Chapter 11 The Birth of a Granddaughter (1/2)

Chapter Eleven

"Who?" Li Zhiwei was terrified. Could it be that Lin Jitong had managed to infiltrate the Prince An's residence?

Thinking of this, Li Zhiwei's heart was in her throat.

Just as Li Zhiwei was about to call for help, Xu Heming coughed awkwardly and said, "It's me!"

"Your Highness?" Li Zhiwei was shocked. She thought that the prince did not really want to marry her.

Unexpectedly, Xu Heming returned to their bridal chamber tonight. Could it be that he intends to consummate their marriage?

Thinking of this, Li Zhiwei quickly got up.

"Okay, you can lie down," Xu Heming said somewhat awkwardly. Over the years, he had gotten used to being alone without servants. The sudden presence of a girl in the room made him feel uneasy, but he thought that he owed her an explanation for what had happened today.

"Your Highness..." Li Zhiwei bit her lip, unsure of how to explain to Xu Heming.

"I know you've been wronged today, but your marriage to the Marquis of Ru'an's family has already gone through the proper betrothal and marriage ceremony. If we're talking about the Lin family deceiving you into marriage, the fact that Lin Jitong is already married isn't enough evidence. Only if I marry you will the Marquis of Ru'an's family be unable to make things difficult for you." Xu Heming then explained the purpose of his actions today.

Li Zhiwei was stunned. She hadn't expected that this was the reason why Prince An had humbled himself to marry her.

"Thank you, Your Highness." Li Zhiwei finally breathed a sigh of relief. She had wondered why Your Highness suddenly wanted to marry her.

“If one day you find someone you like, I will also give you a divorce certificate,” Xu Heming said somewhat awkwardly.

"If Your Highness encounters a girl you like, please grant me a divorce decree." Li Zhiwei thought to herself, since they have already said that, I should also show my sincerity.

"Well, I'm very busy with official duties, so I'll have to trouble you to take care of things for me during this time," Xu Heming said again.

Li Zhiwei's eyes widened. Could she really take care of the Prince of An's heir?

"I'm afraid I won't be able to take good care of you..." Li Zhiwei said somewhat nervously.

"Why do you still call yourself a commoner? You are my queen. Besides, Qing Shi chose your mother himself. He will definitely listen to you. If he doesn't, you can talk to me." Xu Heming had already decided that if Xu Qing Shi didn't listen to Li Zhiwei, he would have to teach him a lesson.

"I understand," Li Zhiwei said, startled at first, then somewhat awkwardly.

"Well, get some rest," said Prince An, taking off his outer garment as if he were talking about something perfectly ordinary.

Li Zhiwei's eyes widened; she hadn't expected the prince to actually want her to stay overnight. She...

The thought of consummating her marriage with Prince An filled Li Zhiwei with panic. She knew that in her previous life, although she had married Lin Jitong, they had never actually consummated their marriage.

Zhou Yutang didn't even like Lin Jitong talking to her too much. If it weren't for wanting to trick her out of her things, Lin Jitong probably wouldn't have said half a word to her in the first place.

Thinking of this, Li Zhiwei felt a sense of anticipation. In this life, she had already married Prince An and reversed the outcome of her previous life, so everything would definitely be different.

Although she was willing to give up all of her dowry, she was giving it up willingly, so why should Prince An have to risk his life to take anything from her?

Thinking of this, Li Zhiwei quickly stepped forward, wanting to help her husband change his clothes.

"This concubine will help Your Highness change your clothes," Li Zhiwei said shyly, taking a deep breath.

The sudden fragrance left Prince An at a loss. He was not an inexperienced man or woman; he had a previous wife with whom he had a child. However, for some reason, he was afraid that Li Zhiwei would regret marrying him.

"I'm going to sleep in the study." Xu Heming turned around and tried to escape.

"Your Highness, today is our joyous occasion. If you do not stay with me, what will the people in the palace say about me tomorrow? I did not enter the palace openly and honestly. If others look down on me because of this..." Li Zhiwei said to Xu Heming with a pleading expression, not knowing where she got the courage.
