Chapter 79 I Don't Mind That You've Had Children

The start of the school season is approaching.

Teachers need to prepare a lot of things in advance for the start of the school year, and Shi Wan is no exception.

After changing her clothes, she grabbed a slice of freshly toasted bread and urged Lu Jingyan, who was frying an egg, "We're going to be late! I have to go first, I won't wait for you!"

Lu Jingyan reached out and pulled Shi Wan into his arms. "Wait a bit, I'll go with you."

Shi Wan glanced at the clock on the wall and immediately panicked, "Hurry up!"

Shi Wan glanced sideways at Lu Jingyan, who was still leisurely preparing breakfast, and was furious. She pouted and looked annoyed. "Hurry up!"

"Don't worry, you're the boss's wife, who would dare say anything to you?"

Shi Wan panicked even more because the school's owner was Lu Jingyan, and she couldn't afford to go against the grain.

Seeing that the girl was about to cry, Lu Jingyan coughed twice, pretending to be serious, "Let's go!" This little girl is really easy to tease.

As soon as Lu Jingyan got into the car, he received a call from Zhou Yuanda.

Shi Wan looked at the screen and saw more than a dozen missed calls, as well as the incoming call that had just come in.

"I'll go to the company after you drop me off."

Ever since An Cheng took her to Xindu, Lu Jingyan has stayed home with her every day, and sometimes he even follows her around when she goes out.

Last night, Zhou Yuan bombarded Lu Jingyan with phone calls non-stop. She could almost hear Zhou Yuan crying and begging Lu Jingyan to come back to the company on the phone.

But before the other party could finish speaking, this hands-off manager hung up the phone.

“Uncle Lu has been away from the company for a while, so you should go back and take charge of things. You can’t keep staying with me like this forever.”

Lu Jingyan held the steering wheel with one hand and squeezed Shi Wan's hand with the other, saying casually, "Wanwan, don't you trust your future husband? Don't worry, they can handle it themselves. Don't listen to their pointless complaints."

Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang in the car. Lu Jingyan glanced at the caller ID and hung up immediately.

However, he did underestimate Zhou Yuan, who seemed determined not to give up until he found the boss.

Just as the two arrived at the school gate, Zhou Yuan's phone rang again. Shi Wan glanced at the caller ID and said softly, "I'll go in for a meeting first. Come back and find me after you finish this call."

Watching Shi Wan's departing figure, Lu Jingyan heard another incoming call notification in the car. He rubbed his forehead and pressed the answer button.

"You'd better be busy."

Zhou Yuan was surprised that his boss answered the phone so quickly this time. After a slight pause, he immediately said, "Boss, we have too many important contracts backlogged this time, and they all require your signature!"

Lu Jingyan remained silent with a sullen face, and Zhou Yuan immediately added, "Boss, these are all documents that we cannot sign on your behalf. You just need to take a look and sign them."

During this period, he went to the old house every day to coax the chairman, but he was always turned away.

In the end, when the boss told the security guards not to let him into the community, he switched to making phone calls. The calls either got hung up on or he was told to come find Lu Jingyan.

We also need to give him a good talking-to:

Zhou Yuan, who did you think recruited you? Was it me? No way. Go find the company that hired you. I'm a retired old man; I can't interfere in your affairs. You young people should take advantage of your youth to explore and learn, and boldly take risks.

Zhou Yuan: ...

To dissuade Zhou Yuan from listening to him, I specifically reminded him: How much money does the company spend on you every year? What's the point of recruiting so many outstanding talents? Young people, you still lack drive.

Zhou Yuan: ...

So he had to turn his attention back to his own boss, who initially managed to answer a few calls and host some online meetings.

Later, he simply shut down his phone, to the point that now he has to chair company meetings, but today's documents require the boss's personal signature, so he has no choice but to grit his teeth and call repeatedly to urge him on.

This is a multi-billion dollar project; even if you cut off his head, he wouldn't dare sign it on behalf of the boss.

Lu Jingyan glanced at the teaching building and said in a cold tone, "Deliver the documents to Sophie Kindergarten within one hour."

"Yes!" Zhou Yuan jumped up excitedly, his thigh bumping against the table leg, and hopped out carrying dozens of documents.

Ten minutes later, Zhou Yuan appeared in the principal's office on time.

Lu Jingyan leaned back lazily in his swivel chair, while the old director stood respectfully to the side.

Seeing Zhou Yuan enter, covered in sweat and carrying documents, the headmaster wiped the thin layer of sweat from his forehead. His savior had finally arrived, and he was finally free.

Just as I was about to turn around, Lu Jingyan's voice came from behind me, "You two stay in the office and help out. The vice dean will preside over any school work-related meetings."

Sigh! How could a school principal possibly help a big boss with paperwork?

Zhou Yuan, standing to the side, was much calmer than the dean. He stood respectfully to the side with his head down, as if afraid that the boss might quit at any moment.

The school teachers waited in the conference room for a long time but the dean did not come to preside over the meeting. Instead, the vice dean hurriedly came in, gave some instructions on pre-opening preparations, and then hastily ended the meeting.

Although no one understood why the meeting ended so abruptly, no one said much, since school was about to start and everyone wanted to take as many days as possible.

Shi Wan walked out of the meeting room, picked up a bucket of water, and headed to the classroom of the class she was in charge of. Thinking that Lu Jingyan would need some time to process the documents, she decided to clean the classroom first.

I had just brought the water into the classroom and opened the window facing the corridor when I saw a tall, slender figure leaning against the doorway.

Shi Wan glanced at the other person, paused in her hand movements, and then pulled the window shut.

Just as the window was about to close, Feng Yunzhou stepped forward and blocked the glass window that was about to close, while grabbing Shi Wan's hand that was holding the window frame with his other hand.

"Xiao Wan..."

Shi Wan pushed the window with her right hand, but couldn't move it, so she finally gave up.

Feng Yunzhou stared intently at Shi Wan, as if he had a lot to say to her.

Shi Wan turned her face away from him and said, "Let go!" The coldness in her eyes made Feng Yunzhou panic.

Feng Yunzhou pursed his lips, his voice slightly hoarse, "Xiao Wan, I miss you."

Shi Wan scoffed as if she had heard a joke, her disgust in her eyes growing even more obvious.

"Is Mr. Feng perhaps forgetting that he has a wife?"

"Xiao Wan, it's my fault. I shouldn't have scolded you back then, and I shouldn't have suspected that you pushed Jiang Le."

Shi Wan forcefully shook off Feng Yunzhou's restraints, "Enough, Feng Yunzhou!"

"Xiao Wan... I've broken off my engagement with her. Will you come back to me?" Her voice was tinged with suppressed emotion.

"I saw the photo of Lu Jingyan holding you a year ago, Xiao Wan. I don't care what happened between you two behind my back. I only want you."

"What?" Shi Wan looked up at Feng Yunzhou in confusion.

The man lowered his voice and continued, "I know that Lu Jingyan knew you before I did. He was the one who kept you company when I wasn't in Y country. I don't mind what you two did behind my back."

"So, can you forgive me for what happened between Lin Zhiyu and me? I don't even mind that you and Lu Jingyan had a child together..."

"Slap!" A crisp slap echoed through the empty corridor.
