Chapter 122 This fish is no good, it won't behave.
Si Jingxu was at least somewhat conscientious and didn't tease the child for too long.
“I’ll sleep next to you, just a wall between us. If you need anything at night, just call out and I’ll hear you.” Si Jingxu patted her head. “Rest for a while, I’ll call you for dinner later.”
From lunchtime until the afternoon, Yan Buyu did not see Qin Yue again.
She asked Si Jingxu, and the answer she received was: "This afternoon, Brother Jingxu will take you for a walk around the town. You can't listen to everything other people say. We'll invite her along when we go to the mountains tomorrow."
That makes sense.
As the heir of the Si family, he was much more considerate than her.
After the meal, Zhou Ze brought over an electric scooter.
Yes, electric vehicles.
Yan Buyu stared at the pink toy car, then looked at Si Jingxu and asked, "Brother Jingxu, shall we ride this?"
"Otherwise what?" Si Jingxu straddled the seat, his long legs supporting him on the ground. "The town isn't big; you can drive around it in an hour. What's the point?"
“Okay.” Yan Buyu obediently sat down in the back. She was wearing a skirt, so she could only sit sideways.
This car is no good; there's nothing for her to hold onto.
As Si Jingxu braked for the third time to avoid someone, and she bumped into his back, she asked in a soft voice, "Brother Jingxu, can I grab your clothes? My face hurts."
Si Jingxu laughed so hard his shoulders were shaking. "Grab it boldly," he said.
A small hand reached out from his right and carefully pinched the hem of his clothes.
Si Jingxu frowned. What good would this do?
He grabbed her wrist and wrapped her arm around his waist. "This road is difficult to walk on. You bumped your face and it's swollen. Your older brothers are going to beat you up."
He said it in a very serious tone.
That strange feeling that had appeared before surged back into Yan Buyu's heart.
He was only wearing a shirt, and she was wearing a sleeveless dress.
Through the thin layer of fabric, she could feel his body temperature, as well as his lean waist and firm abdominal muscles, through his bare arms.
"Miss Yan!!"
Si Jingxu stopped the car when he heard someone shouting.
Without saying a word, he looked over and saw Qin Yue's bright smiling face.
She waved to herself from inside a pharmacy.
"Yueyue." Yan Buyu got off the electric scooter and walked over. "Is this your family's traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy?"
“Yes, it belongs to my grandfather. My brother and I are still apprentices, working for our family.” She introduced generously, “Wait a moment, I’ll get you two cups of plum juice.”
"Ah, no need." Yan Buyu refused, not wanting to trouble anyone.
But Qin Yue was faster than her and had already run to the back.
Qin Xing smiled apologetically, "That's just how Yueyue is, always rushing around, but she means well."
Yan Buyu smiled and nodded, "Of course I know. I'll pay you for the plum juice."
"No need, no need," Qin Xing said, taking the payment code from the table. "Even if you are Yueyue's friend, let alone the town mayor's special guests, I cannot accept your money."
"Here it comes," Qin Yue said, carrying two cups of plum juice. "This is made by our family using Chinese herbs. It's delicious and good for your health. This room temperature cup is for your boyfriend. Since you have a sensitive stomach, this one is hot for you."
"Huh? How did you know I have a sensitive stomach?" Yan Buyu looked at her in shock.
“My family has been practicing traditional Chinese medicine for generations. I’m an apprentice, but I know a little bit,” Qin Yue said with a proud smile. “I’m pretty good, aren’t I?”
Traditional Chinese medicine is profound and extensive, and Yan Buyu gave it a thumbs up in admiration.
“We’ll be going now,” she said after taking a couple of steps, then suddenly remembered and turned back to say, “He’s not my boyfriend, he’s just an older brother of mine.”
Qin Yue paused for a moment, then patted her shoulder with an expression of someone who had been through it all, "You're too young to keep it from your family. It's okay, I understand you."
Qin Xing's face darkened. She had told her a thousand times to be polite, but the girl just wouldn't listen.
"You kept it from your family?" Yan Buyu asked Qin Yue.
Qin Yue's smile froze.
Qin Xingcai realized, "Yueyue?!"
He chuckled silently, then took the plum juice to find Si Jingxu.
"What mischief have you been up to? Why are you smiling so slyly?" Si Jingxu's heart skipped a beat when he saw her approaching, revealing a set of neat, white teeth.
"Hehe, it's nothing," Yan Buyu handed the hot plum juice to Si Jingxu, "Brother Jingxu, this is for you."
Si Jingxu didn't reach out, but looked at her with a smile.
After a two-second silence, he said, "Fine, fine, this is yours. But wait, how do you know the two cups are different?"
“With her loud voice, if you call Zhou Ze, he’ll probably hear you.” Si Jingxu took a sip of the plum juice, which was made from genuine medicinal herbs. “Drink it.”
Something seems off.
"If she said..." that he was her boyfriend, he must have heard it too?"
"What did you say?" Si Jingxu asked with a smile, waiting for her to utter those words.
"It's nothing." Yan Buyu's face flushed slightly. Without looking at him, she sat back in the back seat. "Let's go, driver."
Si Jingxu handed the drink to the back of the passenger and said, "Don't you dare drink my room temperature beverage, Miss Passenger."
Who's trying to steal a drink?
He kept quiet and muttered to himself, thinking that hot plum juice would just cool down to room temperature.
Fool.
"What are you cursing me about?" Si Jingxu's lazy voice drifted over from the front.
"I didn't, don't frame me." Yan Buyu denied it outright.
The town is small, but it has a lively atmosphere.
It's not the kind of life you find in big cities, with skyscrapers and luxury cars everywhere.
It is a peaceful and down-to-earth life.
Snack stalls set up in front of homes, elderly people selling fresh vegetables picked from their own fields, and neighbors and friends chatting leisurely everywhere.
My restless heart, which had been uneasy lately, has finally calmed down at this moment.
Si Jingxu forbids her from eating at roadside stalls, but he will slow down in scenic spots.
"You like it here?" Si Jingxu stopped the car. "Let's get out and walk around."
A stream flows by, and in the distance, people are washing clothes.
"I like it." Yan Buyu prefers quiet and peaceful places, and this kind of leisurely place where no one will bother her is what she longs for most.
"Then stay a couple more days. Tell your brother that they'll come over and have a couple of days of fun after they're done with their work." Si Jingxu wanted to spend some time alone with her, but he wanted to see her happy even more.
"Great!" Yan Buyu's eyes widened suddenly, and she pointed to the stream with delight, "Brother Jingxu, there are fish!"
"Want to catch fish?" Si Jingxu followed her footsteps, and sure enough, there were small fish fry in the clear stream, with a few slightly larger ones occasionally.
"I can't catch her, I'll just take Yueyue with me, she says she's really good at it." He said with a hint of regret, then turned around and paused in surprise.
The young master silently took off his shoes and socks and put them aside, rolled up his trouser legs, and slowly walked into the stream under the astonished gaze of Yan Buyu.
"Brother Jingxu? You can catch fish?"
Si Jingxu raised an eyebrow. "There's nothing I can't do."
Yan Buyu happily calculated, "If we catch fish, we'll have an extra meal tonight!"
Half an hour later, she gave up the idea.
“It’s hard to catch with bare hands, we need tools. This fish is too slippery,” Yan Buyu said, watching Si Jingxu’s face darken. She coaxed him carefully, “This fish is no good, it’s not behaving, let’s not take it.”
Si Jingxu stood with his hands on his hips, staring at the fish in the water that seemed to be mocking him.
