Chapter 4 Neighbors

Because when they were at the neighborhood committee, including Secretary Li, everyone seemed to be chatting naturally on the surface. Although Xu Junyang didn't say much, she could still feel that several people treated him with special respect.

Maybe he has another identity.

Grandma Junyang took her through an arched porch and into the dining room.

As soon as she entered the door, Chen Man was attracted by the flowers and plants on the balcony outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

"My name is Chen Mantai, right?"

Chen Man smiled and said, "Yes, grandma."

"I'm old and my memory is not good. Come and sit down."

After Junyang's grandmother asked, she called out behind her, "Junyang, Chen Man is here, come and have dinner."

Chen Man subconsciously turned her head. On the right side of the door, behind the partition, there was a lounge. Xu Junyang was sitting on the sofa, leaning against the low window and making a phone call.

Chen Man sighed that even the kitchens of wealthy families were decorated elegantly.

White walls, black sofas, a small round black table, a glass vase with a bunch of pink roses, black hollow wooden windows, murals, vintage crystal chandeliers, sunset halo, and a handsome man.

Hearing his grandmother calling him, he turned around and happened to meet Chen Man's eyes. He smiled at her modestly and raised his hand to gesture behind her.

Chen Man turned around and saw three dishes and a soup on the heavy black wooden table.

A bunch of champagne roses are placed in a milky white ceramic round-mouthed vase, adding a touch of warmth to the retro black and white restaurant.

The large round wooden carved window with a large blank space in the middle satisfies the lighting requirements of the restaurant. The landscape outside the window is reflected, forming a vivid painting.

The kitchen and dining room are separated by a display wall, which is filled with various expensive-looking wine bottles.

Clean, tidy and stylish.

Junyang's grandmother went into the kitchen, took out the dishes and chopsticks, and saw that she was still at the entrance.

"Don't be shy, come and sit. I just made two dishes. Come quickly or they'll get cold."

Chen Man was indeed somewhat bewildered, especially facing Xu Junyang. She had just troubled someone else, and now she was having dinner with him.

If it was an ordinary farmhouse, perhaps she could adapt to it, but this was completely inconsistent with her fantasy of a rural kitchen.

But she couldn't be rude, she had to be more proactive and generous, not petty, she kept reminding herself. "Grandma, I want to go wash my hands."

"Go wash in the kitchen. There's a sink."

"good."

Chen Man walked through another curved door and entered the kitchen.

I thought the kitchen was also full of style. And it certainly is. It's very similar to the restaurant.

But even though the one in the corner looked beautiful, Chen Man immediately recognized its true identity - a wood stove. She had never imagined that there would be a wood stove with a range hood hanging above it!

Oh!

Chen Man smiled, washed her hands and came out. She said to Jun Yang's grandmother, "Grandma, your house is so beautiful. I feel a little embarrassed. It's so clean. It would be a shame if I stepped on it and made it dirty."

When Grandma Junyang heard this, her smile deepened. To say her home was beautiful was a credit to her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. But to be praised for its cleanliness was genuine joy. It was her own achievement.

"Oh, I have nothing to do all day so I just clean up. What's clean or not? The floor is for stepping on."

Junyang's grandmother looked at the flowers on the table and continued, "The house was built by Junyang's parents. I won't interfere with the decoration. As long as there is a place to live, it's fine. Don't you think so? When you get old, you should stop being nosy."

"I'm just responsible for cleaning up. Look, his mother said that putting a bouquet of flowers on the dining table would make it more romantic, so I change the bouquet every once in a while."

Chen Man knew that this was how old people were.

She starts by chatting with you about her achievements, her son, daughter-in-law, grandson, the unpleasant things in life, her intelligence and talent...

Chen Man listened with a smile and agreed, "A clean home depends on the maintenance of the whole family. Your daughter-in-law is sentimental, and you are willing to cooperate. The house is spotlessly clean. Your family atmosphere is very good, grandma."
