Chapter 27: Defeat the Enemy with One Move

Chapter 27: Defeat the Enemy with One Move

He bounced up from the sofa like a cheetah poised for action. With nimble steps, he dodged the burly men in front of him like a swimming fish, weaving between the men in black like a ghost.

He stood behind Liz in the blink of an eye, and before she could even scream, he disappeared in a flash.

Lizzie opened her mouth wide, her voice choked in her throat. Her eyes were wide open, her face filled with terror, yet she couldn't utter a single sound.

She was like a fish with its gills pierced, its mouth opening and closing, extremely quiet.

The only thing that could be swung desperately was the tail, but it was held back by a slightly cold hand.

Ning Che used Lizi as a human shield, standing in front of him and hindering the movements of the black-clad bodyguards.

He leaned his head over Lizzie's neck, his face livid and his voice icy. "Everyone get out!"

The bodyguards all looked at Lizzie. The little girl was a pampered flower in a greenhouse and had never experienced any wind and rain.

Seeing that all the bodyguards were helpless against him and she herself was being strangled, she was paralyzed by fear, knowing that danger was right behind her.

He didn't care about any new or old grudges at the moment. His nose and tears were streaming, and he couldn't speak. He just nodded frantically at the bodyguards.

The black-clad bodyguards quickly retreated outside, and the door was locked from the outside. The low-pressure vortex above the living room dissipated, the pheromones disappeared completely, and silence returned to the room.

Ning Che's cheeks were red and he was holding his breath.

The pheromone scent swirling in the air was too chaotic, completely different from Fu Chengyun's scent. He only felt a foul stench, and the smell made his stomach churn after taking a second. He only breathed a sigh of relief after the bodyguards had retreated.

"If you just stay still, I'll let you go." He said, nudging Lizzie's back with his elbow.

Lizzie's calves couldn't stop shaking and she nodded through sobs.

She was pushed to the front of the sofa. Ning Che grabbed her shoulders and helped her turn around, then pressed her shoulders to make her sit on the sofa.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, and the danger in the corners of his eyes made Lizzie dare not look up.

"I'll whip you if you dare move!"

"Yeah!" Lizzie's face was covered with snot and tears, and she nodded rapidly.

Seeing her like this, she must have been frightened silly and couldn't cause any more trouble.

Ning Che felt relieved and quickly helped Butler Li up, and then helped Butler Li and his aunt to the cashmere carpet next to the sofa. He then helped Chen He and the mother and son to sit on the sofa.

Only then did he stand in front of a few people and wipe the sweat off his forehead.

There was a set of white porcelain tea sets on the coffee table, and the Biluochun tea in the teapot was still warm.

Ning Che poured a cup and brought it to Chen He. "Fu Chengyun calls you sister, so I do the same. Sister, have a cup of tea to calm your nerves."

"Hey! Good!"

Steam curled up from the teacup, and the refreshing aroma of tea made her relax a lot. Chen He picked it up and took two small sips.

Seeing Ning Che's calm expression, neither happy nor angry, sitting next to him and chatting about family matters, he looked so calm and composed, as if the critical situation just now was not worth mentioning in front of him.

Chen He couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration and appreciation.

Jiaer was very reluctant to be close to Lizi. She struggled to break free from Chen He's arms, ran to Ning Che with her chubby little legs, and threw herself into his arms.

"My handsome uncle, you're so awesome! You defeated the bad guys in just a few moves!"

Ning Che touched his head and smiled dotingly, but when he glanced at Lizi he was full of disdain.

"Didn't I teach you yesterday to pick the weakest one and beat him to death?"

Hearing this, Lizzie, who had been trembling with fear, couldn't help but shudder.

"Heh!" Ning Che sneered, the curve of his lips revealing obvious sarcasm.

"Little girl, you're the only one who wants to settle a score with me, you're still a bit naive." He casually threw a lychee to Lizzie with a contemptuous tone. "Isn't it just a score? Come on. Tell me, I'll settle it with you!"

Lizzie held a litchi in her hands on her knees, trembling and not daring to look at him.

"I, I don't, I don't have any debts to settle." She forced a smile from the corner of her mouth, which was uglier than crying.

"Heh!" Ning Che glanced at her with disdain. He picked up Jia'er and sat opposite Lizi.

"What new grudges and old grudges! In the final analysis, you just hate me for stealing Fu Chengyun, right?"

...Lizzie lowered her head and dared not say a word.

The living room was silent, the windows wide open. The birds in the sycamore tree chirped non-stop, seemingly speaking up for Ning Che.

He raised his head and looked straight at Lizi. His pair of affectionate eyes were clearly smiling, but it made people taste some bitterness for no reason.

"Is it me who robs him or him who robs me?"

In Chen He's mind, he was a warrior of steel, cunning and resourceful, neither humble nor arrogant, and unyielding. He hadn't shown the slightest anger in the face of Li Zi's slander and abuse, nor the slightest fear in the face of the burly men, but now his face was filled with anger.

"You think your brother Cheng Yun is such a good person! He was the one who drugged me and made me have a fever regularly. I can't live without him."

The voice grew louder and louder, and every word was as rough as sandpaper, causing a sharp pain in Mosuo's eardrums.

Lizzie looked up, her eyes filled with surprise, confusion, and pity. It was so complicated that she couldn't believe her ears.

Her eyebrows, which had been stretched into a graceful arc, were deeply furrowed, and her nostrils flared violently. Finally, a vivid expression appeared on her picturesque face, one of faint resentment and sadness.

"You all say I robbed him, but has anyone ever asked me if I'm willing to stay here?"

"I am such a person!"

After struggling to climb up amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood, he finally stood at the pinnacle of power... only to have to start all over again in an unfamiliar world, and even lost the inner strength he was proud of.

Her slender knuckles were clenched purple, and her lips were pale from being pursed, as if she was trying hard to suppress the pain that had been there for a long time.

He tilted his head slightly to look out the window. A flock of birds on the sycamore tree flapped their wings and flew away.

Ning Che watched coldly. The bird was still free, but where could he go?

Seeing his desolate expression, Lizi and Chen He looked at each other, not knowing how to talk to him.

The living room fell into a long silence.

Jia'er didn't know how to judge the situation. She got out of her mother's arms, ran to Ning Che and threw herself into his arms. Her voice was soft, and her little hands imitated Ning Che's way, gently stroking his back.

"Don't be afraid, pretty uncle. If my uncle treats you badly, my mother and I will take you to live with me."

Ning Che lowered his eyes, slightly pulled the corners of his mouth, and his long eyelashes drooped listlessly, looking completely helpless.

"I can't go anywhere. I stay in this house all day long, waiting for him to come back. I'm not allowed to go out unless he's here."

His pupils suddenly dilated, and a layer of ice formed in his eyes.

"His father wants to kill me, his brother ridicules me, and you're looking for trouble with me too! Who do you think I am?"

He suddenly smiled foolishly, his eyes curved and radiant like peach blossoms. "Do you think I'm the evil Daji? Then who is the master? Who is the servant?"

The smile did not reach his eyes, and the sadness in his eyes was shocking.

Ning Che lowered his head, revealing a section of his neck. His skin was so thin that you could almost see the blue veins on the side of his neck. It was so thin and white that it seemed like it would break if the wind blew.

Chen He came over and brought him a cup of hot tea.

She had never expected that her usually gentle and easygoing brother would actually forcibly imprison someone. How was this any different from the bandits who forcibly robbed wives in ancient times?

She looked at Ning Che carefully.

Such a beautiful yet not delicate, handsome yet not artificial omega is truly one in a million.

Could it be that Cheng Yun is attracted by her beauty?

The sympathy in his eyes increased a little.

"Xiao Che, don't be sad. I'll talk to Cheng Yun when we get back. He's really outrageous! No matter what, I can't stop you from leaving the house!"

Jia'er chimed in. "That's right, handsome uncle. My uncle grew up without a mother, so he might be a little abnormal growing up alone. If you can't stand it, just divorce him."

Ning Che burst out laughing at the innocent childish words. The fragile and poignant feeling of brokenness also mostly disappeared.

He rubbed the little boy's head and said with a smile: "Not really."

After all, he had no foundation and didn't know how to survive in this world. Without Fu Chengyun, not to mention fine clothes and delicious food, he wouldn't even have a QR code to beg for food!

Oh~ just make do with it!

Ning Che wanted to take the teacup handed to him by Chen He, but just as he stretched out his hand, someone stuffed a peeled lychee into his palm.

He looked up and saw Lizzie standing in front of him with a serious expression.

Her cheeks flushed and she bit her lower lip, as if she had made up her mind.

"sorry."

She suddenly bowed and said seriously.
