Chang Le said, "The secret realm will open at the end of the year. I don't know how long it will take to enter and exit the secret realm. By the time I come out, it will probably be the time for them to make their move."
"They're in the shadows right now, and we have too few clues. There's no use thinking too much. We'll just have to deal with whatever comes our way."
At this point, Zigui chuckled and said, "We're going back to the Golden Domain tomorrow night. Grandma and the others have made preparations. Let's celebrate the New Year together in advance."
Chang Le's brows relaxed: "Okay."
"Hey, but why wait until tomorrow night?" Chang Le asked, puzzled. "Does Luo Xuan have something else to do?"
"I haven't told you yet," Ziguiti said seriously.
"This incident has caused quite a stir, and it's clear to everyone that a much larger conspiracy is brewing behind it. Once things like mutants and fusion abilities come to light, the entire world will be shaken. These are matters that the individual regions can no longer decide on their own. Therefore, the regions will be holding a 'summit meeting' tomorrow."
Chang Le was slightly surprised: "A summit meeting?!"
The summit meeting of the nine regions of Middle-earth was only attended by the highest-ranking officials of the nine regions, including those mysterious old men who usually kept to themselves in the shadows.
This meeting is only convened when something truly destabilizing occurs in the Central Plains; the Northern War was merely an emergency operational meeting. The last summit meeting was held eight years ago, where decisions were made regarding the handling of Shen Fuguang and the Dragon Faction.
Unexpectedly, a series of minor incidents triggered a meeting of this caliber.
"We have to wait until the meeting is over and see the region's reaction before we go back to Golden Domain."
Chang Le asked, "Who's going to District Nine?"
The cuckoo cried out, "Tomorrow morning, Granny Wu and Wolf Lord Lu Yanhuai will secretly arrive in Jingwei City, where the meeting will be held."
Jingwei City is located southeast of Hua'an City and is an important defensive line protecting Hua'an City, but its presence in other cities is not strong under normal circumstances.
Zigui Ti explained, "Young Master, when we received the notice of the Summit Meeting, the training camp had not yet ended. Because we were afraid that you would be too busy to attend, we had Granny Wu attend in your place. Originally, the Dragon Faction should have had you attend this meeting."
Chang Le nodded: "My mother-in-law worked in the regional government in her early years. I just finished my assessment and I'm exhausted. I don't have the energy to deal with so many things. It's definitely more appropriate for my mother-in-law to go this time."
"Young Master's mind is as clear as a mirror," Zigui Ti praised.
Chang Le chuckled: "Now you're flattering me? Aren't you just trying to explain because you're afraid I'll mind?"
Zigui Ti smiled charmingly, though the smile seemed a little out of place on this middle-aged man's face: "It's a tacit understanding that the young master won't blame us, but we still need to explain our overstepping of authority. We are all excellent subordinates."
He raised his eyebrows: "Be civilized and polite!"
Chang Le couldn't help but laugh.
The car stopped at the back gate of the Wenming Hotel, and Ziguiti led Changle to the arranged room.
Lu Jin'an lived across the hall, and crows and cuckoos lived next door.
Chang Le sat on the sofa, holding a cup of hot water.
Seeing that she looked tired, Zigui asked, "Luo Xuan won't be here until tonight. You've just gone through several days of assessments. Why don't you rest first?"
Chang Le shook his head: "I haven't been able to sleep well since so many things have happened. If you have nothing else to do, tell me about what you found out about the Vera family and the Gallia family."
Time flew by and evening arrived. Luo Xuan, having avoided the media, came over to report on the discussions of the past few days:
"The first is aimed at the mutants."
The region and we will share all leads, with the Si and Hua families leading the investigation. The Wei family will conduct searches of key bases, institutions, and armed fortresses, and adjust specific defense forces to prevent any potential infiltration by mutants.
"The second issue concerns the handling of the end of the young master exchange period."
The Gu, Si, Wei, and Hua families have clearly expressed their support for the young master's return to the Dragon Sect in the Ninth District, but the Qin, Ying, Shen, Lu, and Xiao families are all taking a wait-and-see approach.
The point of contention lies in whether the young master possesses the ability to fuse, or whether the devouring ability will evolve into a fusion ability after creating the mystical realm. A significant portion of the region is unwilling to let the Dragon Faction relinquish the key to my fusion, believing it will cause unrest.
Chang Le asked him, "What was the final outcome of the discussion?"
Luo Xuan said, "They said they'll see what the final decision is at tomorrow's summit meeting."
Chang Le lowered her eyes and nodded slightly: "Okay, I understand, Brother Xuan, thank you for your hard work."
“This is what I should do.”
After finishing their business, Luo Xuan said to her in a familiar tone, "I heard from Zigui Ti that you haven't rested since you came back. It's getting late, so you should get some rest. Granny Wu and Mr. Lu will be at the meeting tomorrow."
The night was deep outside the window. Chang Le looked at the hazy, plump moon and frowned, saying, "Brother Xuan, I can't sleep."
Luo Xuan paused, got up and sat down next to her on the opposite sofa, and asked softly, "Did something happen during the training camp?"
Facing familiar and close people, Chang Le did not suppress the chaotic emotions in her heart, letting the night evoke noisy scenes.
Late at night, it's easy to feel melancholic.
"Brother Xuan."
Luo Xuan responded and looked at her while supporting himself on his knees.
Chang Le looked at him and whispered, "Brother Xuan, am I... really that bad?"
"Can you tell me why you say that?" Luo Xuan asked softly.
Chang Le leaned back in the chair:
"When I received the diagnosis from Hua Lan and suddenly regained all my memories, it took me a few days to get to know myself again. I thought I was pretty strong, but during the training camp, in the illusions, nightmares, and simulated scenarios, I found that I still couldn't overcome those inner demons. I easily lost control; I really went crazy! I wasn't as determined or as clear about what I wanted or what I wanted to do as I thought I was!"
