Chapter Seventy-Six: Informing

“Brother Su, I admit that I did have ulterior motives when I first approached you, but since I got to know you, I have found that you are an optimistic and upright person who is very kind to everyone in the restaurant and takes good care of me. I know that you told me that matter because you trusted me, but I failed to keep the secret and caused Su Gege to be framed.”

I do bear undeniable responsibility for this matter, but I hope you understand that I now consider you a friend. I deeply regret my actions and hope you can give me another chance. I promise to change my ways and never contact Jin Gege again.

She repeatedly assured him and pleaded softly, finally swaying Su Jiafeng's upright heart. He was no longer able to judge right from wrong, or even what to choose. Looking up at the twinkling stars, Su Jiafeng felt lost and helpless, letting out a soft sigh.

"I feel very confused right now, and I want to be alone."

After saying this, Su Jiafeng did not continue on the same road as her, but turned and took another road.

Xin'er wasn't sure what he would do, but his hesitation was a good thing; at least she still had a glimmer of hope. At this point, she had no other choice but to pin her hopes on Su Jiafeng.

I hope she holds a place in his heart, and I hope he doesn't tell anyone about this.

As Su Jiafeng walked home, she reached the alley entrance and suddenly caught sight of a slender figure!

He was startled to see a dark figure in the pitch-black night. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was someone he knew. "Miss He? What are you doing here?"

Her home isn't in this direction, so it's definitely unusual for her to come here. After a moment of silence, He Yunning said, "Uh... I'm feeling a bit unwell, so I came to see a doctor for some medicine."

He Yuning usually treated him well, so he naturally had to think of her in return. "It's the middle of the night, the doctor's probably closed. It's not safe for you to walk alone. I'll go with you to knock on the door!"

To avoid being exposed, He Yuning had no choice but to go with him to find a doctor.

On the way, Su Jiafeng couldn't help but ask, "You heard everything?"

She knew exactly what he was talking about; it was so obvious that denying it would be pointless. Nodding, He Yunning took the initiative to say:

"I heard you, but don't worry, this is your private matter, I won't interfere."

Having just been deceived, Su Jiafeng no longer knew who he could trust, but he still wanted to say, "This matter is of utmost importance. I haven't made a decision yet, so please keep it a secret for me."

He Yuning disliked meddling in other people's business, so she readily agreed and repeatedly assured that she would not tell anyone.

Su Jiafeng accompanied her to see a doctor and got medicine, then personally took her home before returning to her own home.

That night, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep, his dreams filled with the dilemma of whether or not to tell his sister about it.

He hadn't made a decision yet. The next afternoon, while he was busy clearing away dishes at the restaurant, someone suddenly came to the Fourth Prince's residence, saying that the Fourth Prince wanted to see him and asked him to come over.

Su Jiafeng had never met the Fourth Prince before, so she wondered why he wanted to see her. "May I ask, young man, what business does the Fourth Prince have with me?"

The servant did not say it explicitly, only that it was for Princess Su.

For his sister? Could it be that Fourth Master already knows about that matter? But he didn't expose Xin'er!

Su Jiafeng was puzzled, then suddenly remembered someone. A thought flashed through his mind: Could it be that Miss He had informed on him?
