Chapter 140 Leave Behind

Xiao Xin understood his intention and said okay.

He locked the door in a daze before heading downstairs.

He didn't know how he got out of the building; his heart was heavy.

The thought of Fu Yan brought tears to my eyes.

Why does Fu Yan always end up taking the fall for him? What should he do if something happens to Fu Yan again this time?

Xiao Xin now deeply regrets agreeing to Fu Yan's demands.

He shouldn't have let Fu Yan live with him, shouldn't have had those ambiguous relationships with Fu Yan, and shouldn't have fallen in love with him.

Xiao Xin stood by the roadside waiting for a car, the cold wind making his head ache and numb.

Every time Fu Yan gets into trouble, it's related to him; it seems He Yunzhou's death was also...

If I hadn't confessed to He Yunzhou back then, and if Jiang Yuqing hadn't received my call, would He Yunzhou still be alive?

Then he wouldn't have met Fu Yan, and Fu Yan might not have been injured for him one after another.

Looking at the bustling street, Xiao Xin whispered, "I'm sorry..."

He muttered "I'm sorry" to himself, staring blankly at the traffic lights, but his mind wasn't on them at all.

He didn't notice the car speeding towards him. Just as his left foot stepped onto the sidewalk, his arm was pulled back with great force, and then his back slammed into a solid chest.

"Xiao Xin, are you out of your mind?!" Mo Xuan yelled, grabbing him.

Xiao Xin stared blankly at him, tears streaming down her face: "I'm sorry..."

Mo Xuan got angry at his dazed look and pulled him toward his car.

He opened the car door, pushed Xiao Xin into the back seat, and then sat down himself.

After closing the car door, Mo Xuan said to his assistant in the front seat, "Xiao Chen, you can drive now."

Xiao Xin didn't want to cry anymore, nor did she want to talk, so she just sat there quietly.

Mo Xuan glanced at him, sat closer to him, and rubbed Xiao Xin's head: "Fu Yan is fine, he's already out of the operating room."

Xiao Xin's eyes flickered slightly, and her lips moved: "I want to..."

Before she could finish the second half of her sentence, tears started falling again.

He sniffed, looked out the window, stubbornly wiped away a tear, and swallowed the rest of his sentence.

He is no longer worthy to see Fu Yan; it's better to cut ties.

Mo Xuan understood what he wanted to say and directly told his assistant, "Xiao Chen, go to L Hospital."

"Yes, Mr. Mo," the assistant replied.

Xiao Xin turned to look at him: "I'm not going."

He was too ashamed to face Fu Yan.

Mo Xuan produced a square cake box from somewhere, wrapped with aurora-colored white ribbons, like an exquisite gift.

He placed the box in Xiao Xin's hands and said, "This is the mango cake you made last night. Giving it to him personally will show more sincerity, won't it?"

Xiao Xin suddenly looked up at him: "What happened to you...?"

He couldn't sleep last night, so he went to the kitchen to experiment with making small cakes. He thought Mo Xuan didn't know, but he was wrong...

Mo Xuan smiled understandingly: "When you were making the cake, you were thinking about Fu Yan the whole time, weren't you?"

He patted Xiao Xin's head again as he spoke: "Take it to him yourself and tell him you miss him."

Xiao Xin looked at the box in her hand, her mind filled with mixed emotions, but she still held the cake close to her chest.

He looked out the window and said softly, "Okay, just one last time."

That was the last time he saw Fu Yan.

...

L Hospital.

Mo Xuan had just brought Xiao Xin to the door of the ward when they ran into Jiang Yuqing, who was coming out of it.

Xiao Xin tightened her grip on the cake box in her arms and gave him a wary look.

Just as Mo Xuan and his men were about to walk through the door, Jiang Yuqing stretched out a hand to block their way.

Mo Xuan glanced at him sideways: "What do you mean?"

Jiang Yuqing glanced at them indifferently: "Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter."

Mo Xuan chuckled: "If animals can go in, why can't humans?"

As he spoke, he slapped Jiang Yuqing's hand away and pulled Xiao Xin toward the door.

Jiang Yuqing sneered: "Mo Xuan, don't get too caught up in the act."

Mo Xuan paused, and Xiao Xin, who was holding a cake in her arms, almost bumped into him.

Xiao Xin frowned at him: "What's wrong?"

Mo Xuan shook his head at him, then glared fiercely at Jiang Yuqing.

Jiang Yuqing gave him a cold glare, then turned and left.

Mo Xuan stopped hesitating and pulled Xiao Xin along as they continued walking through the door.

Fu Yan, with bandages wrapped around his head, was leaning against the headboard, looking out the window.

His face was expressionless, but when he looked up and saw Xiao Xin behind Mo Xuan, his eyes flickered slightly.

Xiao Xin met his gaze, then lowered her eyes somewhat guiltily, her eyes fixed on the cake in her hand.

Fu Yan's gaze slowly moved downwards, and he saw Mo Xuan's hand tightly gripping Xiao Xin's wrist.

His eyes suddenly turned cold. He looked away, frowned, and said, "Get out."

Xiao Xin froze, suddenly feeling a numbness in his legs.

Mo Xuan sensed his tension, so he squeezed his wrist reassuringly, then released Xiao Xin, walked to the bedside, crossed his arms, and glanced at the bandage on Fu Yan's head.

"Why are you telling us to leave as soon as we arrive?"

Mo Xuan clenched his fist, pretending to punch him: "If it weren't for your injured head, I really would have liked to give you a couple of blows..."

Fu Yan didn't even glance at him, and said indifferently, "I don't want to say it a second time."

Qiao Chen finished his phone call by the window and turned around, somewhat surprised to see Xiao Xin and Mo Xuan.

He hung up the phone, looked at Mo Xuan, and said, "Can't you understand human language?"

Mo Xuan was five years older than Qiao Chen, but he seemed to still be a child at heart. He stood with his hands on his hips and glared at Qiao Chen: "How dare you talk like that, you little brat?"

Fu Yan ignored him completely, while Qiao Chen stared at him unabashedly, quietly watching his performance.

Mo Xuan got angry and pointed at the two of them, cursing, "Who spoiled you two so much that you're acting like this? Today I'm going to teach you a lesson on behalf of Heaven!"

As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeves, adopting a fighting stance.

Xiao Xin felt a little embarrassed and grabbed Mo Xuan's arm, trying to walk out.

Mo Xuan broke free from him, looking at Xiao Xin with incomprehension: "Xiao Xin, I finally came all this way with you, how could you..."

Xiao Xin never dared to look at Fu Yan, glaring at Mo Xuan and saying, "You should leave when I tell you to, instead of staying here and making a fool of yourself?"

Fu Yan noticed that he was deliberately ignoring her gaze, and her brows furrowed even more.

He interrupted the two people who were locked in a stalemate in front of his bed, pointed at Mo Xuan and suddenly said, "I'm talking about you, get out."

Qiao Chen stood to the side with his arms crossed, looking at Mo Xuan with a smug smile: "Now you understand human speech, right?"

Fu Yan glanced at him and said, "You go out too."

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Qiao Chen's face, and he cleared his throat awkwardly.

The chaotic scene immediately quieted down, and now the only one who hadn't been called out by Fu Yan was Xiao Xin.

A hint of unease flashed in Xiao Xin's eyes. Just as he was about to pull Mo Xuan out, Fu Yan suddenly pointed at him and said, "You, stay."
