All four of them watched the roof and sides of the vehicle warily, listening to the monster's heavy footsteps and the green-skinned child's exaggerated boasting, such as how it kicked the monster and how it rode on the monster's neck.
It's as if they and the two children live in different spaces.
If the timing weren't so bad, they really would have liked to shut up this rambling, strange child!
