Chapter 346 The Fake Taoist Priest

Chapter 346 The Fake Taoist Priest

He took out his phone and dialed an unknown number. The call was answered quickly, and a deep male voice asked, "What is it?"

"I would like to ask for your help." Bai Zhuwei's eyes darkened as she spoke in a low voice.

"Speak," the man replied succinctly and directly.

Bai Zhuwei's expression hardened slightly. After hesitating for a moment, she made up her mind and said, "Go up the mountain and tie them up."

These four short words perfectly encapsulate what he needs to do next.

After the person heard this, there was an instant silence on the receiver.

After a long pause, a low voice replied, "Okay, where shall we meet?"

Bai Zhuwei was delighted to see him agree. After giving him an address, the other end of the line hung up immediately, and a busy tone came from the receiver.

The group met at the foot of the mountain. The man's face was cold and he asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure the person is here?"

"Confirmed!" Bai Zhuwei nodded, a hint of coldness flashing in her eyes.

She had already found out the information early on and made sure that Jiang Ran was here, so she sent someone to try to move her away. Otherwise, leaving her would only make her a menace.

"Okay." The man replied in a low voice, then waved slightly to his men, and the group of them walked into the woods.

Bai Zhuwei followed him side by side as they walked inside.

On the other side, Jiang Yuechen was driving on the road. He had felt uneasy since early morning, worried that something might have happened, so he hurried to the back mountain to try to see Jiang Ran and put his mind at ease.

The unease in his heart grew stronger, and Jiang Yuechen stepped on the gas pedal, disappearing into the distance as he sped away.

As soon as he arrived at the foot of the mountain, he walked towards the location that Jiang Ran had told him, and suddenly saw the gate of the courtyard wide open in front of him.

Upon seeing this, Jiang Yuechen's expression hardened, his brows furrowed, worried that Jiang Ran might be in danger, and he quickly went inside.

Just then, Bai Zhuwei was seen standing in the hall, preparing to walk out, with someone carrying another person on their shoulder beside her.

Their eyes met instantly, and Jiang Yuechen's gaze sharpened as he demanded in a stern voice, "Who are you!"

Bai Zhuwei was startled by the sound, a flash of panic crossing her eyes. Her gaze swept behind Jiang Yuechen, and seeing that he was alone, her expression instantly relaxed.

Then, a slight smile curled his lips, and he suddenly scoffed, "Who are you?"

Jiang Yuechen's expression changed slightly, his gaze sharpened, and he replied coldly, "Shouldn't I be asking you that question?"

"You trespassed into a private residence and even tried to kidnap someone. Do you know that this is premeditated kidnapping?"

His words were full of reprimands, but his hands kept moving, silently preparing to call the police.

The man next to him noticed his movement and shouted, "Grab him! He's trying to call the police!"

Before Jiang Yuechen could even make a call, the man closest to him grabbed his hands behind his back and held them in front of him.

Jiang Yuechen had never learned any self-defense techniques since childhood due to his physical condition. Not only were there many of them, but anyone who knew a little bit about grappling could easily deal with him.

Seeing that her men had subdued him, Bai Zhuwei slowly approached him, a hint of disdain flashing across her face. She then said coldly, "I hope you won't make such a stupid mistake again next time! Daring to come up and provoke me all by yourself?"

She paused slightly, looked coldly at Jiang Yuechen, a hint of contempt on her face, and parted her lips slightly: "Are you courting death?"

Jiang Yuechen ignored her warning and coldly retorted, "It's still too early to say who's courting death."

"Once Si Yanxiao finds out that someone is missing, do you think you can get away with it?"

As he spoke, he slightly raised his chin, his face full of sarcasm.

Seeing Bai Zhuwei's expression change and a hint of coldness flash across her face, Jiang Yuechen's eyes flickered, and a name instantly flashed into his mind.

With a slight frown, he asked directly, "Bai Zhuwei?"

When Bai Zhuwei saw that he recognized her, she looked puzzled, and then a hint of surprise flashed across her face.

Jiang Yuechen took in her expression, his gaze darkening slightly. He hadn't expected that his first meeting with her would be under such circumstances.

Then she suddenly spoke in a cold voice, mockingly saying, "Why drag Aran into your affair with Si Yanxiao? What are you shamelessly doing, clinging to someone else's husband!"

When Bai Zhuwei saw that he had exposed her in public, her pupils suddenly darkened, and she reprimanded him sharply: "And who are you? How dare you talk nonsense here?!"

"What do you know! If it weren't for Jiang Ran interfering, how could my relationship with Ayan have come to this point!"

"Tch..." Jiang Yuechen's eyes turned cold as he saw her pushing all the blame onto Jiang Ran, and he retorted directly, "Even now you still can't grasp the current situation, no wonder Si Yanxiao doesn't like you!"

"You are far inferior to Jiang Ran!"

Jiang Yuechen's words were full of disdain and his face was full of mockery, but they instantly struck a chord with her.

Bai Zhuwei shouted angrily, not caring about his identity, and ordered her men to beat him and take him away.

Meanwhile, Si Zuochen and Si Youlin went to investigate the background of that Guan Jing. After asking around, they learned that there was indeed such a person in Xuanqing Temple, but he liked to travel around and rarely returned to the temple.

After returning this time, he suddenly seemed like a different person. His personality changed drastically, he became reclusive, and he no longer interacted with his fellow disciples.

Upon hearing the news, Si Zuochen's lips tightened into a straight line, his brows furrowed slightly, and his expression turned cold. He then said in a cold voice, "Let's go take a look at the backyard."

Upon hearing this, Si Youlin instantly understood that he wanted to go to his residence to look for clues, and then replied in a low voice, "Okay."

As soon as the two reached the door, they heard faint sounds of arguing coming from inside.

Seeing this, Si Zuochen quickly reached out to stop Si Youlin and waved to him. The two looked through the crack in the door and vaguely saw Guan Jing confronting a man in black, looking displeased.

"I've done as you asked, what more do you want?!" Guan Jing's face was cold as he questioned in a deep voice, "If you don't honor the terms we agreed on, don't blame me for exposing everything you've done!"

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen and Si Youlin exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with surprise.

His words sounded like there was more to the story, so I couldn't help but lean closer to see if it was related to Jiang Ran.

The man in black curled his lips slightly, a hint of disdain flashing across his face, and coldly replied, "Don't forget, we're all in the same boat. You've handed us over, haven't you thought about how you'll handle things afterward?"

"A person who impersonates another person can never truly live in the light!"

"If you know what's good for you, do as I say. You'll receive what you promised, otherwise..."

The man was still threatening them from inside, but Si Zuochen and Si Youlin couldn't hear a word he said; their faces were filled with shock.

They had suspected that Guan Jing's identity was unusual, but they never expected that he was actually a fake Taoist priest who had come here in place of someone else's identity!

No wonder he kept mentioning Jiang Ran in his conversation; it turns out he had been bribed and was just saying it casually.

Having learned the crucial information, Si Zuochen and Si Youlin were not planning to linger and were about to leave this troublesome place when a startled exclamation suddenly came from behind them: "What are you doing sneaking around here?"

As the sound faded, the two people arguing inside immediately became alert. The man in black's face darkened, and he quickly strode out.

Si Zuochen glanced at the young Taoist priest who had spoken earlier and couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Damn it!"

Then he pulled Si Youlin up and ran straight outside.

The man in black lowered his eyes to watch their departing figures, his gaze turning cold as he swiftly gave chase. Seeing the man closing in, a flicker of panic crossed Si Zuochen's face. It was the time for the incense offering ceremony, and there was no one in the backyard; the two wouldn't even have a chance to call for help.

The man in black, wielding a dagger, approached them step by step. Si Zuochen's eyes narrowed, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant. The man pounced on them.

The two quickly dodged to the side. A sinister glint flashed across the man's face. He glanced at the two identical-looking men, then suddenly sneered, "A member of the Si family?"

Si Zuochen's expression turned cold. He reached out and shielded Si Youlin behind him, forcibly suppressing the panic in his heart, and asked in a cold voice, "Who are you? Why did you plot to frame Jiang Ran?"

The man narrowed his eyes, a hint of disdain flashing across his face. Instead of responding directly, he coldly mocked, "Is the Si family out of people? Sending two children to investigate!"
