The car reached the top of the mountain and stopped immediately, with only the engine humming.
This is a huge flat roof with cliffs on three sides, and the sky is so blue that you can't see any clouds or sun.
There was a man in a black robe standing twenty meters away from her, his back turned, facing a vast ocean. He faced the blue waves, and the white spray of the waves dampened the hem of his robe.
The little girl felt that the man in the black robe exuded a dark aura and looked strangely gloomy, so she instinctively didn't want to get close to him.
"This is not scientific!" someone suddenly exclaimed.
Cheng Shuang turned around and saw Du Jun and a man's car stopping one after the other behind her.
"He's been standing the whole time?" Du Jun asked.
"Hmm!" She frowned in thought, "It should have been about five minutes."
"Why didn't you get out of the car to check?" the stranger pressed.
Cheng Shuang glanced at him but didn't say anything.
Perhaps feeling that the other person was a child, and that he, as an adult, was in a position of absolute dominance, he immediately scolded sternly and unhappily, "Kid, I'm talking to you! How rude of you!"
The little girl patiently explained to Du Jun, "My teacher taught me not to talk to strangers, big brother, I don't know him and I don't want to talk to him!"
"Yes!" Du Jun nodded affirmatively, paused, and added, "Shuangshuang did the right thing!"
"You...!" The man's face flushed with anger. He pointed at the two of them and almost stood up, but after hesitating for a moment, he sat down again and turned his head to scoff.
Not many fools can get this far!
Cheng Shuang shrugged, spread her hands, and blinked innocently at Du Jun, her eyes conveying only one meaning: See? He himself doesn't dare to risk getting out of bed, yet he comes to ask me. How annoying!
Du Jun pursed his lips, a hint of a smile in his eyes.
Previously, in the bumper car area in the rain, this man had seen how the little girl pinched the monster's eyeballs, and he copied her to find a way out. Now, he's acting arrogantly like an elder, which is rather ridiculous.
Soon, Liu Juan, Ma Guoxu, and car number 3 climbed up the hillside, followed by four more cars, five more cars, and so on, forming a formation of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, with each row at least five meters apart.
After the sixth row of six cars, no one else successfully reached the top.
Cheng Shuang looked over and saw Wu Qian and her boyfriend at the very back. All six of them had pale faces and were trembling.
She noticed that the people further back in the group were more soaked with sweat. Wu Qian's hair was wet and matted, and her face was etched with exhaustion. Despite the bright sunshine, she was shivering from the cold and hugging herself tightly.
Now, only twenty-one vehicles remain.
It's obvious that the remaining people are stuck on the previous track forever.
'Ding! The underwater target activity is about to begin. Please prepare. The target will appear in ten seconds! Countdown, ten…'
"Target practice? What are we going to use to practice?" Liu Juan asked frantically, her hands moving non-stop as she searched through the empty car.
Cheng Shuang leaned forward, resting his chin on the steering wheel, carefully observing his little bear cub. He noticed that the cub's posture had changed from hands on hips to one foot forward and one foot back, with its short, thick arms raised as if in a shooting position.
"Is it...?" the little girl asked hesitantly, and everyone stopped what they were doing.
Noticing the direction of her gaze, Du Jun immediately replied, "Yes, a gift!" His gaze slowly shifted to the ball of yarn in front of his car, where the pink yarn strands were reassembled in the air, forming the shape of a pink knitted firearm.
Liu Juan opened the lid of her thermos, and steaming white smoke drifted out, while scalding water droplets, like arrows poised to be released, were ready to be launched.
Ma Guoxu's explanation was easier to understand; a war movie was already playing on the monitor, with the sounds of bugles and clattering particularly loud and clear.
"How do I do this?" Liu Juan asked with a pained expression. Was she supposed to pour them out one by one? They were so hot. She couldn't possibly hold them in her hand and risk killing a thousand enemies while losing eight hundred of her own, could she?
Ma Guoxu scratched his bald head and sighed, "I'm not Sadako, I can't take out these weapons either!"
However, while they were considering how to activate these gifts, some people missed the opportunity to do so.
"Why hasn't mine changed?" the man in car number 3 cried out in despair. His palm-leaf fan remained unchanged, completely still.
"Mine too!" two more people shouted in succession, their faces pale and flustered.
Du Jun's eyes flickered, and he exchanged a glance with Cheng Shuang, who was looking back. At the same time, he remembered how car number 3 had brazenly followed him through the tree-shadow track.
The gift in car number 3 was always shining brightly at that time.
In other words, this benefit also has a limited number of uses.
The little girl patted her chest. She had noticed the 'abnormality' of gift number 3, which was why she had tried her best to get through the challenge on her own and dared not use the bear cub's power casually. Sure enough, a trap was waiting for them here!
As the countdown reached one, the black-robed figure in front seemed to come alive instantly. He soared into the air, splitting into several identical figures in mid-air.
The hoods obscured their faces, making their features impossible to see, and the air suddenly grew cold. The black robes billowed in the wind, resembling large bats swooping down on the ranks below.
“How come it looks so much like…the Demon God?” Ma Guoxu asked in a strange tone.
"I don't know the Guardian Angel Spell!" Liu Juan screamed. The hem of the black robe brushed against her skin, and she immediately got goosebumps all over. She felt exhausted, as if she were stuck in a quagmire.
Not just her, everyone had similar feelings.
Cheng Shuang was confused. She rubbed her arms, which were covered in goosebumps, and asked in bewilderment, "What is a monster that can slay gods?"
When the Harry Potter movies were all the rage, this child should have just been born, so it's not surprising that no one knew. But now, the situation is urgent, and no one has time to explain. The only consolation for the first few rows of viewers was that these 'god-hunting monsters' rushed straight to the last row.
"Fire at the target! Fire at the target now!" someone in the row shouted in a panic.
Because she didn't understand the power of the 'Demon-Slaying Monster', Cheng Shuang was the first to act. As soon as she had the idea, the front of the car suddenly turned around and slowly rose.
The roar of a wild beast echoed through the sky. The little girl opened her eyes wide and saw the teddy bear grow up in an instant, roaring repeatedly at the black-robed figures floating in the air, looking majestic and awe-inspiring.
However... when Cheng Shuang, who was waiting for the bear cub to unleash its power, discovered that nothing had happened!
The little girl's lips twitched, but amidst the astonished and disappointed looks of the others, she straightened her chest, clapped her hands, and praised, "Little Bear is so amazing, awesome!"
The giant brown bear paused almost imperceptibly, and just as a ball of powder struck a monster, everyone snapped back to reality and frantically launched their attack.
"Rely on your awareness!" Du Jun coldly reminded him.
Perhaps it was the tacit understanding among the group that made Liu Juan and Ma Guoxu the first to grasp it.
The scalding water droplets and the fireballs on the screen rushed towards the black-robed creature that had already been hit. Under the concentrated attack, the black-robed creature's figure gradually dimmed. It seemed unaware of this, gathering around the last row until it completely disappeared.
"It really works!" Ma Guoxu exclaimed in delight.
"Thank goodness it wasn't a real monster!" Liu Juan breathed a sigh of relief and consciously drove the car next to Cheng Shuang, afraid that the little girl's teddy bear would become ineffective and leave her powerless to fight back.
"Hurry up!" the little girl's weak voice was urgent.
Du Jun was the first to react, his face tense.
