Outside the door, Mr. Xunmei was clinging to Fu Li, having nearly lost half his life.
Saburo held tightly to Mr. Xunmei's arm, glaring menacingly at the guards with knives.
The Grand Princess paused for a moment, then suddenly stood up and hurried to the door.
She stared intently at the old man outside the door, her beautiful eyes gradually widening.
"Sir...Sir!" the Grand Princess exclaimed, lifting her exquisite and intricate skirt as she strode to the old man, kneeling and bowing her noble head.
"Li Yang greets you, sir!"
Before Mr. Xunmei could speak, two figures rode their horses one after the other, breaking through the guards' obstruction and galloping towards them.
"Shan'er!" Fu Qiyuan called out anxiously and jumped off his horse.
Jiang Shan staggered forward and was pulled into Fu Qiyuan's arms.
"Shan'er, I'm here, don't be afraid!"
Jiang Huai was led over by Fu Wen, and reluctantly looked back at the big black horse. He hugged his parents' legs and sweetly said, "Daddy, ride a horse!"
Jiang Shan burst into tears of joy, patted his son's head, and hugged Fu Qiyuan tightly.
Jiang Huai saw his mother's injured leg and cried out at the top of his lungs, "Mother, it hurts! Father, it hurts!"
Fu Qiyuan followed Jiang Huai's movements and his expression changed drastically. "You're injured?"
After speaking, he looked intently at the Grand Princess with his dark eyes.
The Grand Princess asked in astonishment, "The top scholar? She is... your wife?"
Sanlang glared at the Grand Princess with an unfriendly expression, then walked up to Jiangshan and asked worriedly, "Sister, what happened to your leg? Brother, please take a look at it first!"
Fu Qiyuan cupped his hands and said to the Grand Princess, "Your Majesty, I have no idea what crime Shan'er has committed that would trouble you to travel all the way from Jiangling to Yuzhou to question him?"
The Grand Princess frowned, vaguely sensing that she had gotten herself into trouble.
She rubbed her temples and gestured to the head of the guards.
"Release them! All irrelevant people, disperse!" At the command of the head guard, the bound shopkeeper and his assistant were freed, and the onlookers were also dispersed by the guards.
The Grand Princess smiled ingratiatingly at Mr. Xunmei, took his arm, and said, "It's been many years since I've seen you, sir. Why don't you come in and sit for a while?"
Mr. Xunmei nodded, stepped aside, and said, "Grand Princess, please! Shan'er, do not be negligent."
Jiang Shan bit his lip in frustration, about to say something, when he spotted a chubby figure sneaking around, hiding his face as he walked this way.
"Fatty Rong!" Jiang Shan roared, making Rong Yue tremble all over, and his fat face could no longer hide.
The Grand Princess paused, turned around, and shouted, "If you dare take another step, I'll break your legs!"
Rong Yue giggled and ran over, saying ingratiatingly, "Mom, don't be angry. I've lost a whole two pounds since yesterday!"
The Grand Princess's expression hardened slightly as she looked her son up and down. He looked energetic and didn't seem to be starving at all!
"Did you really lose two pounds?"
Rong Yue patted her chest proudly, "I really lost two pounds! Boss Jiang said that as long as I follow her diet, losing thirty to fifty pounds won't be a problem!"
The Grand Princess's eyes lit up, and she turned to look at the land.
When he met the fiery gaze of the young and beautiful woman, his heart skipped a beat.
Jiang Shan gritted her teeth and continued Rong Yue's words: "I'm sorry, Prince Rong, this humble woman is incompetent. You should let a capable nobleman lose this extra weight that belongs to you!"
The Grand Princess's lips twitched; she knew this girl had a rebellious streak!
Rong Yue panicked, stamping her foot and saying, "What's wrong? Are you going to go back on your word? We signed an agreement!"
Jiang Shan was furious and wanted to say something more, but was stopped by Mr. Xunmei.
A group of people entered the largest luxury private room on the third floor and sat down in order of their official rank.
The poor Jiangshan doesn't even have a seat. If the Grand Princess doesn't speak up, she doesn't even have the right to sit!
She stood to Fu Qiyuan's side with a tense expression, looking down at her toes, secretly holding back her anger.
The atmosphere was a bit tense. Rong Yue looked at the untreated wound on Jiang Shan's knee and her heart tightened. She hurriedly asked the Grand Princess, "Mother, you didn't do anything to her, did you?"
The Grand Princess paused slightly as she was about to drink her tea, and rolled her eyes at her son out of the corner of her eye.
"We're all family here, please sit down!" The Grand Princess stopped drinking her tea and looked towards Jiangshan.
Jiang Shan pursed his lips and stood motionless.
Fu Qiyuan tugged at her hand and said softly, "Shan'er, sit down first. The doctor will be here soon."
Jiang Shan then reluctantly sat down.
The doctor arrived quickly, and Fu Qiyuan took the opportunity to dismiss Jiang Shan.
With Jiang Shan gone, the oppressive atmosphere in the room eased considerably, and even the Grand Princess's expression relaxed a lot.
Rong Yue was overjoyed and told the Grand Princess all the happy things that had happened from yesterday to today. The Grand Princess wanted to knock her son unconscious and take him away!
"Shut up! Why aren't you coming over to pay your respects to the master?" The Grand Princess couldn't hold back and shouted.
Rong Yue paused, then pointed at Mr. Xunmei, "Mr.? You mean this old man...?"
"Foolish thing! This is His Majesty's teacher, the Imperial Tutor!"
Rong Yue exclaimed "Whoa!" and stood up, bowing deeply to Mr. Xunmei. "I was blind to your greatness, please forgive my rudeness!"
Mr. Xunmei returned the greeting with a half bow and said with a smile, "I dare not accept such a formality. I have long since resigned from my position as Grand Tutor to the Crown Prince and am not worthy of such a grand gesture from the Crown Prince."
The Grand Princess said solemnly, "Sir, you may not know this, but Father did not grant your request to resign back then. After my elder brother ascended the throne, he appointed you as Imperial Tutor, which is known throughout the court. I, Li Yang, have also received your teachings and am deeply grateful to you. However, your departure was too sudden, and my elder brother forbade me to inquire about your whereabouts. You have been wandering alone all these years, and you have suffered greatly!"
Mr. Xunmei waved his hand, “I am ashamed of the trust Your Majesty has placed in me! Now I am just a lonely and helpless old man, but in my seventies I have gained a clever and quick-witted apprentice. With him to take care of me in my old age and see me off in my final days, this life is enough!”
Li Yang (from this point onward, the Grand Princess is addressed by her title) asked in astonishment, "Sir, you have taken on another disciple? Where is she? May I see her?"
Mr. Xunmei pondered for a moment, then gave Fu Qiyuan a look.
Fu Qiyuan instructed Fu Shu to bring Sanlang over.
Sanlang entered the room, looked around, and went straight to Mr. Xunmei. He frowned and asked, "Teacher, did you forget to eat your hawthorn pills again? I brought some. I've told you so many times to eat less meat, it's hard to digest. You ate two extra pieces last night! Next time, tell my sister I won't make you Dongpo pork!"
Mr. Xunmei took the hawthorn pills that Sanlang handed him and ate them. After listening to his rambling, he laughed and said, "I just had a little extra food because I was greedy. You've been nagging me all night. Aren't you tired?"
After saying this, he straightened Sanlang's collar and said, "Come and pay your respects to Grand Princess Liyang."
