Chapter 36 Finding Excuses
Zhou Zhenxing couldn't understand, "Why are you asking this?"
"Can't I say?" Su Jin did not answer his question.
“There’s nothing I can’t say. Our regimental commander’s surname is Shi, and his name is Shi Kang.” Zhou Zhenxing thought she might just be curious.
Upon hearing this completely unfamiliar name, Su Jin continued, "Should I go and talk to him?"
"you?"
Su Jin nodded. "Didn't you say that your regimental commander disagreed with our divorce because of me? Would it be better if I went to talk to him?"
Zhou Zhenxing hadn't thought of this solution. "It's probably very difficult, unless we have some compelling reason to get a divorce."
"How about we find one?" Su Jin suggested, following his suggestion.
Zhou Zhenxing was increasingly out of sync with her. "What do you mean?"
Su Jin realized for the first time that his reaction was not flexible. "Find a reason why we must get a divorce."
Zhou Zhenxing was stunned for a second, then his eyes lit up.
"How could I not have thought of that!"
Su Jin also wanted to ask, why didn't he think of that?
However, Zhou Zhenxing's face quickly fell again. "But what reason can we give?"
A broken relationship is unacceptable, except for... issues of conduct.
The thought suddenly popped into his head, and even the way he looked at Su Jin became a little guilty.
He cautiously probed, "Could you... tell me..."
Su Jin looked at him seriously, "What did you say?"
Zhou Zhenxing steeled his resolve. "The regimental commander knows about your amnesia, so can we say that you've remembered some things from the past and realize that you actually love another man, which is why you insist on getting a divorce?"
Su Jin: "..."
This guy is really going all out for a divorce; he doesn't even care about his own reputation anymore.
Zhou Zhenxing certainly has a sense of shame, but this is the only reason he can use to get a smooth divorce.
Besides, it only means that she had someone else in her heart before, not that she actually cheated on him.
"Xiao Jin, I know this is hard for you to say, but this is just this once. Consider it an obligation on my part. Whatever compensation you want in the future, you can have it!"
A hint of coldness and disgust was suppressed deep in Su Jin's eyes.
“If you don’t mind, then of course I don’t mind either.”
Zhou Zhenxing visibly breathed a sigh of relief, his excitement barely concealed.
"Then it's settled. However, the commander might actually meet with you in person. Don't be afraid then, just say what we've agreed on."
In this way, even the regimental commander would definitely approve their divorce, and he wouldn't have any opinions or complaints about him.
Su Jin took in his joy, followed by his impatient admonitions over and over again.
Two days later, at noon.
Zhou Zhenxing drove a military jeep to pick her up.
Su Jin approached the car, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips.
He opened the back door directly.
Zhou Zhenxing gestured, "Just sit in the passenger seat."
"Let's sit in the back, so as not to be misunderstood."
Su Jin's explanation made him want to refute it, to say that he didn't care about these things. But even though the words were already on the tip of his tongue, he swallowed them back.
"The commander wants to see you."
On the way there, Zhou Zhenxing took the initiative to explain the purpose of picking her up.
Su Jin had already thought of it. "Don't worry, I know what to say."
Zhou Zhenxing was very relieved because she had always been so obedient.
He subconsciously glanced at her through the rearview mirror.
Her pale, almost translucent face showed no emotion whatsoever, giving off an indescribable sense of coldness and aloofness.
