Chapter 464 Song Jingyi's IF Route (Part 4)
The toddler, not yet four years old, can understand words, but can only comprehend the literal meaning.
All Song Tingyu knew was that her beloved brother was going to be separated from her and her grandmother.
They haven't seen each other for a very, very long time.
The tears came quickly, falling down in a blur.
I didn't even bother to eat my favorite peach-flavored ice cream, as the pink ice cream liquid got all over my hands.
"I want my brother, I want my brother, I want my brother to come home with me, Grandma, Grandma, please talk to my brother, let's go home together, okay?"
Song Tingyu cried so hard, she was even more heartbroken than if she hadn't been able to eat ice cream.
Song Jingyi frantically tried to soothe him.
"Don't cry, little fish. Your brother is only going away for a short while. I'll come to see you whenever I have time, okay?"
"I don't want to, waaaaah, I want my brother." Song Tingyu didn't know how long "a while" was, but she knew she couldn't bear to be separated from her brother for even a moment.
Song Jingyi took a handkerchief to wipe his sister's tears, but her tears flowed much faster than he could wipe them away.
It just won't dry no matter how hard I try.
"Alright, Tingyu, calm down and listen to what Grandma has to say." Qiu Wanyin sighed.
Song Tingyu's crying subsided somewhat. She suppressed her sadness, her eyes brimming with tears, which she held back, and looked down at her grandmother.
Qiu Wanyin was incredibly soft-hearted; the child looked so pitiful when he cried.
However, for the sake of her grandson, she still had to let her granddaughter cry.
We cannot let a child's two tears ruin the older brother's future.
She had complete faith in Song Jingyi's judgment.
"Listen to me, you're going to kindergarten now, do you know that?" After seeing her granddaughter nod, she added, "Your brother will go to school too. He'll learn knowledge and skills so he can stay with us better, do you know that?"
Song Tingyu took a deep breath and stammered, "Brother... is he going to school?"
Qiu Wanyin nodded.
Song Tingyu felt much better.
Going to school? You should have said so earlier.
She's going to school too, everyone has to go to school.
“Then brother, you go to school, and you have to go home after school.” Her voice was hoarse as she sniffed. “Little Fish also has to go to school, otherwise she will turn into a happy little fool.”
Song Jingyi breathed a sigh of relief, blaming him.
Having never spent time with children, I didn't realize that soothing a child actually requires some strategies.
Grandma always had a solution.
He chuckled, snatched the ice cream from his sister's hand and tossed it away, then wiped her hands as he did so. "Who told you that going to school would turn you into a little fool?"
"Grandma," Song Tingyu said, her heart aching as she looked at the ice cream in the trash can, "Brother, I want to eat ice cream."
"Come on, let your brother take you to buy ice cream." Song Jingyi greeted his grandmother, picked up his younger sister, and walked outside.
"Brother, when do you get out of school? Grandma said I get out at five o'clock. Do you get out at five o'clock? We can watch cartoons together."
"My brother will be out of school a little later."
"What time? Six o'clock? Seven o'clock? Or eight o'clock? I need to go to sleep at eight o'clock."
"Brother, please come as soon as possible, okay?"
"good."
Song Jingyi timed it perfectly and sent his grandmother and younger sister to Su Cheng's home.
Song Tingyu left only a few months ago, so I don't remember at all.
When she saw how beautiful and big her house was, she still opened her mouth in surprise.
Grandma, our house is so beautiful!
Qiu Wanyin was also stunned; her house wasn't this big when she left.
"Jingyi, this..."
“During the years we were in Russia, I had our house expanded and renovated, and we bought all the surrounding land in your name, but we didn’t touch our old house.”
Qiu Wanyin had never lived in such a nice house in her entire life.
But instead of being pleasantly surprised, she was filled with worry.
Song Tingyu started running around in the yard.
"Grandma, are you upset with me?" Song Jingyi noticed his grandmother's bad mood and asked softly.
“Grandma doesn’t blame you, I’m just not used to it,” Qiu Wanyin looked around. “This place is so nice, so beautiful, but, Jingyi, I don’t want to spend their money.”
“This is my money,” Song Jingyi explained. “It’s money I earned myself, not Song Shuchen’s.”
"Huh?" Qiu Wanyin was shocked and confused. "That's a lot of money, isn't it? Where did you earn that money? Are you...are you alright?"
“I love my grandma. Before, I was paid for my missions as a mercenary, and I used that money to buy some Bitcoin and made a lot of money.”
Actually, no, his first funding came from Song Shuchen's money.
Damn it, might as well use it.
He was never an upright or kind person; anyone who could be used by him was considered lucky.
However, he couldn't say that to his grandmother; she was too stubborn.
I told her, she probably wouldn't feel at ease living there.
Qiu Wanyin couldn't understand any of this.
All she knew was that her grandson was very capable.
“So, Grandma, rest assured, this is my way of showing you filial piety,” Song Jingyi said, looking at his younger sister who was squatting on the ground picking at stones not far away, his eyes full of tenderness. “I just hope that you and Xiaoyu can live comfortably.”
"You must be very tired." The boy in front of me was only twelve years old, yet he carried too many responsibilities that someone his age should not be able to bear.
She could work her whole life and still not earn this much money.
"I'm not tired, Grandma. You always say that people can't be idle and always need to find something to do. Now I've found something I want to do, and I'm very happy. Besides, I'm even happier to be able to take care of you and Xiaoyu."
In both his past and present lives, he has always enjoyed challenges and making money.
These things flow in his blood.
"Then you..." Qiu Wanyin wanted to ask him where he was going and what he was doing.
But then I realized she didn't understand.
All she could do was say, "I'll stay here, take good care of Tingyu, and wait for you to come back. No matter where you are or what you're doing, remember that there are still us, the old and the young, at home. Please take good care of yourself."
“I know, Grandma.” Song Jingyi stepped forward and hugged his grandmother, who was a few feet shorter than him, and said softly, “I’m leaving now. Don’t let Xiaoyu see me, she’ll cry.”
Song Tingyu couldn't pry the stone off, so she turned to ask her brother for help, only to find her grandmother, who was left with tears streaming down her face.
The sensible girl clapped her hands, ran over, and hugged her grandmother's leg tightly. "Grandma, don't cry. My brother will be back from school soon. Let's wait for him together."
Qiu Wanyin blinked, stroked her granddaughter's little head, and smiled gently.
She knows the child she raised herself.
Jingyi is not one to stay put; he always has to venture out into the world.
Now it's perfect, having such a well-behaved little guy to keep me company.
Qiu Wanyin squatted down, hugged Song Tingyu, and gently comforted her: "Okay, Grandma will wait for your brother with Tingyu, okay? Come on, Grandma will take you for a walk in the yard now. We'll live here from now on."
"Grandma, there are fish in that pond. Can I feed them?"
