Chapter 568: Not an Accident
The car came quickly, like lightning, rushing towards Huo Juncheng with a huge force that seemed to break through the sky.
Huo Juncheng frowned slightly, his heart tightening as he watched the car rushing towards him without a care in the world. He couldn't help but be surprised. After a moment, he realized what was happening.
This car is coming for me!
Did they dare to attack him so brazenly in a crowded place? Were they seeking revenge for the last shooting?
Too bold, are they assassins? Thinking of the man who set himself on fire in the warehouse before, a bad premonition suddenly surged in my heart.
He could hardly help but think about it.
Huo Juncheng immediately turned around, stretched out his long legs, and ran away.
“Beep—”
The car was still chasing relentlessly, with no intention of slacking off. The driver was turning the steering wheel frantically, with a ferocious look on his face, his eyes fixed on the direction of Huo Juncheng, chasing him and never giving up.
While Huo Juncheng was running wildly, he looked back and saw that the car was still approaching him at a speeding speed. He coldly wiped the sweat from his forehead, revealed a faint smile of disdain, turned his head to look at the road ahead, and suddenly an idea came to his mind.
"Who is that person?"
Huo Juncheng couldn't help but feel puzzled, but he showed no intention of stopping and ran all the way to the end of the street and turned the corner into the alley.
The alley was deep and narrow, a passage that cars could not enter. It was a good place to avoid disaster. Huo Juncheng's chest was heaving, and he slowed down his pace only when he reached the alley.
While looking back at the car that was still following closely, Huo Juncheng took out his cell phone and started dialing Zhang's number.
"Hello?"
Chief Zhang's voice came from the other end of the phone.
Huo Juncheng said calmly, "There's a car blocking the alley at the corner of the street. It looks like it's here with bad intentions. Chief Zhang, come and help me!"
"Huh? Is there such a thing? I'll be there right away!"
Zhang Suo agreed in shock, and then headed towards the alley.
Huo Juncheng leaned against the wall of the alley, his eyes trembling, and turned to look at the car.
The car obviously had no intention of leaving. It stopped there, waiting for the opportunity to rush towards him and take his life.
"Everyone in the car get out!"
At this moment, a cold and stern shout suddenly rang out in the alley. Huo Juncheng turned around and saw that it was Zhang Suo who came.
Huo Juncheng relaxed a little.
When the people in the car saw that it was the police, they immediately panicked, sighed helplessly, and became a little annoyed.
"Zhang Suo!"
Huo Juncheng happily walked towards Zhang Suo.
Zhang Suo came in front of Huo Juncheng and asked with concern, "How are you? Are you okay?"
Huo Juncheng nodded, "Nothing."
The people in the car looked at the alley irritably, thinking that if they still rushed in at this time, it would definitely be more trouble than gain, so they turned the car around in frustration and ran away.
“Hey! Stop!”
Zhang Suo ran out angrily, trying to catch up with the car, but the car fled away in a hurry.
Huo Juncheng looked at the car that was speeding away, sighed softly, frowned slightly, and wondered what was going on.
Zhang had no choice but to stop and look back at Huo Juncheng. "It's good that you're not injured. Let's go back to the police station and check the surveillance footage!"
Huo Juncheng nodded, "Okay, thank you, Chief Zhang."
Zhang Suo smiled softly, "Don't say thank you, just be safe!"
After leaving the alley, Huo Juncheng and Zhang Suo returned to the police station.
Chief Zhang immediately sent people to investigate the surveillance footage during that period and waited in the monitoring room for the truth of the incident to be revealed.
Huo Juncheng stood aside silently, watching silently, his heart beating, silently thinking about what was going on.
Zhang watched the surveillance camera carefully. Huo Juncheng, realizing something, moved closer, staring at the screen thoughtfully. "The surveillance footage shows this car is well-prepared, and its target is you!" Zhang observed and analyzed.
Huo Juncheng naturally understood, and he nodded slightly, "Let's see if we can find any clues from this car." The surveillance footage was still playing, and the car quickly rushed towards Huo Juncheng.
"The car did rush towards you suddenly. It was obviously a murder case." Zhang analyzed calmly.
Huo Juncheng looked at the surveillance footage carefully, and now he roughly understood that this car was deliberately coming to kill him.
"It's a good thing that you arrived in time, Chief Zhang, otherwise it's hard to imagine what would have happened!" The police officer on duty who was helping to adjust the surveillance footage sighed.
Huo Juncheng nodded, "That's right." After watching the surveillance video, Zhang sighed, "This car doesn't even have a license plate number. It's really a headache!"
Huo Juncheng remained calm and looked at Zhang Suo.
Zhang Suo said, "It seems you've been targeted. I've sent someone to protect you. Please be careful." Huo Juncheng already had an idea in his mind. "Thank you, Zhang Suo. I think he might have done this."
Looking at Huo Juncheng's thoughtful expression, Zhang Suo also thought of that person, "Are you talking about Smith?"
Huo Juncheng curled his lips slightly to indicate affirmation.
"There are such speculations, and there is also certainty, but there is no evidence. This is really a headache!"
Huo Juncheng turned his eyes away, understanding what Zhang Suo meant. "Yes, this is the only way for now!"
After handling the car murder case, Zhang sent people to protect Huo Juncheng.
With suspicion about the incident and wary of Smith, Huo Juncheng said goodbye to Zhang and left the police station.
Huo Juncheng went all the way home.
On the way, his heart was still in turmoil. He thought that the matter could not be left unresolved like this, and he became more vigilant against Smith.
The car stopped at the doorstep. Huo Juncheng got out and walked forward with long strides. His expression was calm, and there was no sign that he had just been nearly killed.
As he approached the door, he seemed to hear faint screams. Huo Juncheng couldn't help but frown and immediately felt worried.
"ah--"
Is this Sister Xiu’s cry for help?
Huo Juncheng paused and rushed back home. As soon as he entered the room, he saw Lin Yilan pinching Sister Xiu's throat, while Sister Xiu was struggling frantically.
Huo Juncheng frowned, feeling somewhat helpless. He quickly flew over and rescued Sister Xiu from Lin Yilan's hands.
Lin Yilan was in a trance, looking so confused and still struggling. Huo Juncheng had no choice but to stop her. Lin Yilan trembled in his arms, like a torn little animal, her hands still struggling.
Huo Juncheng hugged Lin Yilan tightly, with heartache flashing in his eyes. The only thing he could do now was to hold her in his arms.
"Ah. I'm so scared!" Sister Xiu tried her best to calm herself down, rubbing her neck and looking at Huo Juncheng, "What happened to the young lady?"
