Episode 119 - Drunken Kiss Goes Out of Control

The confusing trap of the victory celebration

I. A Luxurious Opening

Inside the luxurious celebratory banquet hall, crystal chandeliers cast dazzling light, illuminating the table laden with exquisite delicacies and expensive champagne. Tonight's banquet was to celebrate the company's successful acquisition of a major project; celebrities from all walks of life had gathered, and the atmosphere was lively and festive, filled with laughter and clinking glasses.

Ah Yu, dressed in a well-tailored black suit, moved gracefully through the crowd, exchanging pleasantries with the guests. He smiled, but a hint of weariness lingered in his eyes. He had endured immense pressure during the project's development, and now that it was a success, it should have been a time for relaxation and enjoyment. However, the numerous complexities surrounding him recently made it difficult for him to truly rejoice.

Lin Wanqing, like a beautiful butterfly, wore a gorgeous red evening gown that perfectly accentuated her graceful figure. She moved among the crowd, her eyes occasionally drifting towards Ah Yu, a faint smile playing on her lips.

II. Hidden Conspiracy

Amidst the laughter and clinking of glasses, Lin Wanqing subtly signaled to the waiter beside her to leave while Ah Yu was talking to someone. Then, seemingly casually, she approached the table where Ah Yu's wine glass was placed, her hand stealthily reaching into a hidden pocket of her evening gown to pull out a small paper packet. She quickly glanced around, making sure no one was watching, and then poured white powder into Ah Yu's glass with practiced ease. The powder instantly dissolved into the wine and disappeared, as if it had never been there.

Lin Wanqing picked up the wine glass, gently swirled it to mix the powder with the wine, and a sly smile appeared on her face. Holding the glass, she walked gracefully towards Ah Yu, like a fox locking onto its prey.

"Ah Yu, you are undoubtedly the hero tonight. This glass of wine must be toasted to you." Lin Wanqing's voice was soft and melodious, like a nightingale singing.

Ah Yu turned around and saw the wine glass Lin Wanqing offered him. He was slightly taken aback, but then gave a polite smile. His interactions with Lin Wanqing over this period of time had made him realize that this woman was not simple, but at this lively celebration banquet, he didn't think much of it and simply took it as a normal congratulation.

"Thank you." Ah Yu took the glass and downed it in one gulp. The spicy liquor flowed down his throat, but he didn't notice anything unusual about it.

III. Onset of Drug Effect

Not long after, Ah Yu felt a strong wave of dizziness wash over him. His vision began to blur, and the laughter and chatter of the people around him seemed to fade away, becoming unreal and ethereal. His legs went weak, and his body swayed uncontrollably.

Lin Wanqing had been watching Ah Yu's reaction closely. Seeing his expression, she was secretly pleased, but pretended to be concerned.

"Ah Yu, what's wrong? Are you too tired?" Lin Wanqing hurriedly stepped forward, took Ah Yu's arm, and asked anxiously.

Ah Yu tried to steady herself, but found that her consciousness was becoming increasingly blurred. She could only answer with her last bit of willpower: "I...I'm fine. I probably drank the wine too quickly."

"Why don't you go to the restroom and wash your face to clear your head?" Lin Wanqing suggested, while helping Ah Yu walk towards the restroom in the private room.

IV. Misidentification and Loss of Control

On his way to the restroom, Ah Yu's consciousness grew increasingly hazy. As he bumped into Lin Wanqing's shoulder, the figure before him blurred and gradually overlapped with Zhong Hua's. He mistook the beauty mark at the corner of Lin Wanqing's eye for the familiar birthmark on Zhong Hua's face. The pain and doubts about Zhong Hua's "betrayal" that had been building up in his heart for days suddenly erupted like a flood.

Ah Yu suddenly slammed Lin Wanqing against the wall, gripping her shoulders tightly with such force that it seemed he wanted to embed her into the wall. His eyes were bloodshot as he stared straight at Lin Wanqing, as if trying to see right through her.

"Why did you lie to me...why..." Ah Yu's voice was hoarse and painful, as if every word was squeezed out from the bottom of her heart.

Lin Wanqing was startled by Ah Yu's sudden action, but she immediately closed her eyes, a smug smile playing on her lips. She didn't resist; instead, she reveled in Ah Yu's loss of control, letting him loosen her tie.

As her tie loosened, the pendant around Lin Wanqing's neck slipped off, revealing a yellowed photograph. It was a picture of young Ah Yu with her neighbor's older sister; the photo was faded, but the innocent smiles on their faces were still clearly visible.

V. The Secret of the Photograph

In a daze, Ah Yu's gaze fell on the yellowed photograph. The familiar scene and the familiar face instantly pulled his thoughts back to his childhood. In those carefree days, the older sister next door was always by his side, giving him warmth and care, which were his most beautiful childhood memories.

"Sister..." Ah Yu murmured to himself, a hint of confusion and longing flashing in his eyes. At this moment, he seemed to have forgotten that the person in front of him was Lin Wanqing, and was immersed in that beautiful memory.

Lin Wanqing slightly opened her eyes, looking at the complex expression on Ah Yu's face, and pondered to herself. She knew the importance of this photo to Ah Yu, and it was precisely because of this that she had set up this scheme. She wanted to use this method to further control Ah Yu, to draw him into the web of emotions she had woven, and thus use him for her own purposes.

"Ah Yu, I've always been here..." Lin Wanqing said softly, her voice as gentle as a spring breeze. She slowly raised her hand and gently stroked Ah Yu's face, trying to make him sink deeper into this false haven of tenderness.

Meanwhile, the party outside the private room continued with great fanfare, and no one noticed the chaotic yet intriguing scene unfolding inside. The music, laughter, and Ah Yu's murmurs mingled together, creating a bizarre and eerie symphony. Behind this lavish celebration lay the complexities of human nature, the intertwining of desires, and the ever-growing conspiracy.
