Chapter 194 Unexpected

There are repetitive scenes; give me half an hour!!!

Last night's dinner wasn't as boring as the maintainers had imagined.

After the opera performance began, each maintainer received a program selection form from which they could choose one.

Twenty-five maintainers, twenty-five programs, plus the five selected by the city lord's mansion, kept us up until the middle of the night.

This left the maintenance workers, who were used to encountering danger at banquets, looking nervous as they were carried in and bewildered as they were carried away, feeling as if they were in a dream.

Cheng Shuang didn't believe that nothing had happened at the dinner.

Throughout the day, Fang Niang ate a few bites of fruit with Feng Jiakang, but Tian Sanlang barely touched his chopsticks at dinner, except for a few pieces of candy.

As the guide cleaned up the mess, she noticed that there was very little oil on the plate in front of Tian Saburo, and there were not many traces of chopsticks used on the side of the food facing him.

It's possible that he only took a couple of bites as a show of superficial respect for Feng Jiakang, but after returning to that small 'dormitory' late at night, he didn't feel any hunger pangs or urge to eat.

At Wanxiang Restaurant, Li Shuang discovered that the so-called natives who ate there only ate a little bit. At first, she thought it was because the restaurant's prices were too high, but now she had reason to suspect that these unknown natives had basically abandoned all human physiological characteristics.

The little girl touched her flattened belly, looked at the two people who were staring blankly through the window at the sleeping beauty surnamed Feng snoring, and rubbed her belly helplessly. She felt that she was suffering pain that a child her age should not have to bear... the pain of hunger!

To avoid giving herself away with her rumbling stomach, Cheng Shuang patted the Luo An No. 2 standing by the bedside and quietly left the room.

Anyway, Feng Jiakang is in the bedroom, so these two shouldn't be interested in her whereabouts.

The little girl tiptoed to the door of the manor's storage room. Fortunately, all the houses were suspended in mid-air, with no basements or second-floor buildings, so the storage room was just around the corner. In the shadows, she released Luo An No. 3, letting the small figure step inside and search the entire storage room at a leisurely pace.

When Luo An No. 3's little head peeked out from the crack in the door and waved to her, Cheng Shuang quickly opened the door and went in.

She had found it strange before; Fang Niang had mentioned to Feng Jiakang that the food rations here would be replenished by the guides every morning and evening, and if VIPs had any additional requests, they could inform the tour leader. She hadn't arrived yet in the morning, so she wouldn't say anything, but the guides hadn't appeared in the evening either.

Moreover, all sixteen guides who were watching over Feng Jiakang were present at the banquet, so they shouldn't have had time to return and make up for today's deficit.

Although Luo An No. 3 was a little slower because it had split into two, it was still very agile. Its small figure jumped up and down in the somewhat messy storage room.

Cheng Shuang, with a more purposeful mindset, went straight to the fruit basket where the cherries that Feng Jiakang had eaten during the day had been replenished.

Aside from attending a dinner party, Feng Jiakang didn't go out. The terrace, which served as a substitute for the courtyard, still faced the main gate, meaning she would inevitably notice any guides entering the house. Moreover, while Fang Niang and Tian Sanlang were extremely wary of guides, they weren't afraid they would trespass into Feng Jiakang's room, indicating that the house was off-limits to unauthorized entrants, at least for guides.

What she's looking for now is whether this storage room has a hidden door.
