Chapter 49 Why Be So Polite? (2/2)

"The child already knows he needs to get married?" Xu Heming said sarcastically.

“Your Highness, the young prince is still young.” Li Zhiwei was a little worried as she watched Xu Heming carrying Xu Qingshi like a chick.

"He's already thinking about getting married," Xu Heming said with dissatisfaction.

"Children say the darndest things," Li Zhiwei thought to herself. "How can Xu Heming, a grown man, hold a grudge against a child?"

This person is his own son.

But this man was actually arguing with his own son.

"See? My stepmother's heart is with me." Even though he was still being held by his father, Xu Qingshi didn't forget to provoke Xu Heming.

Because young Xu Qingshi lost his birth mother, and because Xu Heming was usually quite busy, the old princess indulged him a lot out of guilt.

"You brat, you said it yourself, she's your stepmother! Stop messing around!" Xu Heming sighed speechlessly, glancing at Li Zhiwei with some unease.

"Pretty sister, please save me! Let's get away from this big devil. I'll ask Grandma to introduce you to someone better than him!" Xu Qingshi waved his little paws at Li Zhiwei, shouting with great enthusiasm.

Anyone who didn't know better would think that the person holding him was a human trafficker.

"Xu Qingshi! This is too much!" Xu Heming shouted through gritted teeth as he looked at his son who kept dragging him down.

"Your Highness, wasn't it said that the young prince was to copy the Book of Rites?" Li Zhi reminded him with a smile.

"Hmph, I'll let you off the hook today because Zhiwei pleaded for you," Xu Heming said as he put Xu Qingshi down.

I'm still angry.

After all, if it weren't for his good-for-nothing son, he wouldn't need to sell himself into servitude in the palace to perform carrying logs for the emperor and his concubines.

Thinking of this, Xu Heming exuded cold air again.

"Now that Your Highness is back, I'll head back first. My father is waiting for me." After saying this, Li Zhiwei ignored the father and son who were still arguing and quickly made her way away.

"Stepmother, if you go, take me with you!" Xu Qingshi tried to catch up with Li Zhiwei, but Xu Heming pulled her back.

"Father, why are you pulling me?" Xu Qingshi glared at Xu Heming, who was pulling him, with a displeased expression.

"Behave yourself." Xu Heming watched Li Zhiwei's departing figure, his patience with Xu Qingshi reaching its limit.

"Oh, oh, oh! You can't even keep an eye on your own wife, what's the use of blaming me? Father, you always have such a cold face, even your stepmother was scared away by you." Xu Qingshi finished speaking and ran away.

"You brat!" Xu Heming gritted his teeth, realizing he had spoiled him too much.

As soon as Li Zhiwei left the Prince An's residence, she bumped into someone again.

"Don't you have eyes?" Zhou Yuying scolded with displeasure.

"I'm sorry." Li Zhiwei was taken aback at first. This person had clearly bumped into her, so why was he blaming her?

"It's clearly you who's not watching where you're going," Cuiguo said, blocking her young mistress's path with a look of dissatisfaction.

"Oh, who do we have here? Isn't this Miss Li who was kidnapped by Young Master Leng?" Zhou Yuying looked at Li Zhiwei with disdain, then sneered as if Li Zhiwei were something dirty.

"I thought it was some barking dog, but it's Miss Zhou San." Li Zhiwei was taken aback at first, then said without any politeness.

After all, if others are treating me so rudely, why should I be polite?
