Chapter 43, Second Wave



When the host called out A6058 with a smile, Du Jun squeezed the girl's hand tighter and whispered, "Calm down and believe in yourself."

Cheng Shuang wasn't surprised to be chosen. She'd always won something from playing lottery games since she was little, and later, when blind boxes came out, she could quickly collect complete sets. Back then, her father said it was God's compensation to his little daughter, while her older sister jokingly said she was the lucky one in the game.

Although Cheng Shuang didn't understand the meaning of "European," she was definitely praising her for having good luck.

But this time... the little girl pouted angrily, and without waiting for the etiquette lady to urge her, she ran towards the host under everyone's pitying gaze.

She was the third. The first was a middle-aged man with a dull gaze and a peculiar appearance. He had an ordinary appearance, a sallow complexion, slender limbs, and a particularly large belly. It wasn't the typical beer belly of a man; the bulge was so large that it looked like he had some kind of disease.

The second was a young man with white hair. As soon as Cheng Shuang stood beside him, she heard a gloating sneer, "Ah? You're really lucky!"

"Thank you, Uncle too!"

Seeing the little girl's innocent smile, the young man's lips twitched, and he turned his head away, ignoring her.

Being on stage wasn't a pleasant experience. The bright lights shone on me, and soon my back was covered in a fine layer of sweat, which only added to the heat.

The area below the stage was pitch black, with only faintly visible figures moving about. Most terrifyingly, pairs of round, luminous green eyes seemed like monsters lurking in the shadows, hovering around and radiating a malevolent light.

The reason why people on stage could still see figures in the dark was because of these densely packed eyes... Even though she knew it was the work of the line figures, the little girl was still a little scared, but she stubbornly straightened her little chest, at least on the surface she was calm.
