Chapter 4 Su Wantang's heart fluttered

"sister in law--"

"Liu Hu, you're very free? Go back and run ten laps with weights on."

Liu Hu let out a wail, his eyes filled with resentment as he looked at Lu Huai'an.

Lu Ying deserves to be a bachelor, he has no wife to love him.

Without further ado, the three walked towards the parking spot.

Seeing his noticeably slower pace, Liu Hu thought to himself: "Lu Ying, you're such a hypocrite. You clearly like her, but you're just being stubborn. Keep acting like this. You'll regret it when your sister-in-law gets married to another man."

Once in the car, Liu Hu, the chatterbox, didn't say a word. Naturally, the two engaged couple, who didn't get along, didn't chat either. They closed their eyes, leaned back in their seats, and rested.

Su Wantang entered the space and continued to learn medical skills from the old man.

Learning has no end, and even with her past life experience, Su Wantang dared not be arrogant or complacent.

Moreover, she wasn't qualified; even in her previous life, she hadn't finished reading even half of the books in the room.

Lu Huai'an frowned in thought.

Since neither of them is willing, tell Grandpa that the marriage should be called off.

Liu Hu, who inadvertently caught a glimpse of this scene in the car mirror, couldn't help but chirp.

Look at their perfect understanding, what a well-matched couple.

pity...

Liu Hu shook his head and stepped on the gas.

Half an hour later, the military green car slowly came to a stop in the military compound.

"Land Camp, we've arrived."

Lu Huai'an opened his eyes and looked at Su Wantang beside him. She was still smiling in her sleep, as if she was having a sweet dream, and she was smiling like a flower.

"Call her."

"Huh?" Li Hu called out, "Sister-in-law, we've arrived."

Su Wantang's long eyelashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes.

"Sorry, I fell asleep."

"It's nothing." Liu Hu chuckled. "Sister-in-law, you're really beautiful. Sister-in-law, do you have any other sisters? Introduce me to them."

"No."

"Oh? What a pity..."

For some reason, Lu Huai'an found it somewhat irritating to see Su Wantang being so kind and gentle to her subordinates.

Su Wantang opened the car door and jumped out.

Lu Huai'an frowned, took a long stride, and got out of the car.

He turned to Liu Hu and said, "You go back first."

"Yes, Army Battalion."

Liu Hu drove away.

Lu Huai'an led Su Wantang to the guard at the door to register.

"Young Master Lu, and who is this gentleman?"

"Grandpa's old friend's granddaughter."

Knowing that the engagement would be called off sooner or later, Lu Huai'an didn't mention that Su Wantang was his fiancée.

I really don't want to have anything to do with her.

Su Wantang handed over the letter of introduction.

Upon seeing the capitalists listed above, the guard instinctively looked at Lu Huai'an.

Lu Huai'an nodded: "Grandpa, I've already reported it to the higher-ups."

The guard nodded, completed the registration, and then, as if suddenly remembering something, said something else.

"Young Master Lu, the old man just returned from the hospital."

Lu Huai'an thanked the guard and strode into the compound.

He was tall and had long legs, and because he was worried about Lu Yuanyang, he walked very fast. Su Wantang had no choice but to carry her luggage and hurry to catch up. As she followed, they started running.

The sound of hurried footsteps came from behind, and he stopped abruptly. Su Wantang almost lost her balance and bumped into his back.

Su Wantang glared at Lu Huai'an.

Before she could even open her mouth to accuse Lu Huai'an, she saw the man reach out his hand towards her.

"Give me your luggage."

"Don't overthink it. I'm just afraid that if Grandpa finds out, he'll point his finger at me and yell at me."

Is he afraid she'll tell on him?

Su Wantang swallowed back the "thank you" that was about to come out of her mouth, threw her luggage into Lu Huai'an's arms, raised her chin, and walked past Lu Huai'an like a proud little swan.

Once the luggage was in hand, Lu Huai'an realized it was pitifully light; he could lift it with just one finger.

Su Wantang took a couple of steps before realizing she didn't know the way.

Fortunately, Lu Huai'an caught up at this moment. She subtly slowed her pace and changed from walking in front of Lu Huai'an to walking behind him.

Su Wantang thought everything was done secretly, but little did she know that Lu Huai'an, who was above her and out of sight, unconsciously twitched the corner of his mouth.

Lu Huai'an's pace remained fast, but Su Wantang was able to keep up.

After walking for a while, Lu Huai'an pushed open the door of a courtyard and went inside.

Red brick bungalows with courtyards are standard features of military compound buildings.

There is an osmanthus tree in the courtyard.

The osmanthus flowers are in full bloom in September.

The pale yellow petals are layered upon each other, like ink washes in an oil painting, bright and beautiful.

The rich fragrance of osmanthus blossoms fills the air, bringing a sense of tranquility and joy.

As Su Wantang passed by the osmanthus tree, she couldn't help but stop and take a deep breath of its fragrance.

The footsteps behind him suddenly disappeared, and Lu Huai'an couldn't help but turn around.

At that moment, a gentle breeze blew by, and osmanthus blossoms fell softly like rain.

Su Wantang stood in the pale yellow rain, looking as beautiful as a fairy.

Seeing Lu Huai'an suddenly stop, Su Wantang asked in confusion, "Aren't you leaving?"

Lu Huai'an turned and went into the house.

A kind-looking woman dressed in coarse gray cloth heard the noise, wiped her hands on the blue floral apron tied around her waist, and came out of the kitchen.

"Huai'an, you're back?"

Lu Huai'an gave a brief "hmm" and introduced to Su Wantang, "This is Aunt Wang, who was sent by the higher-ups to take care of Grandpa's daily life."

He turned to Aunt Wang and said, "Aunt Wang, this is Su Wantang, the granddaughter of Grandpa's friend."

"Hello, Miss Wantang."

"Hello, Aunt Wang. You're too kind. You can call me Wan Tang or Tang Tang."

"Okay, then I'll call you Tangtang."

After the two finished exchanging brief pleasantries, Lu Huai'an asked, "Where is Grandpa?"

"The old commander is in his study."

"Aunt Wang, what happened this afternoon? Why did Grandpa end up in the hospital?"
