Chapter 13 I have something to do tonight so I won’t be going back
Although Fu Ci still felt aggrieved, as he clearly had not touched the important document, his brother indiscriminately accused him of destroying it.
But when he thought about how his brother had waited for him for such a long time and made Uncle Wang look for him everywhere, the bitterness and unhappiness in his heart gradually subsided, so he did not see Uncle Wang's surprised look.
Fu Ci stepped forward hesitantly, then timidly lowered his head the moment he opened the car door. His soft, intermittent voice contained a hint of grievance, "Brother, I really didn't touch your files."
"You still don't believe me. I'm so sad!"
After waiting for a while, Uncle Wang, who was already in the driver's seat, tilted his head and asked him, "Second Young Master, why are you mumbling to yourself when you're not in the car?"
"The eldest master said he has something to do tonight and won't be going back, so he asked me to take you home."
Fu Ci suddenly looked up and saw that the back seat of the black Maybach was empty. He was stunned. Thinking of the reason why Lu Shiyan didn't want to go home, maybe because he was still angry with him, he felt as depressed as an eggplant hit by frost.
The car slowly drove into the Lu family manor. Zhou Li knew that Lu Shiyu had upset Lu Shiyan in the morning, so she was very considerate and took him to wait at the door.
Seeing Lu Shiyan's car stop, he immediately pushed Lu Shiyu's back and whispered, "Xiaoyu, go and apologize to your brother as your mother said."
Lu Shiyan was sent to the old house since he was a child and was raised by his dignified and extremely rule-abiding grandparents. Therefore, he is calm, restrained, and forbearing. He is also the most noble and self-respecting heir trained by the Lu family.
Lu Shiyu admired and feared Lu Shiyan, his brother who was eighteen years older than him. Whenever he saw that fool Fu Ci clinging to him, he became jealous to the point of going crazy.
So I always deliberately bully that fool.
Who would have thought that the brother who always watched from the sidelines would actually defend that fool Fu Ci for the first time this morning and even got angry at him for once.
His mother also blamed him for not being as smart as Fu Ci, a fool. Even a fool would know that no matter how much he hated Lu Shiyan, he would hold on to his thighs tightly.
Lu Shiyu was not convinced. Wasn’t he just trying to cling to his brother?
He must be better than that fool Fu Ci and will please his brother more.
Having made up his mind, Lu Shiyu immediately took action. He diligently opened the car door and saw the figure leaning in the shadows, his profile as sharp as jade, his whole body exuding a cold and lonely figure. He called out sweetly, "Brother, you're off work!"
But the next moment he realized that it was not Lu Shiyan, but that fool Fu Ci.
He asked angrily, "Why is it you?"
Fu Ci got out of the car without even giving him a glance. There was a gloomy look between his eyebrows. He was obviously in no mood to pay attention to this little brat. He said coldly, "Get away."
Lu Shiyu's mind suddenly flashed back to the scene in the morning when he was thrown headfirst by Fu Ci and almost drowned, as well as Fu Ci's eyes, which were different from his previous naivety and stupidity, and were almost paranoid and crazy. His heart trembled suddenly, and he threw himself into his mother's arms with a roar.
Zhou Li frowned suddenly, her tone full of accusation, "Why are you back?"
"Is it because my brother is unwilling to forgive you?"
Zhou Li grabbed Lu Shiyu's arm and headed towards the car, "Mom will take you to apologize to your brother."
Lu Shiyu quickly broke free, "No, Mom, brother didn't come back. It was Fu Ci, that idiot..." Just then, Fu Ci walked behind him. His chubby little body trembled slightly for a moment, and he immediately changed his words, "It was my second brother."
When Zhou Li saw that it wasn't Lu Shiyan, she changed her flattering and fawning expression, curled her lips, and said sarcastically, "Why did you come back in A Yan's car?"
Seeing Fu Ci walking straight upstairs as if he didn't hear her words, Zhou Li's face immediately darkened. It was okay for her to look at Lu Shiyan's face, but when would she have to look at this fool's face?
The more Zhou Li thought about it, the more aggrieved she became. Suddenly, she asked angrily, "I'm talking to you."
"Are you deaf?"
Lu Shiyu thought of Fu Ci's other side of being crazy and was so scared that she hugged Zhou Li, who was about to go berserk, and quickly changed the subject, "Mom, brother probably won't be home for dinner."
"I'm hungry, let's go eat."
Zhou Li finally calmed down her anger and pulled Lu Shiyu towards the restaurant, "Aunt Liu, dinner is ready!"
When dinner was served, Aunt Liu looked at Zhou Li and her son who were enjoying their meal together and asked Uncle Wang quietly, "What's wrong with the Second Young Master tonight?"
"Why don't you come down for dinner?"
"Did Madam and the Young Master bully the Second Young Master again?"
Uncle Wang shook his head and recounted what happened tonight. He then said worriedly, "He didn't say a word the whole way. He looked like he'd been crying. His eyes were red."
Aunt Liu sighed quietly, "She was so excited to deliver lunch to the young master at noon, but it's only been an afternoon, and I guess she's had another conflict with him."
Uncle Wang urged him, "Send dinner up later. How can we not have dinner?"
Aunt Liu nodded repeatedly, "I've saved some for you. I'll serve it up after Madam and the Young Master have finished eating."
After Fu Ci finished washing up, he sat in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and played with building blocks. There was a knock on the door behind him. He paused and continued playing with building blocks. He didn't get up to open the door until he heard Aunt Liu's concerned voice outside.
Aunt Liu was standing outside the door with a sumptuous dinner. Seeing Fu Ci's gloomy expression, a trace of heartache flashed in her eyes. She smiled and said, "Second Young Master, it's time for dinner."
Fu Ci could sense the worry in Aunt Liu's eyes. He swallowed his words when he was about to say he didn't want to eat, took the plate and whispered a thank you, "Thank you, Aunt Liu."
When Aunt Liu saw him answer the phone and close the door, she sighed softly and went downstairs.
Fu Ci sat in front of the floor-to-ceiling window again, ate only two bites before putting down his plate and continuing to concentrate on piecing together the unfinished building blocks. His dark pupils seemed covered with a layer of rime when they drooped, and his tall and straight back was filled with loneliness and dejection, until the night faded away and the sky turned white.
Lu Shiyan worked hard all night and finally finished the documents, then rushed back to North City to deal with the remaining matters. He hadn't slept for a whole day and night. He was obviously exhausted to the extreme, but he tossed and turned in bed in the lounge and couldn't fall asleep.
He stood up and glanced at the lounge, which had already been cleaned by the cleaning lady. It was no different from before. He lay down again, but even though his head was dizzy, he still couldn't fall asleep.
Change is a scary thing...
He started working at the Lu Group at the age of 20 and learned how to take over such a large company. In the past five years, he has been like a taut spring, handling the company's affairs in an orderly manner day after day.
He is the most calm and introverted eldest grandson in the eyes of his grandparents, the most qualified heir trained by the Lu family, and the respected Mr. Lu at the top of the pyramid in North City. Therefore, he has long been accustomed to the loneliness and solitude of being at the top.
But it only took one day, just like those travelers who have been floating in the sea of suffering, running a long distance, exhausted and dusty, suddenly encountered an oasis when they were exhausted.
The sun shines through the dark gaps, and that warm and pure temperature silently seeps into every corner, making people miss it so much.
