Chapter 181: Ingenious

Early this morning, Lin Mo took Lin Wu and a few others and bustled around in their yard, arranging the surroundings.

Su Mu held a pot of green plants he had brought back from town and placed them in a prominent position by the window. He also carefully watered them and moved them a few inches closer to the sun.

It was a small acacia tree, covered with bright red fruits, which looked very festive.

People passing by couldn't help but take a few more glances into the house, wanting to see what new things the Lin family was doing at the moment.

Several strong and rough men were busy climbing up and down to make arrangements, while Lin Sheng and Su Yunxia were preparing chicken, duck and fish in the kitchen, and preparing today's ingredients first.

Because today is Mu Mu’s birthday, I prepared a variety of ingredients. By the way, there is another very important thing that I want to do for him as well!

In a corner of the yard, Lin Wen and Tuanzi were playing with sandbags, while Tang Jie was limping to get food for Lin Wen.

Seeing that Tang Jie had difficulty walking, Awen began to feel sorry for him.

"Brother Jie, come over and sit down. Your feet are the same as Awen's, so you have to sit down. Amo said that Awen has a foot injury and can only walk on his own after the injury heals.

Jie Ge is in the same situation as A Wen, so Jie Ge can't leave either. He has to get better before he can leave."

Lin Wen looked innocent and took care of others just as they took care of themselves.

He held Tang Jie's hand, swaying back and forth while coquettishly saying, "Brother Jie, Brother Jie, don't go. You have to be as good as Awen. If you want to sit, sit."

Tang Jie showed a peaceful smile on his face, and said a little embarrassedly: "Awen, I'm fine. I'm not injured. I still have to help with the work."

After hearing this, Lin Wen pouted and muttered unhappily, "Brother Jie is not a good boy."

Lin Wen held onto Tang Jie's hand and wouldn't let go, no matter how Tang Jie tried to coax him. Tuanzi, still a child, thought they were playing a game, so he copied Lin Wen and grabbed Tang Jie's other hand.

Imitating Lin Wen's words: "Brother Jie is not obedient."

This made everyone present laugh.

Lin Mo hung the newly-made small lanterns on the wall. After hanging several rows, he stopped his work and leaned on the ladder to rest for a while.

Seeing that Lin Wen and Tuanzi insisted on dragging Tang Jie with them, Lin Mo began to persuade them.

"Brother Jie, don't refuse. The two little cuties want to play with you. Just play with them for a while. We are almost done with this job."

When Lin Wen heard Lin Mo's voice, he quickly pulled Tang Jie over, asked him to sit down obediently, and kept stuffing his favorite toys into his hands.

Su Mu placed out many pots of flowers in a row. One third of the huge yard was filled with potted plants.

The fragrance of flowers filled the air, attracting many butterflies and bees.

Looking at this newly built house, which was slowly filled with the breath of life, Lin Mo had already imagined lying on the rocking chair with Su Mu in the future, using a large sunflower fan to cool off in the summer, and basking in the warm sunshine in the winter. He would then boil a pot of tea, put a small red clay stove next to it, and roast persimmons, sweet potatoes, and even chicken wings.

Live a life of leisure and peace, content and happiness.

Just as Lin Mo was still immersed in beautiful fantasies, the sound coming from outside the door brought him back to the present.

Villager A: "Hey, you said the Su family is also strange. Early this morning, the whole family disappeared. The door was locked. I don't know where they went."

Villager B: "I heard about this. It seems that the whole family went to the town, or even the county, to seek treatment for Su Yunchun. I also heard that Lin Mo seemed to have paid a large sum of medical expenses, but that thing probably can't be cured."

Two villagers who went up the mountain to chop firewood were chatting animatedly with each other about gossip they had heard elsewhere.

After what happened last night, the Su family's affairs became the talk of the villagers after dinner. As the saying goes, good news doesn't travel far, but bad news travels a thousand miles.

Lin Mo raised a faint smile and pretended to be calm as he worked on the work at hand.

He knew better than anyone what had happened to the Su family.

Late last night, Lin Mo secretly went to the Su family and gave them a sum of money, enough for Su Yunchun to see a doctor and for their family to live an ordinary life.

As long as they don't waste money and don't spend a lot of money, and as they have hands and feet, they can find some work, so they will never starve to death.

Lin Mo's intention was obvious. He wanted the Su family to disappear from Maolin Village from now on.

"Here are some banknotes and silver, enough for you to spend frugally."

Seeing Lin Mo speaking in a gentle manner with such high spirits, the old couple Su felt a chill down their spines.

Uncle Su stammered, "You, what do you want to do..."

The Su family members huddled together, fearing that Lin Mo would open his bloody mouth and eat them and spit out bones in the next second.

Lin Mo explained his purpose in a gentle tone: "Nothing. I just want you to take this money, leave this village, and never come back. Do you understand?"

Uncle Su was terrified, with cold sweat on his forehead. He spoke toughly, but his heart was broken and he was just trying to hold on.

"What will you do to us if we don't move?"

Lin Mo sneered, sat leisurely on a stool, and said while leaning on the table, "There are many ways, some good and some bad. Which one do you want to choose?"

Lin Mo teased him deliberately, and then continued: "What I have chosen for you now is the good one. If it is not good, you can try it. I am afraid you can't stand it."

After saying this, a sinister smirk appeared on Lin Mo's handsome face. He was both good and evil, making people feel a little bit crazy.

That night, under Lin Mo's surveillance, the Su family packed up their belongings, got on the ox cart arranged by Lin Mo, and left Maolin Village.

After this incident, the Su family had truly encountered a tough opponent. As long as Lin Mo was around, they dared not stay there. Unable to beat him or scold him, they could only stay away from him and never see him again.

Near noon, the living room and yard were filled with various gifts.

A long dragon stretched from the hall to the yard and was almost at the door.

After Su Mu finished working in the kitchen and came out with the dishes, he was shocked when he saw these things.

"Lin Mo, what are all these? Why are they all on the table? Didn't we agree to have a big meal together as a family today..."

Su Mu was halfway through his speech when he finally figured it out.

He hurriedly asked Lin Mo: "Are these the gifts you want to prepare for me?"

Su Mu almost screamed in fright. He widened his eyes in disbelief and looked at the long line. How much money would this cost? It was too expensive.

At first I thought Lin Mo would prepare gifts for me, but I didn’t expect so many!

Lin Mo's eyes were filled with a deep smile as he looked at Su Mu lovingly.

"Not much. No matter how much I give you, it won't be enough."

Su Mu felt sweet in her heart and pinched Lin Mo's smooth face.

Lin Mo gently brushed the hair beside Su Mu's ear and said softly, "The birthday present is at the back. I'll give it to you after dinner. These are a big invitation to you. You can't refuse them.

Today, we held a birthday party and a gift-giving ceremony together."
