Su Jiafeng wanted to find out what was going on, so she made an excuse that she had a stomachache and wanted to go to the outhouse first.
The servant was very polite to him because he was Su Gege's brother. "Alright, please hurry up, Young Master Su. This servant will wait at the door."
After the servant left, Su Jiafeng immediately turned to find He Yuning and questioned her, "You promised me you wouldn't tell anyone, so why did you turn around and go to the Fourth Master's mansion to complain?"
"What are you saying?" He Yuning, who was fiddling with the abacus beads, was confused. She was busy calculating accounts and didn't want to stop, because if she stopped, she would have to start calculating again, which was very troublesome. So she didn't look up when she spoke and continued to work on the abacus.
Displeased, Su Jiafeng immediately snatched the abacus from the table. "I'm asking you a question. Answer seriously, don't pretend to calculate."
He repeated himself, and He Yuning finally understood what he meant. She frowned slightly and said, "You think too highly of me. What is my status, and what is the Fourth Prince's status? Do you think that commoners like us can just walk into the Fourth Prince's residence?"
"The only people who know about this are you and me. Who else could it be but you?" Su Jiafeng naturally suspected He Yuning, who immediately felt a headache coming on.
Didn't you ever think about other people?
"Then there's Xin'er. Could she really turn herself in?" If she were truly willing to turn herself in, she wouldn't have begged him so desperately last night.
There were some things He Yunning didn't want to mention, but given Su Jiafeng's suspicions, she had no choice but to tell the truth to prove her innocence.
"Actually, your older brother came last night. He was waiting for you outside, but when he saw you come out, he didn't go with you. Instead, he followed you. I found it strange, so I followed him."
"Big brother? I had no idea he'd been here." Su Jiafeng was increasingly confused. "So all your talk about feeling unwell was a lie, and you were just fooling me too?"
"It's true that I feel uncomfortable, but I plan to bear it and see if I can get through it. When you asked me why I was there, I didn't want to tell you about your brother following you, so I just made up an excuse." After explaining, He Yun Ning rolled her eyes at him and couldn't be bothered to talk to him anymore.
After carefully considering it for a while, Su Jiafeng understood. "If it wasn't you who said it, then it's very likely that my brother said it."
His older brother is straightforward and intolerant of any wrongdoing. If he knew that Xin'er was the culprit, he would definitely not let it go!
Su Jiafeng sighed inwardly, realizing something was wrong, put down the abacus, and turned to leave.
Judging from his anxious appearance, he's probably worried that something might have happened to Xin'er, right? He Yun Ning became more and more annoyed. She was too lazy to bother with his business anymore, so she picked up the abacus and started doing the accounting again.
Meanwhile, Su Jiafeng followed the servant to the Fourth Master's mansion. In order to save time, the two rode horses and soon arrived at the mansion.
Upon entering, I saw two people sitting inside. The unfamiliar man in the seat of honor was imposing and dignified, presumably the Fourth Prince, Hongli.
Su Jiafeng bowed respectfully, and Hongli responded with a faint murmur.
Seeing her elder brother there, Su Jiafeng understood. It seemed He Yunning was right; it really was her older brother who had come to deliver the message.
"Big brother..."
Glancing at him, Su Mingfeng sneered, "Don't call me big brother. You're siding with outsiders; you don't deserve to be a member of the Su family!"
Hearing the sound, Su Yushan, who was waiting in the inner room, went to the cotton curtain and quietly lifted it to peek. This was the first time she had seen the original owner's younger brother.
The young man before me was tall and handsome, with clear features and a brisk walk. He also looked very fit and strong, so he must be a martial artist.
Seeing her younger brother being scolded, Su Yushan quickly tried to smooth things over, "Brother, don't be angry. Ask Jiafeng what happened first. Perhaps there's some misunderstanding?"
Hearing the pleasant sound, Su Jiafeng realized that the curtain had been lifted and a beautiful woman had emerged from the inner room; it was none other than Su Yushan.
"elder sister!"
Upon seeing each other again after several months, Su Jiafeng was overjoyed. She quickly took a few steps forward, but then, bound by etiquette, dared not get too close and took two steps back, though her excitement was undeniable.
"Sister, I'm so glad to see you! How have you been?"
Glancing at Hongli beside her, Su Yushan covered her mouth and laughed, "Look at my face, it's gotten rounder, how could it not look good?"
Before coming here, Su Jiafeng was worried about his sister's life. But upon seeing her now, he realized that she was now a married woman, her hair styled in an elegant updo, having shed her youthful naiveté. Her every move exuded a graceful air. It seemed the Fourth Prince truly treated her well.
"Sister, you used to be too thin. It broke my heart to see you like that. You need to eat more and get a fuller figure."
After the two siblings chatted for a while, Hongli asked about Xin'er's matter, "Your elder brother has already told me about that matter. Since you knew about it, why did you conceal it?"
"I..." Su Jiafeng, feeling guilty under the questioning, made an excuse: "I've never been here before, I'm afraid they won't let me in."
Su Mingfeng retorted, "How do you know they won't let you in if you haven't even tried? I think you're so infatuated with that Xin'er that you can't even tell right from wrong!"
Su Jiafeng was still hesitating, but now that the truth had been revealed, he had no choice but to make up an excuse: "I still have to work at the restaurant and can't skip work at will. I was thinking of coming over when I had some free time."
There's no point in pursuing these matters further now. Hongli doesn't care what Su Jiafeng thinks; he only wants to know the whole story.
"Are you sure it was Xin'er who told Jin Minjing about Yu Shan's engagement?"
The Jin Minjing mentioned by the Fourth Prince must refer to Princess Jin, right? Su Jiafeng didn't know the names of the maids in the manor and could only guess based on her intuition.
“That’s what she told me, but she said she didn’t know how Jin Gege instructed others to murder my sister.”
It really is related to Kim Min-jung!
The moment he heard it with his own ears, Hongli looked at Su Yushan with eyes full of guilt. Su Yushan was indeed wronged. Fortunately, someone finally found evidence to prove her innocence. She had no intention of quarreling with Hongli. She only wanted to find out the mastermind behind it all!
