Second candy
The kingdom is shocked when a dragon kidnaps the princess from Violet Academy.
An urgent letter from the dean of Violet Academy appeared on the king's desk before dawn. When the queen heard the news, she simply wrapped a cloak over her pajamas, hurriedly tied up her hair, and went to the study with the king.
"How could it be..." The queen frowned and didn't finish her words. She knew that now was not the time to blame. The most urgent thing was to rescue Evelyn from the dragon.
"Where are Jack and the others now?" the queen looked at the king and asked.
"They have already entered the city. They just rushed back. I asked them to take a brief rest before entering the palace." said the king.
"Okay, what should we do now?" This news was such a huge blow to the queen that she was a little at a loss for a moment.
"Anna, calm down. Only when we all calm down can we come up with a perfect way to rescue Evelyn." The king held the queen's hand and looked into her eyes.
The queen nodded, breathing slowly to calm herself. As her mind calmed, some ideas emerged. "I think besides the knights, we need to gather some warriors. The dragon lives in the deepest part of the Futo Forest, a place rarely visited by humans. But I remember that the original panoramic map of the Futo Forest was drawn by a folk geologist. Perhaps this time we can find warriors who can take on the dragon," the queen said.
"Yes. But we can't put all the weight on the Knights and Warriors. The magicians in our country are not good enough. I plan to write a letter back to the dean of Violet Academy and ask them to provide help as well." The king looked at the dean's apologetic words in the letter in his hand and quickly made the best decision.
"I hope our daughter is safe." The queen murmured softly. She glanced at the time displayed on the study clock. It was three o'clock in the morning, and the sky outside the window was still dark. "I will go back and dress, and then I will go with you to see the minister."
"Anna." The king didn't loosen his grip on the queen's hand. Instead, his fingers tightened, their palms clasped together, giving each other strength. "Just like when Evelyn suddenly disappeared from the palace, we were so worried and only realized she had run away alone. Although Evelyn was captured by a dragon this time, she will definitely return to us safely, just like before."
"I believe it," said the Queen.
Before daybreak, not only was there a panic in the palace, but the homes of the ministers outside the palace were also in turmoil.
Evelyn was the kingdom's sole heir, and the commotion caused by Velvet's abduction from Violet Academy was nothing short of sensational. Even though information between people couldn't travel as quickly as a magic letter, Knight Captain Jack, carrying out a secret mission, returned late at night with a team of knights, barely resting before returning to the palace, exhausted.
As long as the ministers were not stupid, they could smell the serious atmosphere in the royal city.
The next day, news that Princess Evelyn was abducted by a dragon swept the dynasty.
The ministers felt that eighteen years had passed and the sword of Damocles that had been hanging over their entire kingdom had finally fallen to the ground.
As soon as the sun emerged from the horizon, the ministers rushed into the palace and chattered and gave advice to the king and queen sitting on the high throne. The suggestions they made were very similar to what the king and queen had discussed before.
In the early morning, the king's reply to Violet Academy had been sent out. The dean replied quickly, saying that he would gather senior magicians and the knights to go to the Foto Forest together. The magicians were expected to arrive in the kingdom in the afternoon at a fast pace.
After hearing that his ministers had no constructive opinions, the king ordered someone to write and post a notice to recruit warriors across the country for three days.
This was the maximum time limit the king and queen could tolerate. If possible, they would even like the magician team to set off as soon as they arrived. They would not be able to sleep well if Evelyn stayed with the evil dragon for one more day.
Evelyn, whose heart touched the hearts of the people of an entire country, was walking down the stairs with Violet.
After breakfast, Violet took Evelyn on a brief tour of the castle, mainly introducing her to the main uses of some rooms, including the study, tea and flower arrangement room, small theater, chess room, etc.
When introducing the study, Violet took Evelyn to the window and gestured for Evelyn to look at the two small houses outside the castle.
The small houses all had flat roofs, but were built with different materials. The one on the left was the stable, and the one on the right was the magical training base that Vilt had built specifically for Evelyn. If Evelyn needed it, Vilt would even catch a high-level magical beast in the forest every day for her to practice with.
As Violet spoke, she paid attention to Evelyn's expression. As long as Evelyn was interested in this, she would go out immediately to meet Evelyn's requirements.
Evelin also saw Violet's drive, and she controlled all her emotions.
Walking down from the top of the castle to the bottom, the vertical height was no more than seventy meters. Evelin felt that her heart was beating even more than when she saw the wardrobe opened in the bedroom yesterday.
There wasn't even much of a trace of Violet herself in the castle. From top to bottom, inside and out, it seemed to be built just for Princess Evelyn.
Evelyn was once again burned by Violet's sincere heart.
The two people's final destination was the basement.
The basement was connected to the wine cellar. Behind the wine cabinet at the deepest part of the cellar was a staircase leading to the basement. The wine cellar was filled with the rich aroma of wine. The electric lights hanging on the wall lit up a dim light, and the lights on the wall spread directly down the stairs.
Violet led Evelyn downstairs.
The outermost layer of the basement is like a small museum, filled with various antiques and paintings.
Violet didn't value these items, displaying them even less neatly than the wine upstairs. They received little daily maintenance, simply covered in glass and then smeared with cleaning magic. Evelyn took a look and saw that the magic hadn't been updated in nearly a decade. Fortunately, the antiques and paintings were relatively stable, so the cleaning magic could last for a few more years.
The place with the strongest magic in the outer layer of the basement is where a crown is placed. It is in a corner. The crown is supported by gold and inlaid with a sapphire half the size of a palm in the center. The sapphire is surrounded by broken diamonds. The jewels are so dazzling that they shine brightly even in the dim basement.
But even a crown that matched Violet's aesthetic taste didn't even have any cleaning magic on it. Instead, the wall behind the crown was covered by magic, hiding something.
Vilt stepped forward, motioning Evelyn to come to her side, then held out her hand, "Draw a circle on the left, bottom, and top, then on the right, and stick any princess coin on it." Vilt broke the magic in front of Evelyn. Her movements were very clear, she wanted Evelyn to remember.
As the princess coin fell at the center of the circle, ripples appeared on the wall. The princess coin was swallowed by magic, and a door appeared.
Evelyn hadn't thought that Violet would use her as the key to crack the magic, but after thinking about it, she realized that this was indeed something Violet would do.
After the magic was lifted, the door in front of him opened automatically. When there was only a crack in the door, shining golden light poured out. He saw that the wall in sight was covered with gold bricks. The scattered gold coins on the left side of the gold brick wall filled half of the room, and the other half was filled with gems, antiques inlaid with gems, and oil paintings that had not been sorted out in time.
These things are countless times more exaggerated than those in the small museums outside. These gold and gems can even fill the treasuries of two or three countries.
Evelyn suddenly thought of the dragon's crimes, including "plundering the treasuries of neighboring countries." She turned her head to look at Velvet, who smiled back at her, her eyes sparkling. "Do you like it?"
So...Vilte was robbing the treasury everywhere, not for her own collection but...
"Are these things prepared for me?" Evelyn asked.
"Yes." Violet nodded without hesitation. "It's all for you. I've been storing gold coins in the warehouse, but I felt it wasn't enough, so I went out and collected gold bricks, gems, and antiques."
"So... you really use your identity as a wandering magician to make money? Why don't you spend these gold coins?" Evelyn had a lot to say to Vilt along the way, and many questions to ask her, but in the end, she only cared about why the other person had to live such a hard life.
"This is something given to you, how can I use it?" Violet answered as a matter of course, she thought it should be like this.
Evelyn always thought that Violet's identity as a magician was a hidden thing, and her frugality was because she needed to fit in with her disguised identity, but Evelyn never expected that all this was because of herself.
"You are such a stupid dragon." The emotions that had finally calmed down surged into her heart again. This time, Evelyn didn't intend to restrain herself, and she couldn't restrain herself.
Resting her forehead on Vilt's shoulder, Evelyn's hand squeezed Vilt's wrist, her body trembling slightly.
Evelin really didn't know what to do.
Violet was at a loss. She had brought Evelin to see the gifts with the intention of making her happy, but now it had the opposite effect and made her cry...
Violet raised the hand that was not pinched by Evelyn in a panic and patted her back carefully, "Did I make you sad?" She couldn't see Evelyn's expression, and her heart ached as she trembled.
"No." Evelin shook her head affirmatively, "You never made me sad. I was, moved."
Evelyn raised her head, her eyes and nose red. She looked at Violet's concerned golden eyes and said helplessly again, "Stupid dragon."
"Will you accept the gift I give you?" asked Violet.
"Yes."
Hearing that Evelyn accepted the gift she had prepared and stored for many years, Violet felt as if clusters of flowers had blossomed in her heart. She excitedly pulled Evelyn out of the basement, took a bottle of red wine from the wine cellar, and the two of them came to the balcony outside Evelyn's room.
Before Evelin moved in, Violet would come over and sit with her whenever she was happy. Now that Evelin was suddenly around, Miss Dragon, who had just stubbornly asked if she wanted to accept her gift, suddenly felt a little ashamed, knowing that some things should be kept secret.
Evelyn had no idea what Violet was thinking. Her attention was elsewhere. She watched Violet set up the tables and chairs and pour the red wine into the glasses. Nearly 12 hours had passed from Violet Academy to Violet's castle. Violet didn't ask Evelyn any questions. She didn't seem to need Evelyn to explain anything, as long as they were together.
But Evelyn knew that now was the best time to tell her story. Her feelings for Violet stemmed from curiosity and continued from sincerity, so there was nothing she couldn't say.
Evelyn took a sip of the red wine from the goblet on the table. Without letting go of the glass, she slowly spoke, "The first time I saw you was in a carriage with my father, the king, and the queen. At that time, you were performing magic tricks on the street. I recognized you as a dragon at first sight, and I also knew that you were the evil dragon that my father, the king, and the queen were so wary of. The first time I saw you, I thought: Eh? Aren't evil dragons said to be extremely vicious and live in the deepest part of the sunless forest? Why is he in human form, performing magic tricks for people? At that time, I thought you were a man.
"You know, I could see through your disguise and ensure that I wouldn't be hurt by you. So when I got to the palace, I sneaked out and returned to the town where I met you, determined to follow you. Then the next day you told me you were a woman. I was shocked, but I also began to wonder why you took me back to the castle if you were a woman. So I decided to stick with you and find out why.
"Virt, do you remember the day I gave you a princess coin by the lake?" Evelyn asked.
"I always carry it with me." Vilt had been listening intently to Evelyn. She understood why she was starting from the day they met. When Evelyn mentioned the Princess Coin, Vilt nodded and took the gold coin from her chest pocket.
Evelin took the Princess Coin from Vilt's hand. Her fingertips pinched the edge of the coin, and a flash of white light appeared. A small silver magic circle appeared on the coin, floating above the gold coin, with clear lines.
Evelyn even put her hand in front of Vilt so that she could see more clearly. At a glance, Vilt recognized the function of the magic circle.
"Is this tracking magic?" Vilt looked at Evelyn, and some of the connections in her mind suddenly became clear. "No wonder I ran into you just two days after arriving in Whiterock Town."
"Now I really have nothing to hide from you." Evelyn raised her hand to crush the magic circle, returned the princess coin to Violet and said.
"I like you." Violet said suddenly.
Evelin’s expression was blank for a moment. She hadn’t expected that after she confessed, she would receive such a straightforward confession from Violet.
"I don't know exactly when I fell in love with you. When I realized it, I couldn't take my eyes off you." Violet felt that she should respond after Evelyn explained everything, but she didn't know what to say, so she could only describe her feelings bit by bit.
"Actually, I did lie to you about something. Back in the Futo Forest, I wasn't captured by the Sunwing Beast by accident. I found that Sunwing Beast because I needed a legitimate reason to give you a magic crystal. There were some discrepancies in the process, and thanks to the dragon's breath, my wound had stopped bleeding before you arrived. But to make it seem more real, I tore it open myself," Velvet said, a hint of apology in her eyes. "I made you worry back then."
Evelin shook her head. She looked at Vilt distressedly, and gently stroked her shoulder with the palm of her hand. “If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have to suffer so much.”
“I wanted to give it to you myself.” Vilt shook her head. “At that time, I was thinking that since I had hunted a magic crystal for the princess, I should also give one to Evelyn in front of me. I probably thought about that time…” Vilt’s ears turned red before she finished her words.
"Have you been like this since then?" Evelyn was not a dull person. In the forest, she realized that there was something wrong with Violet's attitude towards her, but she always walked with Sophia, which made Evelyn unsure. "But why do you still walk so close to Sophia?" Evelyn complained deliberately.
Violet didn't answer, she just smiled at Evelyn.
Now there was no more wildness in Violet's golden eyes. They were like a golden star, always surrounding and shining on her princess.
Evelyn was lost in Vilt's irises, thinking: Her heart and eyes are full of me. Was she walking into Sophia for me?
As this thought came to Evelin, she thought of the castle again. The display of items, the style, the structure, and the craftsmanship of the teahouse, the theater, and even the chess room appeared before her eyes. "You and Sophia are so close because..."
"I never had the chance to see you." Violet lowered her eyes as she spoke, but soon she raised them again with a smile and asked Evelyn, "Do you like this castle?"
"I'd be willing to lock me up here forever," Evelyn said.
“I won’t.” Violet shook her head. She felt fortunate now. “Thank goodness it’s you. Thank goodness it’s all you. Thank goodness it’s always you.”
This time, Evelyn heard some different meanings in Violet's words. Thinking back to what Violet had said just now, she realized how painful her little dragon girl must have felt when she realized that she had fallen in love with the human Evelyn, but now she said to herself that it was okay.
Evelyn held Violet's face tenderly, their foreheads touching. Evelyn occasionally nuzzled Violet's nose, their breaths mingling.
"Evelyn." Violet shouted, her body slightly moving back to create some distance between her and Evelyn.
Evelyn thought that Violet was temporarily unable to adapt to such close proximity, but then Evelyn saw Violet take out a smooth, transparent magic crystal.
Velvet pulled down one of Evelyn's hands and placed the magic crystal in her palm.
The magic crystal fell into Evelin's hands, and she felt Violet's body temperature on the cold crystal.
"The heavy magic crystal can accommodate all magical elements and is very suitable for you." said Violet.
"Did you polish this yourself?" The magic crystal had no sharp edges, clearly having been meticulously processed. Evelin could barely hold the magic crystal.
"Well, I should have given it to you a long time ago. It was delayed until now." The meaning in this sentence was hidden by Violet. She didn't need to confess to Evelyn her hesitation and entanglement, and the torment of the long days while waiting for the trial.
The flowers have already bloomed, so why mention the hardships they suffered in the past?
"Virt, I'm unprepared for anything. What about me? What should I give you?" Evelyn felt that her heart could not withstand Violet's passionate love.
Her heart was beating like a drum, and she could even hear her own heartbeat. Evelin no longer thought about whether Violet could accept any intimate actions. She just wanted to express her love for Violet in her own way.
Evelyn set the magic crystal aside and put her arm around Vilt's neck, pulling her, who never resisted, towards her. She stared intently into Vilt's golden eyes and kissed her lips.
There was a moment of surprise in Vilt's eyes, but she did not resist and accepted it happily, her hands hanging at her sides hugging Evelin's waist.
As their lips met, Evelyn heard Violet say, "I've received the best gift."
