Chapter 171 Between Life and Death

Jiang's Private Kitchen was raided by soldiers, from the owner to the staff. It looks like their home is being ransacked!

In no time, the streets were packed with onlookers, who pointed and whispered among themselves.

When Jiang Shan was being wheeled out bound hand and foot, his mind was still a mess.

What is meant to be will be; if it is meant to be, there is no escaping it!

She looked anxiously at the tied-up shop assistants and staff, but didn't see An Jing or the children, which brought her some relief.

"My lord, we've captured them all!" a guard said as he approached the mounted general.

The general, his face dark, swept his gaze over the bound men and said coldly, "Who's in charge?"

Jiang Shan was pushed out and fell heavily to the ground.

She cried out in pain, and the next second, a figure descended from the sky and lifted her up from the ground.

An Yi held Jiang Huai's hand with his left hand and supported Jiang Shan with his right, coldly watching the person on horseback.

"Never mind me, take Jiang Huai to your parents, hurry up!" Jiang Shan shouted at An Yi, enduring the excruciating pain.

An Yi glanced around coldly and said, "An Er will be here soon. We will protect you and the young master as we rush out!"

"No! They outnumber us, don't fight them head-on. Quickly take Jiang Huai to the prefectural capital to find Fu Qiyuan, he will definitely have a solution!"

The general on horseback immediately recognized that An Yi was no ordinary person. He drew his sword, pointed it at An Yi, and shouted, "Take him down!"

Several guards rushed over and engaged An Yi in battle.

Holding Jiang Huai in his arms, An Yi's every move was fraught with danger, scaring Jiang Shan out of his wits.

"Stop fighting! An Yi, run! Take Huai'er with you and leave me behind!"

Ignoring everything else, An Yi drew his sword and charged at the ever-growing number of guards. Amidst the flashing blades, some guards were kicked away by An Yi, while others were directly stabbed and rendered incapable of fighting.

Seeing that the situation was spiraling out of control, a carriage slowly drove up, and a dignified female voice came from inside: "Stop!"

The fighting stopped, and Jiang Shan seized the opportunity to shout desperately at An Yi: "An Yi, run!"

An Yi glanced back at Jiang Shan, stunned by the deep fear and worry in her eyes. Sheathed his sword, picked up Jiang Huai, and leaped onto the roof, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Jiang Shan collapsed to the ground.

"Greetings, Grand Princess!" All the soldiers dismounted and knelt in worship, and the onlookers also knelt down to pay their respects.

Grand Princess! Jiang Shan's heart skipped a beat, and his heart leaped into his throat.

For a split second, I wanted to beat Rong Yue to death.

The carriage stopped, the curtain was pulled back, and a woman dressed in elegant attire was helped down from the carriage by her maid.

The woman was dressed in a luxurious light purple brocade, adorned with silks and satins, pearls and jade ornaments, exuding natural wealth and elegance that belied her age.

She glanced around, then gave the leading general a brief look. "Where is the heir apparent?"

"Your Highness, I have not seen the Crown Prince!"

The Grand Princess glanced at Jiang Shan out of the corner of her eye, then strode into the shop, saying, "Bring her here!"

...

Fu Li ran to the bamboo hut in one breath and knelt down before Mr. Xunmei, crying out, "Sir, save us! The Grand Princess and her guards have surrounded the shop, and Miss and all the shop assistants have been tied up! Please, sir, go and stop the Grand Princess immediately, or Miss will be in grave danger!"

"What!" Mr. Xunmei almost choked on his breath. He spun around in a panic and said, "Where is Prince Rong? Where did that brat run off to? Come, come, take me there quickly!"

"Teacher, I'm going too!" Sanlang rushed out and ran off as fast as he could.

At the same time, Fu Qiyuan and Fu Shu also rode their horses at full speed and encountered An Yi and Jiang Huai. The four of them ran together towards Tianjie.

"How is Shan'er? Why aren't you protecting her?" Fu Qiyuan was both anxious and angry, and he whipped the black horse he was riding.

An Yi pursed her lips and said, "Miss ordered me to bring the young master to you!"

"Give the child to Fu Shu, you go first, and protect Shan'er no matter what!"

...

"You're the owner of Jiang's Private Kitchen?" The Grand Princess looked coldly at the woman kneeling in front of her, her exquisitely beautiful eyes revealing no emotion.

Jiang Shan glanced down at the blood seeping from his knee, gritted his teeth, and looked up to say, "It's me."

"How dare you look directly at the Grand Princess! Slap her!" The maid beside the Grand Princess said, raising her hand to slap Jiang Shan across the face.

Jiang Shan dodged the attack by tilting his head, and said angrily, "What law have we broken that you came to our door and arrested us without asking any questions? Who gave you the authority? Does the Grand Princess think human life is worthless? Does the First Princess think she can be unreasonable? If the Grand Princess is so capable, how come she can't control her own son!"

The Grand Princess's eyes turned slightly cold, but the maid beside her had already changed her expression drastically, pointing at Jiang Shan and hurriedly saying, "How dare you disrespect the Grand Princess! Guards, drag her away and beat her to death!"

Jiang Shan's face turned deathly pale, and he gritted his teeth as he cursed, "Rong Yue, you fat bastard! You repay kindness with enmity! You betray your promise! I curse you to get fatter and fatter the more you try to lose weight!"

The Grand Princess's expression changed drastically, and she slammed her hand heavily on the table. "Insolence!"

Two guards rushed over and grabbed Jiang Shan from the left and right.

Just as he grabbed Jiang Shan's arm, two hidden weapons flew over and pierced through the guard's hand.

An Yi and An Er walked in through the door, each step radiating a palpable killing intent.

The Grand Princess raised an eyebrow, looking at An Yi and An Er with great surprise, and waved her hand to signal the injured guards to step back.

"A mere restaurant owner, yet you have such powerful figures by your side? I underestimated you! Where is the Crown Prince? Tell me, and I might spare your life."

Jiang Shan's heart was pounding in her throat. She was breathing heavily, her clear black and white eyes looking at An Yi and An Er, filled with relief at escaping death, as well as a trace of unspeakable fear and panic.

That's the problem with ancient times; in the face of absolute power, human life is as insignificant as an ant's.

An Yi and An Er helped Jiang Shan up from both sides and cut the ropes binding her.

"Don't worry, Miss, the young master will be here soon!"

Jiang Shan had never wanted to see Fu Qiyuan as much as he did now.

She turned to look outside the door. Her manager and his staff were being held at knifepoint by guards, their faces filled with terror and helplessness. Dozens of armed guards slowly approached the door, and a major battle was about to break out.

The root of all this is because of that fat bastard Rong Yue!

No matter how meticulously she planned, it couldn't overcome the fact that Rong Yue had a noble, unparalleled, domineering, and arrogant princess mother!

Jiang Shan turned his head and glared at the Grand Princess with a mixture of fear and hatred, silently protesting.

"I'll ask you one last time, where is the Crown Prince!"

Who knows where that fatso is!

Jiang Shan thought bitterly to himself.

The Grand Princess's expression grew increasingly grim, a hint of impatience flashing between her brows.

"Someone come here...!"

"Grand Princess, what a temper you have! Why do you want to fight and kill us, your children?"
