In the sixth training exercise, a three-day simulated combat exercise, Qin Xian, Ryan, and Mira, who belong to the same faction, earned points.
The combination of [Slumber] and [Sun and Moon Shining Brightly] greatly affected the combat power of Chang Le's faction, disrupting their plans and ultimately resulting in a narrow victory for them.
Moreover, Chang Le was given special care by Ryan, and was trapped in [Sleep] for several hours. Forced to sleep, the recurring nightmares had a significant impact on Chang Le's condition.
The accident occurred on the very night the simulated combat exercise ended.
Chang Le lost control in the closed, dark treatment chamber, destroying the chamber and interrupting the treatment.
"Where is everyone?" When Li Yunfan rushed over after hearing the news, Hua Anning and Gu Yujing had just arrived, and the people receiving treatment next door also came over after hearing the commotion.
Chang Le was not in the medical room; only the medical staff, exhausted from being devoured, remained in the room.
Li Yunfan immediately retrieved the surveillance footage, only to find that the footage was faulty, showing the exact time Chang Le left the medical room.
When Chang Le's location was checked again, it was found that it was also being interfered with. Only the locator was still responding, which proved that Chang Le was still within the training base area.
The training base covers the entire inner circle of Xuefeng Mountain, and the wind and snow have almost completely covered Chang Le's traces, making it extremely difficult to find him.
Faced with this unexpected turn of events, Li Yunfan disregarded his anger and immediately mobilized all available resources to search for the missing person, emphasizing that the safety of the team members should be the top priority.
Hua Anning and others also went to search.
Ryan, Carson, and Mira didn't rest. They were outside when they heard the commotion. Everyone else was looking for people, so they went into the mountains together.
“Young Master, why should we help? It would be better if Chang Le died in an accident, wouldn’t that be in our best interest?” Carson didn’t understand why Ryan had brought him out to find someone.
Ryan sneered, "What if someone else rescues her?"
Carson immediately understood: "Then let's pray we meet her first, and then..." As he spoke, he made a "cut" gesture across his neck.
Mira stood to the side, keeping a certain distance despite being with them, and coldly reminded them, "If you kill someone here, the people of Middle-earth will not let you off."
"Murder? Who's going to kill someone?" Ryan shrugged. "What does it have to do with me whether Miss Chang Le dies from her injuries or dies suddenly from excessive psychological pressure during her escape after high-intensity training?"
"They won't be satisfied with your explanation. Chang Le's mental strength was damaged because he forcibly broke your [Sleep].
"..."
Mira didn't hear Ryan's rebuttal, and looked over curiously, only to find him deep in thought.
"I hadn't suspected anything before, but now that you mention it, I suddenly feel..."
Ryan's suspicious gaze was fixed sharply on the rabbit darting across the snow, as if he were looking through the animal at its prey: "Chang Le's mental state is not quite right."
"How so?" Mira asked.
"Her mental strength is very strong, and I don't know how she cultivated it. Her mental strength is fierce, but very complex."
Generally, those affected by my "Sleep" will fall into an unconscious sleep, unless I intentionally trigger a nightmare state. However, after Chang Le was affected by my "Sleep," his mental energy became disordered and scattered.
"At the time, I thought it was a backlash from her forceful resistance, but now that I think about it, it's very likely that she had a problem with her mental strength and that her brain had been damaged."
“Impossible.” Mira disagreed. “If that were the case, how did she break through the illusion so quickly during the previous mental training?”
"How do you know if her mental strength was affected after the illusion was broken? Did she lose control like she is now?" Ryan countered.
Mira remained silent. Because what Ryan said made sense.
Ryan's eyes flashed with murderous intent: "Chang Le ruined the family's business in the Seventh District of the Central Plains, and he must pay the price!"
He gestured with his chin toward Carson: "Find her."
Carson nodded and activated his superpower.
His special ability, translated into a mid-language language, is called "Fearless," which enhances the five senses while weakening negative influences on a person; it is an ability focused on combat.
"There's a smell of blood over here."
Ryan and his two companions followed the trail of blood to the foot of Golden Peak Mountain, where they stopped in shock.
The snow-covered landscape below the mountain was now in disarray, with gray, dark red, and mottled marks intertwined on the snow.
The humanoid Moon Demon lay sprawled on the ground, while a three-meter-tall Ice Fang Tiger lay overturned, its body covered in a pool of blood and gruesome wounds, especially a wound on its neck that had severed its trachea.
A fierce battle had clearly taken place here.
However, the injuries to Moon-Watching Demon and Ice Fang Tiger were caused by someone else.
The three exchanged glances and cautiously approached the chaotic scene from two different directions.
When they went around to the other side, they were surprised to find a person lying near the Ice Fang Tiger, covered with a thin layer of white snow that had turned red.
The three looked closely and realized it was Chang Le, who had been missing.
At this moment, she lay motionless in the snow, her chest barely rising and falling, her injuries clearly aggravated, and she seemed to have no chance of fighting back.
Ryan slowed his breathing, his muscles tensing, and made a gesture. Carson crouched down and approached him.
"Creak, creak..."
Even the lightest footsteps leave a sound on the soft, fresh snow, amplified many times over in the darkness where the group even held their breath.
Ryan had already walked up to Chang Le, his toes no more than 20 centimeters away from her body, but she still did not react.
Ryan slowly revealed a smile, and his palm, imbued with supernatural power, reached out towards Chang Le's forehead.
