Chapter Fifty-Five: The Little Fairy

Before Su Yushan could even get close, she was suddenly spun around, turned around, and ended up sitting on his lap! This sudden turn startled her, and she quickly clarified...

"I didn't bite hard, I bit very lightly."

If she had bitten him hard, the pain would have passed quickly. It was precisely because her bite was so light that he had this idea. Gazing into her eyes, Hongli felt his mouth go dry.

"You think I wouldn't dare touch you while you're in the carriage?"

Her intuition told her that he was probably just trying to scare her, but she still didn't dare to take the risk and directly admitted defeat and begged for forgiveness, "I was wrong, I will never provoke you again."

To prevent him from doing anything inappropriate, she obediently planted a sweet kiss on his cheek, and then asked softly, "Since I've been so good, please tell me where we're going!"

Hongli smiled with satisfaction, and without further suspense, told him the truth: "Go find the Fifth Prince."

It's the Fifth Prince again. He always takes Hongzhou with him on his trips. Su Yushan couldn't help but sigh, "You two brothers have a very good relationship!"

Speaking of his fifth brother, Hongli's eyes softened. "My third brother has become estranged from us. Only Hongzhou is about the same age as me, and we have a deep bond."

Su Yushan silently counted on her fingers. Hongli only had three brothers. Compared with Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Yongzheng had very few children! "It's good that he has fewer brothers. It avoids the predicament of the struggle for the throne among the nine princes and the suspicion between father and son."

Within the royal family, power struggles seem to be the norm. "I might have other brothers in the future, who knows?"

Su Yushan thought to herself: No matter how many princes Emperor Yongzheng has, none of them are a match for you. The throne can only be yours. However, she only thought about it and dared not say it aloud. If Hongli questioned her, she would have no way to explain!

Now that she knew her destination, she didn't ask any more questions. She sat in the carriage and leisurely enjoyed the pine nut and hawthorn filling that Hongli had specially prepared for her. It was sweet and sour and tasted excellent.

A quarter of an hour later, the carriage arrived at the entrance of Hongzhou's residence.

Hongli got out of the carriage first and walked to the gate of the mansion. The steward immediately came to greet him with a smile and said, "Fourth Master, you've arrived."

"Where is the fifth prince? Is he at home?"

The steward said with a forced smile, "It's really unfortunate, Fifth Master isn't home."

"Where did you go?"

"This..." The steward hesitated, as if he had something difficult to say. Hongli narrowed his dark eyes and questioned again, "Where did Hongzhou go? Steward An, just say what you have to say, there is no need to hide anything."

With a sigh, Steward An said helplessly, "There are some things I shouldn't be meddling in, but Fifth Master hasn't been returning home every night lately and often stays out. I'm worried that if word gets out and someone with ulterior motives tells the Emperor, what should I do if the Emperor reprimands Fifth Master?"
