Chapter 55 Why (1/2)

Chapter 55

"No, I don't want it! Please don't give it to me!" Jiang Hanhai waved his hands repeatedly, terrified.

After all, what good things could be in a coffin?

"Marquis Yongning, are you sure you don't want it?" Xie Jincheng raised an eyebrow and asked again.

"No, no," Jiang Hanhai said, shaking his head vigorously.

"What should we do? Does he not want him anymore?" Xie Jincheng pointed to the chubby little boy Jiang Yu, who was sleeping soundly inside, and asked Xu Heming.

“Take it back,” Xu Heming said very seriously.

"Then why don't you stay at the manor?" Xie Jincheng asked unhappily.

"I can't afford to raise them," Xu Heming replied without hesitation.

"No, your reason is really too perfunctory, isn't it?" Xie Jincheng felt that Xu Heming's answer was really shameless.

"Yes, I need to save money to get married." All the money in the royal palace will belong to the princess in the future.

"No, Xu Heming, do you really think I'm like this idiot? How could your Prince An's mansion be so poor that you don't even have the money to marry off a wife?" Xie Jincheng retorted speechlessly.

“No, the dowry isn’t enough. How about you contribute some?” Xu Heming said, looking at Xie Jincheng with a slight smile.

"Do you expect me to give you mountains of gold and silver to marry some rich girl?" Xie Jincheng looked at Xu Heming with disbelief, thinking to himself, "Do I look like someone who's easy to fool?"

"No, you two are talking about this in front of this thing?" Jiang Hanhai really couldn't understand why these two would talk about marriage in front of a coffin.

I don't know what their hobbies are.

"Hey, Lao Jiang, let's not stand on ceremony. You really don't want what's in here? They say good things should be shared, so don't blame me for not sharing with you," Xie Jincheng teased the timid Jiang Hanhai.

"No, no, if you like it, you can take it back." Jiang Hanhai was timid to begin with, and didn't even dare to look into the coffin.

He just thought that taking this thing back would make him uncomfortable, and if Xie Jincheng liked it, he could take it.

"Old Xu, you have to stand up for me. If Marquis Yongning comes looking for me again, I won't give it to him." Xie Jincheng chuckled.

"Alright, then I won't be polite." Xie Jincheng chuckled and made a move to bend down and retrieve the "treasure" from the coffin.

Xu Heming also stepped aside and watched with a leisurely air.

Hearing the commotion behind him, Jiang Hanhai felt increasingly uneasy and couldn't help but steal a glance back.

Xie Jincheng had almost half his body inside the coffin when Xie Jincheng was so frightened that he quickly turned back, muttering, "The grievances have their source and the debtors their debtors. This has nothing to do with me. Keep your things away from me and don't let me see them."

Just then, a soft muttering came from the coffin, like a dream, with a hint of dissatisfaction in its nasal tone.

Jiang Hanhai froze. That voice... why does it sound so familiar?

Before he could figure it out, Xie Jincheng had already straightened up, and he was indeed holding something in his arms. It was a chubby little boy wrapped in brocade, sleeping with rosy cheeks. Who else could it be but his son Jiang Yu?

“Look, Lao Jiang, you said it yourself, he’s mine now. Oh my, this little darling is chubby and heavy, it would be nice to take him home as a lucky charm.” Xie Jincheng suppressed a laugh and deliberately bounced the chubby little boy in his arms.
