In a short time, the once magnificent banquet hall was transformed from ruins into a magnificent sight, and one could now see the starry night outside through the broken opening in the upper corner.
The fishy smell wafted into the hall with the strong sea breeze. Before long, the floor was soaked, the seawater wetted the trouser legs, and extinguished some of the flames caused by the impact of the cannon fire.
The lined guests screamed and shouted, as if real humans were experiencing the panic and despair of impending death.
Unfortunately, the doors to the banquet hall remained tightly shut, and the birds scurried about like headless flies, adding to the tense atmosphere.
With the tide turning against them, many defenders chose to preserve their strength, while Qingnai was surrounded by the Line Attendants, yet her offensive showed no signs of abating.
When people go crazy, their potential is truly limitless.
Although Qingnai wasn't exactly adept at handling things, the dozens of waiters were unable to do anything about him for the time being.
Of course, with fewer waiters, Qingnai also suffered many injuries, making her look even more disheveled.
“This time it’s locked!” Lie Fu shrugged, pulled a round table with flower pots from the knee-deep water, quickly removed its four legs, and handed it to his three friends.
"What's on it?" Kuroko asked, pulling her friend away from the fireball's attack range, completely baffled by his words.
“That's relevant to the theme this time,” Du Jun answered for Lie Fu. The water was already above their knees, a height that was too unfriendly for the little girl. He simply picked Cheng Shuang up with one arm and asked, “Can you swim?”
Cheng Shuang: "No!"
"study!"
The little girl wrinkled her nose, looking at the older boy with a mixture of helplessness and tolerance.
Fine, you're handsome, so you're right!
“Swimming isn’t the main problem.” Lie Fu tested the thickness of the table. “Temperature, weather, and hunger are enough to make people suffer.”
"And there's the whirlpool from when the cruise ship sank." Du Jun looked into the distance. "We need to abandon ship as soon as possible and find the lifeboats."
The roar continued, from Qingnai's artillery fire to the explosions of the cruise ship itself. The four of them walked hand in hand, with Lie Fu and Hei Zi Shan leading the way, and Du Jun carrying Cheng Shuang closely behind. He stopped Cheng Shuang from using the bear cub as a means of transportation. If the bear cub got wet, it would be unable to move, let alone carry Cheng Shuang away.
Lie Fu had found a secluded spot on a broken wall, but as soon as he stepped out, he turned back, his face full of worry. "It's pitch black inside, and it's easy to get lost if you don't know the structure."
They had memorized the main routes of the cruise ship's public areas, but there were still many places that tourists were prohibited from entering that they could not access. Blindly wandering around and getting lost was a minor matter; the real danger was that they would perish together with the crew.
Another earth-shaking tremor ensued, and the banquet hall doors were blasted open.
A figure quickly slipped away and left.
"Damn it! It's that grandson of Aona!" Kuroko slammed her fist on the seawater in a fit of rage, before being dragged along by Ryougi.
"Wait." Cheng Shuang stopped Du Jun, bent down and quickly picked up a few colorful foam blocks floating on the water. She took the ropes from her spatial storage and tied two of them to Du Jun's upper arms, then held the rest in her arms.
The cruise ships were destroyed faster than imagined. The Titanic took more than two hours to sink, while the Tissopono sank in just half an hour.
The question of whether something is scientific or not is no longer something that anyone bothers to explore.
There were no lifeboats available, and humans were thrown into a pot like dumplings. As the cruise ship exploded, tilted, and sank, those who could swim used all their strength to try to get out of the whirlpool.
Cheng Shuang and the others were closer to the sea level, so they didn't have to worry about being knocked unconscious by the impact if they lost control and fell into the water. Lie Fu and Hei Zi Shan, who jumped into the sea first, grabbed the table to reduce the waste of their energy.
"Put Shuangshuang up there." Lie Fu wiped the seawater off his face, pointed to the table, and gestured for Du Jun to jump down quickly.
Du Jun had not yet made a statement, but Cheng Shuang looked hesitant.
"What's wrong?" Kuroko was clearly frantic. The huge cruise ship in front of them was tilted to one side, its massive body looking like it could crush them at any moment. The sense of impending doom weighed heavily on his mind, making Kuroko shout impatiently, "Shuangshuang, hurry up, hurry up! Are you going to stay on the ship and wait to die?!"
In this critical moment, time is of the essence. Without further delay, Cheng Shuang jumped into the seawater with a piece of foam in her arms. Du Jun followed behind, and together with the other two boys, they stretched out their arms and pushed the little girl onto the round table.
Perhaps harboring some suspicion, Cheng Shuang didn't suffer much in the sea; she didn't even drink the seawater before being pulled ashore.
She sat cross-legged on the table, wiped the water droplets from her face, and even had the leisure to tie the foam blocks in her arms to Lie Fu and Hei Zi Shan one by one.
"Where did this come from?" Shaking the water droplets off her hair, Kuroko looked curiously at the shapeless foam block on her arm.
"It should be one of those thick foam boxes used for growing flowers, one of the flower beds on either side of the banquet hall?" Lie Fu guessed.
"Shuangshuang, change your wet clothes in a bit," Du Jun instructed.
The little girl nodded absentmindedly.
The three teenagers were just as physically strong as the others, and they pushed the tabletop and swam quickly away from the cruise ship.
To distract herself from the tension, Cheng Shuang took out the malfunctioning card again and examined it carefully. Finally, a thought struck her. She grabbed Du Jun's hand and said urgently and incoherently, "It's not a cruise ship. There's wind in the maze. Something's wrong. We're not..."
Before she could finish speaking, her vision blurred, and she fell to the ground.
Someone nearby helped her up, preventing her from falling headfirst into the damp mud.
The little girl turned her head and, through the starry sky, saw the person clearly.
In the dark forest, the young man's cool and handsome face was clearly visible. His hair was still wet, and he was soaked to the bone, but there was no sign of confusion on his face. It seemed that he had discovered the truth about the cruise ship through Cheng Shuang's few words.
“This is an island.” Du Jun helped her up. Being tall, he could see far, and in a short while, he had a clear view of the surrounding environment. “Our experience is not an illusion.”
Although contradictory, it is not hard to understand, because not far from them were Hei Zishan and Lie Fu, who looked anxious.
The two men were half-buried in the ground, looking around in an awkward and ridiculous manner, searching aimlessly, kicking their legs in a rather comical way, overturning a lot of soil and gravel.
They were really swimming, swimming in the soil.
Cheng Shuang took a whiff; the salty taste of seawater still lingered on the corner of her mouth.
Further away, some people who couldn't swim were already mimicking drowning poses. Before Cheng Shuang could even react, they began to slip into the mud, desperately pounding the ground, gradually being submerged...
“Drowning means real drowning.” Du Jun wrung out his clothes and said in a deep voice, “Don’t disturb Lie Fu and Hei Zi Shan. If they don’t solve the problem themselves, they probably won’t be able to escape smoothly.”
The little girl nodded and curiously walked over to circle around the two boys who seemed to be performing a pantomime.
Unlike her relaxed demeanor, Du Jun suddenly tensed up, "Oh no! Do you remember the location of the banquet hall?"
"I don't remember."
Cheng Shuang shook her head, gazing into the distance. The island wasn't large, and the shimmering water in the distance was clearly visible to the naked eye—the sea. Even so, finding the cruise ship and banquet hall on such an unchanging island was far too abstract.
