Chapter 106 The Colonel Returns, Field Battle 2

Before long, a large group of people entered.

Ling Ruoke suddenly felt extremely nervous, but this nervousness subsided somewhat when she recognized that the first few people to walk in were women. "Y-hello."

"Are you new here? What's your name?" The people were quite enthusiastic, and they surrounded her as soon as they saw her.

"My name is Ling Ruoke, and I just arrived."

"My name is Mu Yu."

Ling Ruoke answered each question with a smile, and Mu Yu introduced her to the other people one by one. Then she took her to the cafeteria for a meal. Men and women sat at long tables, heads down, eating heartily. Judging by their eating habits, it was impossible to tell them apart.

Ling Ruoke also spotted a cheetah. Her gaze happened to be directed this way, and it was cold and eerie.

After they finished eating, they all went back out to continue training. Ling Ruoke stared blankly as everyone ran out, feeling as if she had been isolated from their world.

Alone in the tent, she practiced folding paper into neat squares repeatedly. She had participated in military training during college, so she had learned the basics. It was just that so much time had passed, and she had to recall them all.

When Muyu returned from training that evening, she talked to her for a long time. Most of the time, she talked about how monstrous cheetahs are. However, it was soon lights out.

Ling Ruoke lay in bed, feeling uneasy about what lay ahead. It took her a long time to fall asleep, and just as she drifted off, a whistle blared through Qingfeng. She sat up groggily.

"If possible, hurry up and get dressed so we can assemble!"

"oh."

The moment Ling Ruoke rushed out of the tent with her backpack, her hellish ordeal began.

...

Three months have passed in the blink of an eye.

As Huo Qingfeng jumped into his Hummer, started the engine, and headed home, he felt less like a soldier and more like an eighteen-year-old boy going to see the girl he had his eye on.

Fu Peigang, sitting in the passenger seat, felt the exact same way.

The two barely spoke a word the entire way. They arrived home around dusk.

Huo Qingfeng first dropped Fu Peigang off downstairs, then immediately reversed the car and sped off towards his own building.

He jumped out of the Hummer and rushed upstairs. The moment he took out his keys and opened the door, his expression froze. The empty house smelled musty, as if no one had lived there for a long time.

He slammed the door shut, turned and flew downstairs, then jumped into the Hummer.

The neighbor, who was about to greet him, watched in astonishment as he jumped into his car and sped away.

...

Tan Peishi had just gotten home from work and collapsed onto the sofa. The company was just getting on track, and there was so much to handle. She had to constantly find clients and keep the company afloat. She felt completely exhausted.

In her heart, the wound from Fu Peigang's departure hadn't healed, and now Ruoke had disappeared. The dual torment of body and mind left her skin and bones. But she didn't want to rest, because if she stopped, her mind would wander to Fu Peigang and Ruoke, making the ordeal even more unbearable.

Hearing hurried footsteps outside the door, Tan Peishi instinctively sat up. Then, with a wry smile, she leaned back down. Fu Peigang's footsteps were always this urgent when he came home; it was easy to recognize.

Before she could even wipe the bitter smile from her face, she heard the sound of the lock being opened. Startled, she jumped back to her feet. Was it a thief? She quickly stood up, frantically searching for something to use as a weapon. Unfortunately, before she could find anything suitable, the door was already pushed open.

She turned around in a panic, but when she saw the face and figure of the person who came in, she was stunned and opened her mouth wide, her face full of disbelief.

"Honey, I'm home." A familiar voice, a familiar tone. A familiar person.

Tan Peishi's lips were trembling. "Fu Peigang?"

“It’s me, my wife.” Fu Peigang looked at the thin woman with heartache.

Tan Peishi screamed and rushed over to hug him tightly around the waist. "Fu Peigang! You're alive! You're alive! Am I dreaming? Am I dreaming? No, this isn't a dream, it's not..."

She was incoherent and her body was trembling violently.

Fu Peigang hugged her tightly, using his body heat to tell her that he was still alive. "Wife, I'm back, everything's alright!" The person in his arms was terribly thin; his waist was so slender that he could wrap his fingers around it.

"I'm sorry, my wife." A thousand words can be summed up in just this one sentence. As a soldier's wife, she has endured far too much.

After a long while, Tan Peishi slowly released her arms and raised her head little by little. Tears streamed down her face, one by one. Yet, a smile graced her lips.

She raised her hand and carefully touched his face. His warm body told her this wasn't a dream. She chuckled, tears streaming down her face. "Fu Peigang, you're alive! You're really alive!"

She hugged his neck tightly, burying her face in the crook of his neck. She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face. You're still alive, thank God!

The two embraced tightly, sharing each other's body heat. This parting was longer and more painful than any before.

When the two found each other's lips, they bit and gnawed at each other like madmen, tearing at each other's clothes.

The doorbell, oblivious to the danger, rang loudly at that moment.

Fu Peigang held his wife in his arms, took a deep breath, and tried to calm his almost out-of-control desire.

When Huo Qingfeng's voice rang out from outside the door, he immediately calmed down. He hurriedly straightened his clothes and ran to open the door.

The door opened, and Huo Qingfeng rushed in like a rocket. "Tan Peishi, what about Ruoke?"

Tan Peishi shook her head, pursing her lips and avoiding his eyes. "She didn't believe you were gone, so she insisted on looking for you. One night she left me a note and left, and I haven't been able to find her since."

"I understand." Huo Qingfeng left those four words and turned to leave.

"Hey, Captain!" Tan Peishi tried to call out to him, but he had already disappeared. A pang of sadness shot through her heart; the captain had finally returned, but Ruoke was gone again.

Huo Qingfeng returned home, cleaned up, and then had a good night's sleep. Before going to bed, he booked a flight to T City for the next morning.

I woke up and headed straight to T City.

...

Hell on Earth, the top floor.

The wolf leaned back on the sofa, leisurely sipping his red wine.

He couldn't hide his admiration for the person who had managed to break through his defenses and enter. Although he was also injured, to defeat so many experts in such a short time—truly a talent!

"Where is Ling Ruoke?" Huo Qingfeng stood with blood still flowing from one of his arms, seemingly unaware of it, without even frowning.

The wolf toyed with the cup in his hand, his gaze nonchalant. "It's with me. But I won't let you take her away. This is a deal between us."

"What kind of deal?" Huo Qingfeng's eyes flashed. By combining the events in country X with Tan Peishi's words, he could basically guess the answer.

The wolf smiled slightly. "I'll find someone for her. She agreed to any of my conditions, including her health and life. She's not in danger now, you can rest assured."

"Can I see her?" He wanted to see for himself to make sure she was alright.

"No. Someone, show the guest out."

Huo Qingfeng glanced at him, then turned and strode away. Knowing that Ruoke was safe was enough!

The wolf watched his departing figure and raised an eyebrow. There weren't many people in this world who could stand him, but Sharp Blade was one of them.

Huo Qingfeng left this hellish place and checked into a hotel. He sat down at his computer and began researching relevant data. He was no stranger to the Sirius Gang and the Wild Wolf Gang. In this era where right and wrong were inextricably intertwined, the Sirius Gang's backing was unimaginably powerful.

He also discovered that the Sirius Gang had its own base, a military-like base! In a country with a military, the fact that a civilian could have his own army speaks volumes about the strength of his backing.

The wolf wouldn't hide Ruoke, he was certain of that. Therefore, the area where Ruoke might be located could be narrowed down.

...

Early morning. The last line of defense at a certain base.

Two figures darted about, exchanging blows, their fists and feet whistling through the air.

The fight finally stopped after a long while. But no one had won or lost, as if the two were meant to be evenly matched.

Huo Qingfeng wasn't surprised to see the familiar face before him. The Sky Wolf Gang's base wasn't one he could infiltrate silently. It wasn't lacking in talent. And the cheetah before him was none other than the once-renowned genius.

"A sharp blade."

"Cheetah".

The cheetah smirked. "It's been years, and your skills have only grown more impressive."

"Likewise." Huo Qingfeng and Cheetah were in the same batch of special training team members and even partners. Unfortunately, Cheetah had personality flaws and was too violent. Later, during a mission, she was discharged from the military because of the death of a prisoner. Unexpectedly, she became a member of the Sky Wolf Gang.

"I want to see Ling Ruoke."

The cheetah raised an eyebrow. "Fine. You beat me."

"good."

The two started fighting again.

When a dagger was pressed against the cheetah's carotid artery, she laughed. "You win."

"Thank you." Huo Qingfeng sheathed his dagger and strode away. He glanced around briefly before heading towards one of the tents.

"Captain Ling, should we—"

“No! He’s just here to see people; he won’t do anything else. I’ll take responsibility if there are any problems.” They used to be partners and know each other too well.

Huo Qingfeng silently slipped into the tent, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings before heading towards one of the beds. The person on the upper bunk was fast asleep, but the relaxed state he usually exuded when sleeping was gone. His beloved long hair was now spiky, just like his own.

My heart ached. At the same time, I felt a sense of relief. She was alright.

He cleverly covered her mouth while carrying her quickly away from the tent.

"Mmm mmm mmm..." Ling Ruoke struggled, trying her best to use the skills she had trained in these past few days.

Running to a secluded corner, Huo Qingfeng loosened his grip slightly, and she rolled off his arms, then launched an attack on him.

These attacks were nothing to Huo Qingfeng. He only used 30% of his strength to deal with her.

But she stopped after only a short while. Staring in disbelief at the person before her, she whispered, "Qingfeng?"

Huo Qingfeng smiled and opened his arms. "Wife, I'm back."

Ling Ruoke smiled and threw herself into his arms, feeling that everything had been worthwhile. "Qingfeng, Qingfeng, Qingfeng..." she chanted his name repeatedly, as if reciting a mantra.

Huo Qingfeng chuckled and hugged her. "Wife, I'm really here."

They hugged each other tightly, feeling as if they owned the whole world—an indescribable feeling.

"Qingfeng, I feel that all of this is so wonderful! I feel that God has been very kind to me!"

"Fool." Huo Qingfeng chuckled and scolded, then lowered his head to kiss his long-missed lips.

Ling Ruoke paused for a moment, then immediately responded warmly. After such a long separation, what could be more wonderful than kissing and having each other again!

Overwhelmed by lust, Huo Qingfeng scooped her up and rushed into the dense forest.

At first, Ling Ruoke was a little shy. Using the sky as a blanket and the ground as a bed was too daring, and she found it hard to accept.

However, Huo Qingfeng gave her no chance to be shy. The fire of passion quickly scorched her senses, leaving her only able to follow his rhythm and immerse herself in this lovemaking.

In a corner of the base, two people were standing.

"Captain Ling, shall we blow it now?"

The cheetah looked towards a grove of trees and grinned coldly. "Blow!"

The whistle rang out.

"Emergency assembly!" Ling Ruoke suddenly woke up, pushed away the person on top of her and started getting dressed.

Huo Qingfeng watched her actions and let out a low growl of frustration. "Damn it, she must have done it on purpose!"

"I'm leaving!" She still remembered his presence, gave him a peck on the cheek, and rushed out.

Huo Qingfeng slammed his fist into the ground! He was certain that the cheetah had done it on purpose!

Another place.

The cheetah paced slowly back and forth in front of the group, its gaze occasionally sweeping over someone, without uttering a sound for a long time. Later, it scolded and punished Ling Ruoke for being late.

"Attention, everyone! At ease! Dismissed!"

Everyone looked at each other, somewhat bewildered. Only Ling Ruoke remembered Qingfeng's words and understood that the cheetah was deliberately messing with them. In other words, the cheetah anticipated they would go into the forest to do *that*? Her face flushed crimson!

Everyone went back to sleep, but she stood there looking around, trying to find him. After a while, she turned and ran towards the woods.

Halfway there, she was suddenly grabbed by a hand. Luckily, the familiar scent prevented her from screaming.

"I knew it, Cheetah was deliberately messing with me." Huo Qingfeng was full of dissatisfaction.

Ling Ruoke hugged his waist, her mood unaffected. She felt everything was already perfect and there was no need to dwell on these things. "It's okay, I feel very happy."

"If your husband gets too pent up, you'll have no sexual happiness for the rest of your life." Huo Qingfeng was still angry. Being interrupted halfway through was a real problem.

Ling Ruoke blushed and chuckled. She actually found the cheetah quite cute. This behavior was like a child deliberately sabotaging something because they couldn't stand seeing their friend get something good.

"No. Let's keep going!" Colonel Huo hoisted the man onto his shoulder and leaped into the woods.

Ling Ruoke smiled brightly on his shoulder. She thought to herself that this clandestine affair was quite exciting.

In the same spot, Colonel Huo's movements were even more hurried than before; he really didn't want to go through that painful experience again. "Wife, even if she blows the whistle this time, don't do anything about it!"

He just said that, knowing in his heart that it was a natural reaction, and it had nothing to do with whether or not he cared.

Ling Ruoke just looked at him and smiled, without answering.

Colonel Huo growled and bent down to gnaw on the bone, like a big dog that hadn't seen a meaty bone in a long time.

Ling Ruoke relaxed her body, her smile remaining on her face. The person on top of her seemed dissatisfied with her lack of focus and bit her chest hard, causing her to let out a soft cry of pain.

"Wife, now you can only think of me," Colonel Huo commanded domineeringly. He used every trick in the book to make her remember only his existence.

Ling Ruoke wrapped her arms around his back, closed her eyes, and her senses became exceptionally clear and subtle. The anticipation in her heart was something she had never imagined before. When emotions run deep and a long-awaited reunion is over, it seems that only mutual merging can express them.

Sex is a very delicate part of love and marriage. Only when you reach a certain age do you understand its importance and how to treat it.

This time, the cheetah didn't blow the whistle, which shows that she's actually a pretty kind person.

When the passion subsided, Huo Qingfeng embraced his beloved woman and let out a satisfied sigh.

Ling Ruoke lay quietly against his chest, feeling limp and lazy all over. She doubted she could even get up if they were to gather for the next exercise. But she really didn't want to go back; she wanted to stay with him a little longer, just a little longer!

The night was still. The night sky was pitch black, with only a few scattered stars. The moon had disappeared, hiding somewhere.

"Honey, you should go back to sleep." Otherwise, she definitely won't be able to get up early tomorrow. Besides, the cheetah might call for another emergency drill at any time. He knows this kind of trick all too well.

Ling Ruoke responded and sat up. "Are you going back to Z City tomorrow?"

"Mmm. But I'll come over whenever I have time. Honey, I'll miss you." The man hugged her and gave her another deep, lingering kiss.

Ling Ruoke smiled and responded softly, "Mm."

Neither of them asked or mentioned when she could go home. But both of them knew in their hearts that day would eventually come. It was just that they would have to wait until the wolves had had their fill of playing.

Ling Ruoke might not understand yet, but Huo Qingfeng had already figured it out. However, he didn't say it; he wouldn't be foolish enough to speak well of other men in front of his wife.

The two walked hand in hand out of the woods. They stopped at the edge of the woods. Their eyes met, filled with deep affection.

"Let's go back." Huo Qingfeng hugged her tightly again, kissed her, and then let go of her arms.

Ling Ruoke kissed him on the cheek, then turned and ran towards the tent. She didn't look back until she was inside.

Huo Qingfeng smiled slightly. He quickly turned around to meet the person who had suddenly attacked from somewhere.
