The morning sun shone softly through the thin mist, gently bathing the vibrant little village. The atmosphere was vastly different from before, brimming with the joy of initial success. Lin Yue rose early, stood in the courtyard, breathing in the fresh air, her mind filled with a multitude of thoughts. She knew that the successful sale of this new crop was just the beginning; there was still a long way to go to truly make the village prosperous, and expanding their business was the most important challenge they currently faced.
Lin Yue wore a light pink shirt with the cuffs slightly rolled up, revealing her slender wrists. She paired it with clean, dark blue trousers. Her hair was casually draped over her shoulders, a few strands fluttering gently in the breeze. Her eyes held a resolute expression mixed with a hint of barely perceptible worry; her brow was slightly furrowed, as if she were pondering complex issues. She knew that expanding the business meant greater responsibility and risk, and every decision could potentially impact the future of the entire village.
Chen Yu carried two steaming bowls of porridge out of the house. Seeing Lin Yue deep in thought, he sighed softly. "Yue'er, eat something first, don't overwork yourself. We can discuss expanding the business slowly." His voice was warm and gentle, his eyes full of concern. Chen Yu wore a simple white T-shirt, his well-defined muscles faintly visible beneath. His face was sharply defined, tanned a bronze by the sun, and his deep eyes were like a clear spring, calm yet powerful.
Lin Yue turned to look at Chen Yu, forcing a smile. "Yes, I know, but we need to hurry. This sales success is a great opportunity, we can't miss it." She took the porridge, but had no appetite, eating mechanically.
After breakfast, the two arrived at the village chief's house. Several village elders had already gathered in the courtyard, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation. Seeing Lin Yue and Chen Yu arrive, the village chief quickly invited them to sit down. "Lin Yue, Chen Yu, you've come. Everyone is very happy that the new crops sold well. Now we need to discuss how to expand the scale." The village chief's voice was a little hoarse, but full of strength. He wore a black Zhongshan suit, somewhat old, but still neat and tidy. His face was etched with the marks of time, each wrinkle seemingly telling a story of his hard work for the village. His eyes shone with hope for the village's future, a steadfast belief.
Lin Yue nodded, then took out a document from her bag. "Village chief, elders, these are some ideas that Chen Yu and I have been working on these past few days. Based on market demand, our current crop yields are far from sufficient. We need to expand the planting area and introduce some new planting technologies to improve both yield and quality." As she spoke, she handed the document to the village chief, her eyes intently watching everyone's reactions.
An elderly villager picked up the documents, looked at them, and frowned, saying, "Expanding the planting area is one way, but our village has limited land, and no one has ever been exposed to the new planting techniques. Will it work?" His eyes revealed his worry, and he gently shook his head.
Lin Yue patiently explained, "Uncle, I know you all have concerns. Regarding the land issue, we can consider reclaiming some wasteland, and we can also re-plan the underutilized land around the village. As for planting techniques, we can invite experts to train you. I believe that as long as you learn diligently, there will be no problem." Her eyes shone with confidence, trying to dispel the villagers' doubts.
Chen Yu added from the side, "Moreover, we can cooperate with the surrounding villages and share our planting techniques with them, so that they can also participate in the planting of new crops. This way, our yield can be greatly increased." His eyes gleamed with excitement, as if he could already see the prosperous scene after the expansion.
After listening to their words, the village chief pondered for a moment and said, "This is a good idea, but cooperating with the surrounding villages involves many issues, such as profit distribution and planting management. We need to consider it carefully." His eyes revealed caution, after all, this was a major matter concerning the development of the entire village and could not be decided hastily.
Lin Yue nodded and said, "Village Chief, you're right. We can first communicate with the village chiefs of the surrounding villages to see what they think. Regarding the distribution of benefits, we can formulate a reasonable plan based on the input and output of each village." Her eyes revealed a calmness born of deep thought, and every suggestion had been carefully considered.
After some discussion, everyone decided that Lin Yue and Chen Yu would first go to the surrounding villages to investigate and have preliminary communication with their village chiefs. The next day, Lin Yue and Chen Yu set off for the surrounding villages.
They first arrived at Lijia Village, which was relatively close by. This village was about the same size as theirs, but its economic conditions were much worse. Lin Yue and Chen Yu entered the village and saw that most of the houses were quite dilapidated, and the villagers were dressed simply. They asked a villager for directions to the village chief, and the villager kindly pointed them in the right direction.
Upon arriving at the village chief's house, they were warmly received by the village chief of Lijia Village. After Lin Yue explained their purpose, a hint of surprise flashed in the village chief's eyes. "This is a great opportunity! Our village has always wanted to develop, but we haven't had any good projects. If we could participate in your new crop planting, that would be wonderful." His eyes revealed eagerness, and his face beamed with excitement.
Lin Yue smiled and said, "Village Chief, we've come here to discuss cooperation with you. However, we need to understand your village's land resources and labor situation first." Her eyes were serious as she took out a small notebook to take notes.
