"clatter."
An old-fashioned manual switch was turned on, illuminating the small apartment of just over thirty square meters.
Chen Wu handed Chang Le a pair of spare slippers: "I washed them, don't mind them."
Chang Le shook his head, changed his shoes, and followed her inside to take a look around.
The space is not large, so it was designed as a one-bedroom, one-living room, and one-bathroom apartment. A privacy partition was installed between the entrance hall and the inner room, and the overall decoration is very simple.
Chen Wu invited her to sit down, as he had worked up a sweat during his night run and went to wash up first.
The small living room connects to a small balcony separated by a half-glass door. On the balcony, a few peach and green leaves sway in the wind, and the warm light falls on the plush sofa, where the fine reflective threads shimmer with a crystal-like luster.
You can see the road in the neighborhood from the window. It's very quiet at night, and this house makes me feel very safe.
Chang Le sat on the sofa and saw a cute, yellow and red dragon-shaped doll next to the sail-shaped building blocks that Chen Wu had placed on one side of the sofa. It was ugly-cute and leaned against the boat.
"Which one do you like?" Chen Wu asked as she came out, drying her hair.
Her layered, shoulder-length hair, which usually falls in front of her face, was wet, but Chen Wu swept it up.
Water droplets dripped from his unruly, wet hair, flowing past his narrow, somewhat world-weary eyes, making him both beautiful and handsome.
Chang Le stared blankly for a second.
In terms of temperament, Chen Wu and Ye Buqi are somewhat similar, except that Chen Wu is more composed, while Ye Buqi is more sharp and flamboyant.
She was stunned for a moment before realizing Chen Wu's question, and then glanced at it again: "I prefer fluffy things, I'm not very good at building blocks."
She prefers to sit quietly or engage in exhilarating training rather than meticulously assembling a complete set of building blocks.
Chen Wu walked over, grabbed the dragon by the neck, and shoved it into her hand: "Take it."
Chang Le was stunned for a moment, then put the dragon back: "This is your toy, I can't take it."
"It's not mine," Chen Wu said. "It was a prize from a lottery. I brought it back to use as a dishwashing sponge."
Chang Le's lips twitched, and she silently moved the little dragon from the side closer to her to the other side: "Um, this is probably not suitable for washing dishes."
Chen Wu nodded: "Indeed, those oddly shaped ones are not very useful, so I just left them there. You can take them, otherwise I'll throw them away next time because they take up space."
Chang Le paused for a moment, then said, "Then could you please keep it for me? I'll keep it with you for safekeeping."
Chen Wu nodded and draped the towel over his shoulders.
Chang Le said, "You should blow-dry your hair first."
Chen Wu turned on the light screen for Chang Le to see, and then went to blow-dry her hair.
She quickly finished drying her hair and came back, handing her the clothes in her hand: "These are new and I haven't worn them yet, so you can use them as pajamas."
Chang Le stared at her, stunned.
Chen Wu frowned slightly: "Aren't you staying? It's already past midnight, are you still leaving?"
Chang Le hesitated and asked, "Wouldn't that be inconvenient?"
Chen Wu shoved the clothes into her hands: "If I say I want to work for you in the future, will you find it troublesome?"
Chang Le smiled and took the clothes. It was a short-sleeved shirt and shorts set, both made of very soft fabric.
Chen Wu led her to the room and said, "You sleep here, I'll sleep outside."
"How can I let you sleep on the sofa?" Chang Le looked at the bed and said, "If you don't mind, let's sleep together."
Chen Wu shook his head: "I'm glad you don't mind."
Chang Le touched his nose: "If I'm not behaving properly while I'm asleep, you don't have to be lenient with me."
Chen Wu laughed out loud and turned to get another quilt.
When Chang Le came out after washing up, Chen Wu was already in bed, reading a magazine called "Financial Perspective". He was stunned when he saw her come out, then laughed: "Looks like I don't need to bring my pants."
Chang Le looked helplessly at the short-sleeved shirt that reached her knees; it could easily be worn as a dress.
Chang Le climbed into bed, and Chen Wu put down her magazine: "Want to sleep now?"
Are you sleepy?
Chen Wu shook his head: "I'm not that bad, but it's not healthy, so don't follow my example."
Chang Le huddled under the covers, tucked under her chin: "I can't sleep."
Chen Wu paused for a moment, then said, "Then... how about we chat? Or I can sing you a song? Or tell you a lullaby?"
Chang Le was both amused and exasperated: "You have so many skills?"
Chen Wu said expressionlessly, "All you know are war songs and horror stories."
Chang Le laughed so hard she buried herself in the blanket.
Do these two things have anything to do with putting someone to sleep?
"Let's chat instead," Chen Wu said helplessly. "I haven't unlocked many skills yet."
The two lay side by side, each under their own blanket, gazing at the warm yellow ceiling, chatting idly.
"Ah, do you have any plans?" Chang Le asked.
In a short while, the two started calling each other "Ah-woo" and "Ah-Le".
Chen Wu said, "I want to intern at the company, but I dropped out of Kyushu University, so it's not easy for me to find an internship."
Chang Le thought for a moment and said, "Aww, I'll send you to a big company to learn, and you can help manage my business in the future, okay?"
Chen Wu smiled and said, "It's my honor."
Then she asked, "Is the company located locally?"
Chang Le said, "I need to communicate with them over there to see if it's local or if I need to go to... District Nine."
Chen Wu paused for a moment, then nodded: "I have no problem with anything."
"Aren't you afraid I'll sell you off?" Chang Le asked, curious about her decisiveness.
Chen Wu chuckled and said, "You've already overturned the She family and the Spymagor family, where else are you going to sell me?"
"You found out?"
Chen Wu said, "The civil unrest in Sunny has affected China's foreign trade. I saw the news and know that it was caused by the incident involving Spymagau. I think that must have been your doing."
