During the ceremony

During the ceremony

“What a show,” he said.

When the man entered, everyone fell silent, exchanging bewildered glances, unsure of what expression to adopt. After all, the last time they saw him was at the Crown Prince's birthday banquet, when the King had a falling out with him. And now he was here again, saying some inexplicable things.

The man who entered was Hicks. His red eyes, the same color as Tiff's, were now slightly smiling as he walked step by step from the doorway.

The footsteps were very light, but they were exceptionally clear in such a quiet environment.

He walked step by step toward Tiffany, scrutinizing her slightly reddened eyes, gently pursed lips, and wary gaze. He curled his lips into a slightly pleased smile.

When Tiff saw Hicks, she knew he was behind it all. She gripped Dope's hand tightly and frowned with displeasure.

Tiff was right; this matter was related to Hicks. It was Hicks who took the picture of the man with the mustache. What Tiff didn't even know was that it was Hicks who made her father write down the document disqualifying Tiff from inheriting the throne.

Hicks paused slightly as he approached her, then stepped forward and nodded to the king, saying, "Your Majesty."

The king nodded gently. "Sit down, Lord of the Magic Tower."

Although the two had a fight at the Crown Prince's birthday banquet, Hicks needed to continue attending royal meetings in order to better monitor Tiff. The King also needed Hicks' powerful magic to cast a barrier within the palace. Although it wasn't something only Hicks could do, she was better at it than the others, so they acted as if nothing had happened.

Hicks had just sat down, and before Pugo could say anything in his defense, a violent coughing sound came from the man with the mustache. As he coughed, the man's eyes widened, and he fell straight to the ground, blood gushing from his mouth and nose. The guards rushed over to check on him, and a moment later reported the news of the mustache man's death to the king.

The group was caught off guard by the series of news. First, the mustachioed man said that Tiff had been stripped of her inheritance rights. Then, Tiff accused Pugo of targeting her at every turn. Then Hicks appeared, and the mustachioed man died inexplicably.

The man with the mustache was carried away by the guards, and the king looked coldly at the bewildered Pugo.

“Pug, he’s one of your men. Do you have anything to say?”

Pugo immediately stepped forward and knelt on one knee, cold sweat already beading on his forehead. "Your Majesty, although he is my man, I know nothing about what he did today."

“Besides,” Pugo said, looking at Tiffany with teary eyes, “Tiffany is my niece, how could I do this to her?”

Tiffany turned her face away, lowered her eyes, and sobbed softly, looking as if she didn't want to see Pugo.

“Tiff!” Pugo said with a look of disappointment. “Do you really think I ordered him to do this?”

Tiffany seemed unable to hold back any longer. She raised her head, tears welling in her eyes, her chest heaving as if she were furious. "Even at a point like this, you still won't admit it?"

Everyone was a little nervous seeing her like this, afraid that Tiffany would faint again like she did at her coming-of-age ceremony last time. However, they were overthinking it, because Tiffany did not intend to pretend to faint now, since she still had to hold the inheritance ceremony.

As soon as Tiff uttered those words, Lisa immediately took out a holographic display and presented it to the king. The knight took the display, and the image inside appeared in mid-air, showing three people in a room.

The photo sphere was placed in a very discreet location, but even so, it was not difficult to see that there were three people sitting in the picture: Pugo, Bavi, and the man with the mustache who had just "died".

The figures inside the photo sphere come to life; in the image, Pugo is leaning back on a sofa with his eyes closed, and a sound is heard—

“That girl wants to be the head of the family at such a young age, how interesting.” Bavi’s voice carried a hint of disdain.

"Have they found the person?" Pugo opened his eyes and looked ahead.

“Of course, it wasn’t easy for me to find this illegitimate child; most of the others are dead.” Bavi said smugly, “I’ll see what kind of expression she has in the conference room tomorrow.”

Upon seeing this, Pugo's face instantly turned pale.

"Should we forge some more things?" The mustachioed man, who hadn't said a word while sitting on the sofa, suddenly spoke up.

The group exchanged glances and then simultaneously curled their lips into smiles.

The video ends here.

Tiff glanced at Pugo a few times, watching his expression change from panic to disbelief.

“Your Majesty!” Pugo knelt on the ground. “This isn’t real, this…” His finger trembled as he pointed at Tiff, “It’s all a forgery!”

Tiff did indeed forge it, but she forged what the mustache-wearing man said in the back. After all, in the original photo, the mustache-wearing man did not speak, and the photo should have stopped when Bavi mentioned the meeting room.

"Forgery?" Tiffany sneered. "Uncle Pugo, I've finally seen what it means to turn black into white!"

The king looked at Hicks and asked, "Can the images from the holographic ball be faked?"

"certainly."

Hicks smiled. "However, given Duke Strych's abilities, she can't forge it."

Hicks knew it was a fake because it was Hicks who told the mustachioed man that Tiff had been disinherited and who had given him the photo.

Hicks understood that Tiffany was testing him, testing whether he would expose Tiffany's forgery of the photo sphere.

Upon hearing Hicks's reply, Pugo's eyes widened. "No, this must be a forgery by her, Your Majesty. Please believe me."

The king ignored Pugo and looked at Tiffany, asking her where the photo sphere came from.

“The day before attending Uncle Bavi’s funeral, I met with Uncle Bavi’s wife. She always looked at me with a guilty look in her eyes.”

“I didn’t understand until she showed me the holographic projector.” Tiff recalled the appearance of the very thin, somewhat shrewd woman. “He felt guilty about what Bavi had done.”

“Your Majesty, that is indeed the case.” A woman with a harsh appearance walked in. She was very thin and looked like a piece of paper covered by a garment.

The woman lowered her head meekly and said, "Your Majesty, I am sorry for what Bavi has done."

Actually, things weren't as Tiffany described. Because of her husband's death, the woman didn't treat her well at all. It wasn't until Tiffany forcefully barged into Bavi's study, "found" the video recorder, and accidentally played it out, letting the woman see it.

Tiffany told the woman that she didn't want others to know about the family's discord, so the photo sphere was given to her by the woman herself, so as to maintain the family's reputation and not implicate the woman.

As for why Tiff knew the location of Bavi's photo sphere, it's because she had been monitoring the entire family.

Everyone, including Alice's family.

"Your Majesty, please do justice for me!" Tiff knelt down. Actually, she hadn't planned to eliminate Pugo today, but his men were unruly, so she couldn't be blamed.

The king's gaze was cold as he looked at Pugo and slowly said, "Kill."
