Chapter Forty-Six: Not Wanting to Find

Xiao Yueru became angrier as she spoke. In fact, she had long realized that Qin Anyu was not a man with a strong sense of responsibility or ability to take on challenges.

When faced with problems, he mostly just wants to escape, and he's unwilling to help her with anything.

As the saying goes, couples should help each other because they are meant to be together until the end. But looking back now, it seems that we didn't have that. In fact, most of the time she was the one helping him. Whenever he encountered difficulties, he would turn to her first instead of trying to solve them himself.

Because he said he didn't know how to solve it, he only hoped that she could solve it.

There was only one man who had absolutely no sense of responsibility. If she hadn't liked him so much, she would never have married him. But now he had no way out. Her feelings for him were like a bottomless quagmire, and she was sinking deeper and deeper, with no way to get out on her own.

If she had to make a choice right now, she would still choose to be with Qin Anyu. She doesn't know what her life would be like without him; she has no power to change it, nor does she want to, so she can only accept it.

"Wife, it's not that I don't want to find someone, I just want to say that some things aren't as you think. If that Song Yuwei is still the same as before, then I would definitely be willing, because I would do anything so that my wife can get out sooner, so that you can reunite with me sooner!"

But the most crucial thing now is that she's not the same person she used to be, so I can't change any of that. I talked to her, and what she said was incredibly awful; I don't want to hear it again.

Qin Anyu sighed deeply. He really wanted to resist this matter. He didn't want to face it because, after all, what he had done was real and not something Song Yuwei had made up.

It's like taking off his clothes and showing others his most shameful side; now he doesn't want to think about it anymore.

Xiao Yueru's heart was as cold as a deep pool. "Qin Anyu, I ask you, do you have any conscience at all? I've been with you, married you, and I've given everything. You've never spent more than 100 yuan on me."

But I've never said anything to you because I know it's all okay. I don't care at all! Every time my parents ask me if you're good to me, I say yes. But only I know how insincerely I say it, because I've never felt that you've ever been good to me.

Aside from your usual small acts of kindness and concern, you haven't done anything for me. On the contrary, I'm willing to give you anything you want, even your heart's blood. But now I'm stuck in this wretched place, suffering, and you haven't done anything for me. You just want to escape, just like before when you always tried to dump your problems on me and hide away alone. Do you really think you're doing this to me?

Qin Anyu hung up the phone immediately. He didn't want to hear any criticism of him, even though he knew that what he did was unreasonable and even excessive. But so what?

He couldn't control himself from accepting criticism from others; he only hoped that his conscience wouldn't be condemned by anyone.

As long as he doesn't hear anyone say what he's like, he won't be judged by others, and without being judged, he'll be happy. That's enough.

Xiao Yueru stared at the phone he had just hung up on; the beeping sound seemed to echo in her ears, just as her heart was bleeding at that moment.

She didn’t know how to describe his disappointment and pain at that moment; she just felt very sad that she had fallen in love with such a person.

She even wanted to tell him, "Let's get a divorce," but she could never bring herself to say it because she couldn't bear the consequences of saying it, and she didn't have the ability to pay the price.

"Qin Anyu! Answer my call! You're not allowed to hang up on me! What right do you have to hang up on me? You eat my food, drink my drinks, use my things, and every penny you spend comes from me! Do you have any shame? And now you've left me here like this."

Dressed impeccably and carefree, is this really the life you want? If you're living such a glamorous life, have you ever considered that one day I might be unhappy, and I could make you fall from grace instantly? Never again will it be like this!

Xiao Yueru roared through the glass, but the glass seemed to separate her and him into two different worlds.

He seemed not to hear her at all; he just stared blankly through the glass at her breakdown, motionless, like a piece of wood.

He was always like that. No matter how angry she got, he wouldn't say a word or argue with her. He would just stand there like a wooden stump, completely still. That was his usual attitude towards her.

This situation seems quite common, and he should be used to it, but at this moment, for some reason, Xiao Yueru felt particularly depressed and suffocated.

"You scumbag!" Xiao Yueru cried uncontrollably. Because she was so agitated, the police had already restrained her and taken her away.

After leaving that room, her heart ached as if it were being stabbed.

"Sigh!" Qin Anyu sighed, turned around, and his phone started vibrating again in his pocket.

A chill ran down his spine. Ever since Xiao Yueru was locked up, he hadn't dared to answer the phone. No matter when or where, whenever his phone rang, he felt his whole body start to tremble, because most of the calls came from his parents-in-law, who would always seem to be berating him after they got through.

He took out his phone at that moment, and sure enough, it was his mother-in-law.

"Hey, Mom, what's wrong?" he asked in a low voice.

"How did it go? Did you see Yue Ru? How is she now?"

"She's doing fine now."

Instantly, the tone on the other end changed.

"What do you mean? You say she's doing fine? Do you think I'll believe that? She's doing well in the detention center, really? You're lying without even thinking now. Do you think that just because my daughter's been arrested, you can be the boss in our house?"

"What makes you think you're so special? Who do you think you are? You have no money, no house, no car, and you're not even particularly handsome. My daughter accompanying you eight times is an insult to her. What right do you have to be with my daughter?"
