"You guys catch the fish first and then go down the mountain. I'll stay here and keep an eye on things."
Ling Weidong wanted to say something, but was simply shut down.
“My home is at the foot of the mountain. If they come down the mountain, I will be their first target. Knowing that there is danger, it is not my style to let them wander around.”
Besides, you guys are just holding me back here,”
Their undisguised disdain was disheartening, yet they had no way to refute it; it was the truth.
"Huh? Wait a minute,"
Jian Dan suddenly twitched her ears alertly, then climbed back up the tree like a nimble monkey, this time coming down in just a few seconds.
"It's too late. Tell them to hide."
Jian Dan actually felt a little amused.
"They've been targeted by wild boars,"
He couldn't help but laugh, and his voice trembled slightly at the end.
"You all stay hidden, lest the wild boars mistake you for their accomplices."
As she spoke, she climbed up the tree again, this time finding a thick branch to sit on, clearly wanting to watch the show.
Lin Dongfang and his companion looked around and decided to hide the person behind the rock first. They then climbed the nearest tree so they could rescue the person quickly should anything happen.
A few minutes later, several screams reached our ears.
"Help! Help!"
"There are wild boars! Is anyone there?"
Tan Yajun and her group covered their mouths, not daring to breathe, as they watched the wild boar and the three people charging closer and closer to them.
The panicked group of people hesitated, holding their weapons in hand.
"Don't come any closer, or I'll really shoot."
I simply rolled my eyes and talked to a wild boar. Wow, that's impressive!
"Ouch! Don't bite me, it hurts!"
"Oh, my leg!"
"Bang!" That was the sound of someone falling heavily to the ground.
Three wild boars surrounded three people, which was quite fair; soon the area under the tree was covered in bright red blood.
With a few glances from their elevated position, the wild boar's long tusks could bite anywhere it set its sights—arms, legs, or the back of the neck. The three men's cotton-padded clothes were quickly soaked with blood, and their cries for help grew weaker and weaker.
Someone, in their haste, actually pulled the trigger, and then, as if some switch had been flipped, suddenly a barrage of gunfire erupted. In an instant, the three guns were firing haphazardly, almost without any aiming.
To be honest, Jian Dan was surprised. No matter what the mission was, firing a gun in this area near the village should be done with extreme caution. With this frequency, Liu Jianshe might even have to report it to the police.
However, not all of these dozen or so bullets were wasted. Several wild boars were hit to varying degrees, and the pain and blood made them even more agitated, jumping around on the spot.
The poor people on the ground, who had lost too much blood, were being smacked by wild boar hooves from time to time. One person's arm, which looked like the shape of his cotton-padded jacket sleeve, seemed to have been crushed into mud. His face was pale, and he stared at the sky, looking utterly hopeless.
I guess they sensed that they were doomed today.
The female educated youth trembled with fear. They had never seen such a bloody scene before, with wild boars and bullets flying everywhere. Someone made a sound, which gave the enraged wild boar a target for its rage.
Now, they couldn't hide it anymore, and even the two male educated youths screamed.
The three people in the tree frowned. Lin Dongfang and Ling Weidong were about to go down when they glanced at the tree and followed. They rolled forward and, after two rolls, landed behind a big tree.
Lin Dongfang and his companion immediately engaged in battle with the wild boar, and had no energy to pay attention to her at all.
Unarmed and with only their bare hands, and with the wild boar in a rage, the two men dodged rather clumsily, their clothes soon becoming stained and the cotton filling being torn out.
They were exhausted, but it was almost a waste of time for the thick-skinned wild boar, leaving the two of them panting heavily very quickly.
Just then, Jian Dan suddenly appeared, carrying a stick. The two people opposite him quickly retreated. They had seen this before; it was obvious that he was about to unleash his power, and they were afraid of getting splattered with blood.
Jian Dan didn't use any tricks; she simply struck the back of the boar's neck with the stick. With a "bang," the boar collapsed limply. Jian Dan was also stunned. She had chosen the right stick, and it broke with just one blow?
Enraged, she kicked the wild boar hard and then threw away the stick that had been broken in two.
Turning around, she saw the remaining two wild boars rushing towards her. She squatted down, picked them up, threw them, and kicked them with fluid movements, easily tossing the still-warm boars away.
After circling in mid-air, the black boar's carcass flew straight toward its two companions.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Three heavy objects fell to the ground in succession, causing the hillside to shake. Lin Dongfang and Ling Weidong, who were at the scene, were stunned.
Tan Yajun and the other educated youths, who were hiding not far away, were also stunned and did not react for a long time.
Hearing about it is one thing, but being there live is another.
As for the three people underground, they were still breathing, but it would have been better if they had just passed out.
A gust of northwest wind blew by, startling the group awake. Lin Dongfang and the other man didn't say anything else, quickly greeted Jian Dan, and ran inside to find the other two people from earlier. They looked like the weaker party, but you can't judge a book by its cover. They already suspected their origins, so naturally they couldn't let them out of their sight.
A slight breeze blew, and Jian Dan immediately hunched her shoulders and pulled her cotton-padded coat tighter.
