I am not a loyal dragon.

After getting the heavy magic crystal, Violet did not return to the mercenary camp immediately, but ran to her own castle.

While preparing a gift for the princess, Violet was devastated when she thought of another person.

She simply took out the "Castle Modification Manual" she had compiled over the past two days, walked through all the places in the castle that needed modification, and compared them with the modification plan on the spot.

The castle is Violet's best work. Every corner of it stores her beautiful dreams for the future, and she also hopes that every part of the castle is perfect.

Finally, Violet came to the highest point of the castle. This was the balcony she built specifically for the princess, where she could bask in the sun during the day and watch the stars at night. She also placed tables, chairs and books on the balcony for chatting with the princess.

Looking at her arrangement, Violet did not sit down on the chair, but turned over and sat on the Adam stone railing surrounding the balcony.

Her body was facing the window, so she wasn't afraid of falling. Falling would be a good thing, as it would clear her mind.

The early summer night in the forest was still a little chilly, and the cool breeze blew Violet's hair.

After sitting for a moment, Violet took out the magic crystal she had carried with her. The various magical elements within the crystal were still surging, like a moving oil painting.

Magic crystals grow in the bodies of magical beasts. Based on the bones, flesh and blood plasticity of the magical beasts, the shape of each magic crystal is unique and irregular.

The magic crystals extracted from the beast's body couldn't be used directly. Either a wand was forged to fit the crystal, or the crystals were polished into a regular shape. Violet had learned about the princess's preferences for magic crystals, and she knew that each one was oval. She planned to adapt to the princess's preferences.

Violet felt the weight of the magic crystal, and then her two hands turned into dragon claws - the magic crystal was very hard, and ordinary tools were like an egg hitting a stone, so a special magic crystal grinding instrument was needed, and that special grinding instrument was worse than Violet's own claws.

So, Violet cut off a small piece from the magic crystal and put it aside, then started to work.

Having something to do can make people calm down. The glittering magic elements in the transparent crystal rose and fell with Vilt's dragon claws, and the elements formed a small vortex in the magic crystal. Vilt recalled the time long, long ago when she first knew that there would be a princess in this world who belonged to her.

In fact, the dragon was not born much earlier than the princess.

The dragon hatched from its egg a year before the princess was born. It spent half a year accepting the inheritance and building the castle, and the rest of the time waiting.

The most common thing the dragon did in the first year it was to lie on the top of the castle in its eggshell and look up at the moon and stars. Inheritance allowed the dragon to know the world, but it was not interested in anything.

The eggshell made the dragon feel safe, but every night when it looked at the stars, it felt that the world was empty.

This is not its world.

Until the day the princess was born, the dragon in the distant castle felt the connection between the worlds, and it seemed that it knew what it should do at that moment.

So it went to rob the treasuries of almost all the surrounding kingdoms, filling the warehouses and basements of the castle with gems and gold coins, and it would give those things along with the castle to the princess.

The dragon and the princess will live together, talk together, watch the sunrise and sunset together... Finally, after the princess's death, the dragon will sort out all the memories of his life with the princess, create a new inheritance, hide the inheritance in a dragon egg in an unknown cave, and then follow the princess to death.

This is everything that the evil dragon received as part of the inheritance.

Although reality seems to be different from tradition.

The evil dragon realized that she was different from her predecessors in her memory, and she had no way to leave the dragon egg with the princess.

Violet lowered her eyes and looked at the oval magic crystal that had already taken shape and smiled.

After putting the oval magic crystal away, Violet picked up the small magic crystal she had cut and continued to polish it.

When she first saw the princess, Violet felt that the empty world was filled with the little princess in front of her. She could not see the expressions of other people around her and could only notice the princess's smiling face.

That's my princess, I will take her back to the castle. This is a desire that comes from the soul. It's not the obsession of "bringing the princess back to the castle" that Violet has because of the legend. This is the soul calling she felt when she first saw her.

But the princess was too small, even smaller than herself when she was just born.

Violet didn't know if she could take good care of her. She even thought about taking the queen away with her. Then she saw endless fear, horror and hatred in the eyes of the queen as she held the princess.

Violet saw herself in the queen's eyes. Using those eyes, which contained complex emotions, as a mirror, the self reflected in those eyes even looked a little ugly.

So, Violet raised her paw and decided that they would meet again when the princess turned eighteen.

When the princess was eighteen years old, she should have turned into a human like her predecessors in the tradition.

The small piece of crystal was easy to polish. Using the sharp nails on her claws as a ruler, in less than a minute, Violet turned the magic crystal into the shape of a cut diamond.

In Violet's original plan, she wanted to set the "diamond" on a ring, give it to the princess along with the oval magic crystal, and then they would return to the castle together...

But now, Vilt's soul made a different sound for the second time. She looked at the pure magic crystal and felt that this crystal was still worthy of the princess, but she was not worthy of it.

Why is this happening? This has never happened in thousands of years, and every memory passed down cannot explain it to Violet.

Violet felt like she should be holding onto something, just like she carried eggshells as a child, but now she didn't want to carry eggshells anymore. Violet raised her hand, and her palm touched her chest pocket, which contained the Princess Coin.

Violet sat in the castle all night.

Until a glimmer of light appeared on the distant horizon, Violet closed her eyes slightly. The sunlight was a bit dazzling. She jumped directly from the balcony and set out on the road back to the mercenary team.

There is no need to look for Chongjun on the way back, and the speed is much faster than the way there.

Five minutes later, Violet had avoided the mercenaries' sight and appeared outside the tent.

Her breathing was calm, as if she had just taken a walk. Violet slowly adjusted her body temperature, using the faint magical elements to wash away the coldness of the night.

Just as Vilt was standing silently outside the tent, Evelyn lifted the curtain and walked out of the tent. She was a little surprised to see Vilt standing at the door, "Why are you outside the tent? When did you wake up? You were gone when I opened my eyes." Evelyn's voice was not loud, probably because she had just woken up.

"I didn't sleep well, so I probably woke up at dawn. I didn't check the time," said Violet. "I took a walk around the area."

"I thought you were out looking for Baise Ye." Evelin said. She looked at the light blue in Violet's eyes and frowned sadly. "I can see that you didn't sleep well. You even have dark circles under your eyes."

Evelin raised her hand as she spoke, wanting to touch Violet's cheek. Violet slightly turned her face to stop Evelin's action and continued the topic Evelin had raised: "I don't know if Baise Ye is here. If not, I guess we will return empty-handed."

"It's okay. I mentioned this to the mercenary captain again yesterday, and she said she would help us find it. This is my reward for my help over the past two days." Evelyn said.

Using the herbs found everywhere in the forest in exchange for the help of a powerful magician, Vilt felt that it was not an equal transaction, but looking at Evelyn's smiling face, Vilt finally said nothing.

After breakfast, the mercenary team packed up and set off to move deeper into the area.

"Puff—" In the center of the formation, the heavy swordsman mercenary pierced the heart of a low-level monster with his sharp blade, and dark red blood spurted out. The heavy swordsman drew his heavy sword, but the alertness on his face did not disappear at all. He frowned at the low-level monster corpses that were obviously twice as many as yesterday, "Something is not right."

Leading the team, magical beasts rushed out of the forest one after another, including not only low-level magical beasts but also mid-level ones. Evelyn and the mercenary captain had no difficulty dealing with them, but the endless flow of magical beasts before them was not a good sign.

After walking a few more kilometers into the forest, the air became thicker with the smell of blood. The monsters the mercenaries encountered were all wounded, and there were even many corpses that had been dead for who knows how long. After dealing with the injured monsters, the mercenaries squatted beside them, examining their wounds.

The monsters bore visible claw wounds. "Why are they fighting among themselves now?" Bandusili's face was serious. She raised her hand and the mercenary team stopped where they were. "Let's rest here for a while. Eaton, take a few people and check the surroundings."

"Yes." A swordsman received the task and took five people to patrol.

"Why did you stop? Let's go! There are so many monsters here." Sophia walked up from the center of the team and urged them. It was the first time she had seen such a scene, and it was not easy for her not to vomit.

"Your Highness, the situation ahead is unclear. You need to be careful," said Bandusili.

Violet and Sophia came over together. Sophia was talking to the mercenary captain, and Violet's eyes stopped at a tree next to the monster's corpse.

The monsters used their claws to fight without restraint, their sharp claws tearing into bodies and blood splattering all over the ground. The flowers and plants under the tree were all covered in "blood".

Violet noticed something. She took out the papyrus from her bag and compared the pattern on the paper with the herbs at hand. She raised her head and looked around again. Clusters of colorful leaves originated from here and grew into the distance.

Evelyn kept her eyes on Violet.

Seeing this, she squatted down beside Violet, looked at the papyrus and then at the herbs, "Baiseye?"

"Yeah." Vert nodded, took out a knife and started digging, intending to collect a few bloodless ones.

"So you're going to let me stay with all those corpses?" Sophia's face turned pale. She took the perfumed handkerchief from the maid and covered her mouth and nose with it. Her voice was muffled. "This road won't work. Try another one."

As if in response to Sophia's words, as soon as she finished speaking, a distant but angry howl of a monster came from the east.

Sophia was startled. She tried her best to maintain her noble demeanor and not scream, but her body was already pressed closely behind Bandusli, seeking advantage and avoiding harm.

Evelyn also pulled up Violet the moment the monster's roar sounded, protecting her behind her.

"Captain, the Warcraft's agitation period may have come earlier. We have detected groups of Warcraft rioting in the east, north and northwest. We dare not go too far and cannot determine the distance." A small team of mercenaries sent by Bandusili came back in a hurry. The detectors in their hands showed that the number of Warcraft gathered exceeded 200.

“It’s only summer!”

"What is the restless period?" The other mercenaries' surprised voices and Sophia's question sounded at the same time.

Bandusili watched Sophia cling to her tightly and tirelessly explained, "The deeper you go into the forest, the more distinct the monster territories become. They rarely migrate, and aside from daily hunting, there's no fighting. But monsters also need to hibernate, so every year before winter arrives, they fight fiercely over hibernation territories and stored food. That period is called the Restless Period."

"The combat power of Warcraft during its restless phase is many times stronger than usual. Apart from high-level magicians, few people would enter the depths of the forest during this phase."

As she spoke, Bandusli suddenly thought of something and said, "Ayton, take a look at the magic concentration on the detector."

"The captain's average magic concentration is two thousand, and it has exceeded three thousand in the northwest direction. There are high-level monsters ahead." Eaton said.

Mercenaries inherently pursue excitement and the impossible. Bandusli clenched and unclenched her hands at her sides, a hint of eagerness flashing deep in her eyes. "Rest for five minutes, then head northwest in five minutes."

"You're crazy!" Sophia raised her voice.

"Your Highness, don't you want to own a high-level magical beast crystal?" Bandusli asked with a smile.

Of course Sophia thought so. That was a high-level magic crystal, something a princess like her wouldn't even see very often. But Sophia knew her limitations. She didn't necessarily need to possess a high-level magic crystal right now.

She was even more afraid that she only had the life to see but not the life to enjoy!

"Our transaction is for mid-level magic crystals. You yourself said that their combat effectiveness in the agitated period is several times stronger than normal times. You also said that we should be cautious, but now we are going to die? If you go crazy, don't drag me into it!" Sophia became anxious.

"Don't worry, Your Highness. Even if my mercenary team is completely wiped out, we will still get you out of Frey Forest safely."

Warcraft battles were brutal and fierce. During the restless period, high-level magicians entered the deep forest to fight the conflict, hoping to profit from it. Now that the restless period had arrived earlier, Bandusli suspected that the high-level Warcraft that had escaped must have been defeated in battle, severely injured and barely alive. Against such a Warcraft mercenary team, they could fight.

A magic crystal from a high-level magical beast is enough to keep the entire mercenary team alive for three years. There is no reason for Bandusili to give up the wealth that is right in front of her.

"You--" Sophia wanted to say something, but Bandusli didn't give her a chance.

Bandusli commanded her mercenary team, "Prepare to set off."

"yes!"

After the howling of the monster, Vilt and Evelyn returned to the mercenary team. Hearing Bandusli's words, Evelyn looked at Vilt, and the two communicated with each other through their eyes about their next plans.

Bandusli came over and asked Evelyn, "What are your next ideas?"

Bandusili couldn't have ignored the vast expanse of white-leafed trees nearby. Besides, they weren't far from the center of the deep forest, teeming with monsters. A single blow would kill an ordinary person. While Evelyn was a significant asset to the mercenary team, Bandusili didn't believe she and the ordinary White would be willing to continue taking such risks.

If they met only Evelyn in the forest, Bandusli would have said she would have brought her in. But she had also noticed Evelyn's concern for White over the past two days, and someone with ties to someone wouldn't follow a mercenary group on such a dangerous path.

This is something Bandusli had figured out a long time ago, and she would not force it.

Evelyn wasn't sure if the Baise leaves Violet had just picked would be enough. She knew Violet hadn't gone into the forest just for the herbs, but she wasn't sure if she had accomplished what she wanted.

Evelyn thought about Violet standing outside the tent in the early morning. It should be done, right?

In fact, Evelyn still didn't want to go with the mercenary team, not because of Princess Sophia, but because there were too many people in the mercenary team.

Violet has the ability to solve any problem, but hiding it from one person requires a different level of effort than hiding it from ten. Evelyn is confident that she can play dumb perfectly. She knows whatever Violet wants her to know, and she ignores anything Violet doesn't want her to know.

As for the others... Evelyn curled her lips. She still remembered the mercenaries' unfriendly attitude towards Violet.

Unaware of Evelyn's thoughts, Violet pondered for a moment and said, "The Baise leaves here are contaminated by the blood of the monsters, so their quality isn't perfect. We need to go further inside. I'll probably have to trouble you to take care of them along the way."

"We should clearly be thanking Lady Evelyn for her help." After hearing Vilt's words and seeing Evelyn's expression that she had the final say, Bandusli's eyes lit up, and she even used the honorific. "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out for pure Baise leaves along the way. I'll also arrange for mercenaries to accompany you in your collection."

"That's a bit too much trouble."

"Lady Evelyn has been of great help to the mercenary team along the way. I even felt that I had been a little neglectful." Bandusli said sincerely.

"Thank you," said Violet.

After confirming Vilt and Evelyn's next move, Bandusli felt relieved. She glanced at the time and said, "We'll be leaving in three minutes. We won't disturb your rest for now."

After saying that, Bandusili walked towards the other mercenaries.

Violet took out the knife she carried with her and carved a five-pointed star on the tree trunk nearby as a mark. "I'm not sure about the quality of the Baise Leaf inside. Let's mark it first. If it doesn't work, we'll come back."

"There will only be more monsters inside." Evelyn frowned, her face conflicted. After a moment's thought, she continued, "You should get closer to Princess Sophia. After all, this is her hired mercenary group, and those mercenaries will definitely protect their employers."

Nothing is more important than Violet's safety.

Seeing Evelin’s hesitation, Vilt laughed, “Okay, I know.”

"And..." Evelyn said, pulling out a number of magic scrolls from her space ring. "This is a teleportation scroll, this is an attack scroll, and this is a summoning scroll. These can all be used by ordinary people without magic. If I had known earlier, I would have saved a few more." Evelyn stuffed all these priceless scrolls into Vilt's hands and said without hesitation, "Use them!"

"These things are too expensive." This kind of scroll used by "ordinary people" is specially used to save the lives of nobles who have no magical talent. The cost is dozens of times more expensive than the magician's scroll.

“There’s no use for me keeping these things.” Evelin didn’t give Violet another chance to refuse. “Hurry up and put them away. I’m going to go ahead first.”

After saying that, Evelin squeezed Violet's hand and walked to the head of the team.

The warmth of Evelyn's touch still lingered on her skin. Vilt watched her back as she headed towards the head of the team, then looked at the scroll in her hand.

Bandusli's words had given her an idea; picking up a bargain was a good idea. Originally, Vilt was still wondering how a simple magician without any magic could appear authentic. Now, Evelyn presented her with the scroll.

All right. She wouldn't let Evelin lose money.
