Chapter 60 The Poor Little One in the Horrible Doomsday 1

Twelve o'clock late at night.

The sound of a girl running hurriedly could be heard in the deserted corridor. She looked back from time to time as if some terrifying monster was chasing her.

“Huff…”

The girl was almost exhausted from running, and a layer of fine beads of sweat appeared on her fair forehead.

Her long hair, soaked with sweat, hung down on the side of her pale face. Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes were filled with tears, and her thin lower lip was bitten until it was bloodless.

So tired!

Ruan Mian's legs felt like they were filled with lead and she couldn't lift them, but the roaring sound behind her was getting closer and closer.

It came and followed me upstairs!

Maybe it was too late and everyone in the building had closed their doors and gone to bed. She had no chance to ask for help and might even be ignored as a lunatic.

You must survive!

The sudden strong desire to survive made the girl grit her teeth and hold on, grabbing the cold stair handrail and climbing up.

Her home is on the eighth floor.

Originally, this building was equipped with an elevator, but just as she was about to go in, she realized that the elevator would open when it automatically sensed something and it was not safe for her to stay inside.

“Huh…”

A terrifying scream came from the zombie's empty throat and echoed throughout the corridor.

It was like a thorn tickling the girl's eardrum, and her heart was pounding wildly.

Help, someone save me...

The voice-controlled light came on, and Ruan Mian hurriedly looked at the sign on the wall. It was on the 7th floor, just one floor away and he could run home.

I ran too fast and my untied shoelaces came undone and I almost tripped and fell to the ground.

She kicked off her shoes without hesitation and stepped onto the dusty steps wearing only thin white cotton socks.

At the corner of the corridor less than ten meters away from the girl.

A zombie with protruding whites of its eyes exuded a fishy odor all over its body. It seemed as if it had smelled the fragrance of fresh food, and its ten dry fingers, like firewood, scratched forward excitedly.

As her strength gradually depleted, the girl's head slowly became dizzy and the scene before her eyes became blurred.

The pale pink lips were stung by the teeth, and the color turned into a rotten red.

Due to the pain, her mind was briefly cleared. Continuing was not an option because the opponent was a monster and would not get tired at all.

Ruan Mian opened the fire door and smashed his backpack hard at the zombie that was left with only a skeleton.

It stumbled a few times before it stood firm, and then let out an ear-piercing angry howl.

"Ouch."

The girl took advantage of this time to rush to the door of her house and took the key with trembling fingers. She was so scared that she didn't align the key with the hole the first time.

The zombies' sharp nails scratched the wall, leaving deep marks like cutting tofu.

The foul-smelling saliva flowed from the corners of his mouth and meandered onto the marble floor.

Getting closer step by step.

The girl's pupils widened, her clear eyes filled with fear and despair. No, she couldn't die here...

The girl subconsciously held her breath, with nowhere to escape.

The zombie stretched out its bluish-white, fleshless, bony hand and grabbed her.

At that moment, the movement suddenly stopped, its attention was attracted, and it turned its head.

The person coming out of the elevator was the neighbor next door, a man who had just broken up with his lover. He was so drunk that he could hardly stand, and he was holding a bottle of wine in his hand.

He squinted his eyes and looked here, muttering to himself.

"Burp, what the hell? You're such a weirdo, cosplaying as a zombie."

He was not in a clear mind and was also severely nearsighted, so he didn't notice that Ruan Mian was desperately winking at him, telling him to run!

The girl urged him silently with her lips, but the man didn't take it seriously at all.

He even turned his body and started to pee against the wall as if no one was there.

The movements were skillful, and it was obvious that this was not the first time he had done that.

She was still crying, "Xiaomei, why did you leave me?"

The pale yellow liquid flowed along the cracks in the wall to the zombie's feet.

The girl wanted to cover her nose, but she didn't dare to move. Who knew if it would tear her into pieces in the next second?

The heartbroken man slid down to the ground in despair, his back against the wall, and the wine bottle rolled away.

"You just complain about my poor hygiene, don't you? Just change it. I don't agree to break up, I don't agree!"

The man shouted louder and louder, crying and making so much noise that the zombie staggered towards him.

He was completely unaware of the impending danger.

Ruan Mian slowly reached out and turned the doorknob of his house, stepping back step by step, without a trace of relaxation on his pale face.

"Can I take a bath once a week from now on? That's clean enough, right? Ah! Are you sick?"

Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by the pain in his arm. This madman actually dared to bite him.

The man picked up the beer bottle and smashed it on the zombie's head, shattering glass all over the ground.

But the other party didn't hesitate at all. He lowered his head and used his sharp teeth to tear off a large piece of flesh.

The pain nearly made him pass out, and all his drunkenness suddenly vanished.

His body was stained with blood, and he began to struggle and howl frantically, but it was no use.

The aorta in the man's neck was ruthlessly torn and broken, sticky blood kept flowing out, and his legs stopped moving.

The girl locked the door and pushed the sofa and desk in to block it. Through the peephole, she saw that the man's stomach had been ripped open by the zombies, and his body was covered in blood.

She was so scared that she squatted down and dared not look anymore. She walked into the bedroom quietly and called the police.

"Yes, it's in our neighborhood. It's still outside."

The girl couldn't stop telling the whole situation in a trembling voice, but the other party suppressed his smile and comforted her professionally.

"Okay, we basically understand the situation. Please pay attention to your sleep and don't stay up late often..."

His words and actions treated her as a mentally disturbed psychopath.

Communication is useless.

After Ruan Mian hung up the phone, he leaned over the peephole and looked out.

The empty corridor was very quiet and silent, except for the glaring pool of blood next to the elevator. It seemed that the zombies had eaten their fill and left.

Although it's just a guess, what if he's just hiding and waiting for me to get out?

The girl would rather believe that it had gone away than stick her head out to take a look.

I shook the table a little, but it still felt unstable, so I struggled to move the refrigerator behind the door to block it.

"Should this be enough?"

After this big move, the girl's wet hair stuck to her white and almost transparent skin, and the hot and humid air came out from between her lips and teeth.

She didn't dare sleep in the bedroom, worried that she was too far away and couldn't hear anything at the door, which was too dangerous.

The little body curled up on the sofa by the door, tightly grasping a rolling pin as thick as her wrist as a weapon. The girl's eyelashes trembled and she fell asleep exhausted.

The next morning she was woken up by the alarm clock. It was exactly eight o'clock, time for her to go to work.

The system told her.

"Due to the high difficulty of this world and the threat of a doomsday crisis, no missions will be issued for the time being. Please prioritize your survival."

After hearing this, Ruan Mian’s slender fingertips clenched until they turned white. Could he survive?

"Momo, can you help me?"
