Chapter 89 This thing can't be eaten

Fu Yan entered the kitchen and suddenly found the countertop in a mess. Flour was scattered on the counter, bowls and chopsticks were lying crookedly in the sink, and flour was everywhere on the floor. It looked very dirty and messy.

He frowned slightly and noticed the pile of food on the floor that hadn't been put into the refrigerator yet.

He rolled up his sleeves to his elbows, tied on an apron, and put on a mask before taking a rag and mop to clean the kitchen.

After doing all this, he had a little sweat on his forehead. He wiped the sweat away with a tissue before picking up the ingredients on the ground to put them in the refrigerator.

Looking at the two large bags of groceries, Fu Yan couldn't help but wonder, didn't his brother usually order takeout?

Why did you suddenly buy so many groceries?

He shook his head, opened the refrigerator to put the vegetables in, and suddenly saw a strangely shaped plate...

"dessert"?

Fu Yan took out the plate of "snacks" and looked at them. The golden color was quite nice, but the shape was a bit hard to describe.

He held the plate close to his nose and smelled it; it still smelled like the mango he liked.

Fu Yan's eyes flashed. Could this have been done by his brother?

Xiao Xin made him some desserts?!

This person, who never even goes into the kitchen, actually...

A sweet feeling welled up in Fu Yan's heart, and her eyes curved into a smile.

Could it be that his brother also likes him, but is just too shy to confess?

But... does Xiao Xin like him, or just his face?

Xiao Xin's confession to He Yunzhou in his dream still echoed clearly in Fu Yan's ears.

Moreover, He Yunzhou was his own brother, and he had actually become his brother's stand-in.

Fu Yan felt a pang of sadness upon thinking about this.

If only he had met Xiao Xin before He Yunzhou...

He promised not to let Shawn suffer so much in love.

Fu Yan shook his head helplessly, took out the pastries and put them aside, then quickened his pace of putting vegetables into the refrigerator.

Xiao Xin waited in the bedroom for almost an hour before Fu Yan finally showed up.

The room was a bit stuffy because of the air conditioning. Xiao Xin was worried about the smell at night, so she pushed Fu Yan towards the kitchen.

Xiao Xin sat down at the table, looking at the steaming noodles in the bowl, her stomach growling loudly.

Fu Yan smiled and said to Xiao Xin, "Brother, eat quickly."

He put down his chopsticks, got up, and left the kitchen.

The aroma of noodles filled the air. Xiao Xin picked up her chopsticks and glanced at Fu Yan's bowl of noodles, only to find that her bowl contained two poached eggs, a generous amount of noodles underneath, two slices of luncheon meat, and a generous sprig of cilantro.

Fu Yan's bowl was simpler, with only a poached egg and a few scallions floating on the surface of the soup.

Upon comparison, Xiao Xin discovered that the amount of noodles in her bowl was twice that of Fu Yan's bowl.

Xiao Xin: Does he have some misunderstanding about my appetite...?

As he was lost in thought, Fu Yan came over with a thick nightgown and draped it over Xiao Xin's shoulders: "Brother, it's cold at night, wear more."

After saying that, he walked to the kitchen counter next to him and brought over the stack of mango-filled mochi.

Xiao Xin had just taken a sip of noodles when his eyes fell on the stack of "oddly shaped" noodles, and he felt a strange sense of tension.

He was in such a hurry that he forgot to throw the failed product in the trash can.

Seeing him staring at the "snack" in his hand, Fu Yan asked with a smile, "Did you make this for me, brother?"

Xiao Xin slurped a big mouthful of noodles, hurriedly looked away, neither saying yes nor no.

Seeing that he was eating so much, Fu Yan was worried that he would overeat, so she poured him a cup of hot water.

The noodles tasted great. I never expected that Fu Yan, this young master, would be able to cook.

Xiao Xin's impression of Fu Yan suddenly changed slightly.

As Xiao Xin was thinking this, she suddenly saw Fu Yan holding chopsticks, preparing to pick up the plate of "strange-shaped" snacks. Xiao Xin reacted quickly and picked up the plate of snacks from the table.

Fu Yan's hand, holding the chopsticks, paused in mid-air. "What's wrong, brother?"

"You can't eat this."

Fu Yan ignored him, stood up, and with a slight bend, snatched the plate back from Xiao Xin's hand.

Then, he picked up a piece with his chopsticks, quickly put it in his mouth, chewed, and swallowed it all in one go.

Xiao Xin swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing in unison with Fu Yan's. Seeing that Fu Yan's expression was normal, he asked weakly, "Is it good?"

Fu Yan nodded and sat back in his chair. "Mmm, delicious."

As he spoke, he put another mochi ball into his mouth.

Xiao Xin frowned, looking doubtful: "What's that smell?"

Fu Yan put the plate back on the table and gave Xiao Xin an encouraging look: "Brother, why don't you try it yourself?"

Xiao Xin frowned, shook her head in disgust, then took a sip of her noodles and changed the subject: "Have you ever cooked before?"

"without."

Fu Yan ate his noodles: "It's my first time."

"How can you do this on your first try? And those cookies too..." Xiao Xin was a little skeptical.

Fu Yan took another bite of mango mochi: "This is really the first time. I've said before that I learn things very quickly, and I can easily master anything that isn't difficult."

He added, looking at Xiao Xin earnestly, "And what my brother made was also very good, very delicious."

Seeing how seriously he was talking, Xiao Xin suddenly began to doubt the dessert she had made. Was it really that delicious?

He picked up a piece with his chopsticks with some skepticism and took a small bite.

"Is it delicious...?" As soon as Fu Yan finished speaking, Xiao Xin spat out what was in her mouth.

After vomiting, Xiao Xin took a couple of sips of water from her glass and looked at Fu Yan with a puzzled expression: "That stuff was so salty, how could you say it was delicious?"

Under Xiao Xin's shocked gaze, Fu Yan nonchalantly tossed the last piece of mochi into his mouth: "Isn't this the taste? I think it's pretty good."

Xiao Xin covered his forehead, speechless.
