Chapter 435 Condemnation

Outside Changchun Garden, every five steps stood a soldier from the Xishan Camp, clad in armor, with their backs to the garden's walls and gazing into the distance.

When Yinzhi heard that Kangxi had moved to Changchun Garden, he quickly brought his wife to his villa. He had originally intended to pay his respects to Kangxi and Consort Tong.

As soon as the carriage approached Changchun Garden, the deputy commander of the Western Three Great Camps hurried over and respectfully greeted Yinzhi.

"Third Master, His Majesty has instructed that no one should be seen today!" The Deputy Commander was Fei Yanggu's confidante, and she was sent here to prevent the princes from getting involved.

"What?!" Yinzhi glanced at the deputy commander. "I want to pay my respects to Father Emperor!"

Inside the flower hall, Kangxi looked coldly at Yin, his mind in turmoil.

"My lord, the Third Prince has arrived!" Li Dequan announced as he came over.

"Let him in," Kangxi ordered directly.

Yinzhi, along with his third wife and Dong'e Gege, quickly entered, bowed respectfully, and then sat down.

They looked at the twins sitting next to Qingyan with curiosity on their faces. Hongxi and Yikene didn't get along, and something was bound to happen soon.

"Third son, what brings you here?" Kangxi asked, glancing at Yinzhi.

"Your subject came to pay respects to Father Emperor and Mother Empress, but I did not expect that my elder brother and Yinzhi would also be back!" Yinzhi quickly stated.

Seeing that the Crown Prince was also there, he was very worried. Had he come at the wrong time again?

Kangxi was running out of patience with Yinzhi: "When did you arrive?"

In the preceding days, Emperor Kangxi had been hoping that one of his sons would come to pay his respects, but to his disappointment, not a single one of them came.

“The day before yesterday, when I went to pay my respects to Mother, I only found out that you had come to Changchun Garden after Mother said that you were not here with me!” Yin Zhi quickly explained.

When Kangxi heard this, he just felt that Yinzhi had many excuses.

Yiken felt the atmosphere in the flower hall was a bit oppressive, and his little head began to look around. He saw the time on the grandfather clock and realized it was time for him to go.

"Grandfather, when can we have lunch?" Yiken'e's clear voice broke the deadlock.

"Is Yiken'e hungry?" Kangxi glanced at Yiken'e with a smile, marking his second smile of the day.

“Yes, Mafa, it’s lunchtime now. No matter what, eating is the most important thing!” Yiken said, tilting her little head.

In contrast, Hongxi dared not say a word, fearing that he would be scolded by Emperor Kangxi.

Although the two were a few years apart, Yiken did many things that he dared not do.

"Li Dequan, serve lunch. It's already this late." Kangxi gave Li Dequan a slightly reproachful look.

Later, a sumptuous lunch was served, and because there were many people, we were seated at two tables.

"Yiken'e, come here to Mafa!" Kangxi glanced at Li Dequan and immediately moved Yiken'e's chair to his side.

Hongxi glanced angrily in Yiken's direction, while Qingyan took in the gazes of the Naxi in the harem and instantly calmed down.

"Mafa, I want to eat fish!" Yiken'e said directly to Kangxi, noticing that the fish were quite far away.

"Li Dequan!" Kangxi was very satisfied. Yiken'e was no longer like others, adhering to those rules. There were many things he wouldn't eat in front of him, for fear of embarrassing himself.

Yiken ate with great satisfaction, while the others ate with some trepidation.

After lunch, Consort Tong had Shu Yun take the children to rest, and a new round of interrogation began in the flower hall.

Before Yin Zhi arrived, Yin had already said almost everything.

"Your Majesty, the princes of the Guarjia clan, the Dong'e clan, and the Khorchin have all been taken into custody!" Eshuo walked in from outside and respectfully reported.

Upon hearing the name Dong E Shi, the Third Princess Consort's face turned deathly pale. As expected, her father had not heeded her advice and had become entangled with the Suo family.

"Father, your daughter-in-law is guilty!" The Third Princess Consort and Princess Dong'e knelt on the ground at the same time, directly begging for forgiveness from Emperor Kangxi.

Looking at the two sisters, Kangxi realized that Dong Epengchun's involvement with Dao Suoxiang was also for the sake of the eldest son.

"Get up and kowtow, all of you. A daughter who has left home cannot persuade her family!" Consort Tong gave them a way out.

The Third Princess felt her face burning with embarrassment. Qingyan, watching from the side, was clearly saying that the Dong'e clan had no sense of propriety.

“My dear mother, I already told Father Emperor when I got home!” the Third Princess Consort quickly said.

A few days ago, Yinzhi noticed that the atmosphere in the capital was a bit strange. He then thought of the matter of Empress Hesheli and specially sent his third wife home. He repeatedly emphasized that she should not get involved with the Crown Prince again.

Unfortunately, Dong Echunpeng ignored his daughter's advice and got involved with those people again.

"Alright, start kowtowing. This has little to do with you!" Kangxi waved his hand.

The Third Prince's wife and Princess Dong'e rose helplessly, unable to apologize to their family.

"Father, it's our daughters-in-law's fault for not doing their duty to persuade them!" The Third Princess Consort said helplessly.

It is said that Princess Dong'e was more favored in the Dong'e Mansion, while she was always neglected by her father.

"Hmm." Kangxi was also satisfied with the Third Princess's attitude. "This matter has nothing to do with you." Kangxi's words completely reassured Dong'e Gege.

Princess Dong'e was somewhat incredulous when she discovered that the Third Prince Consort had passed the test so easily.

"Alright, you women can go to the side hall first." Kangxi didn't want to see Dong E Gege, so he sent all the women away.

After the women went to the flower hall and took their seats, Consort Tong looked at Princess Dong'e.

"Your Highness, I was wrong!" Dong E Gege also came to admit her mistake. After all, the Third Prince's wife was not so favored at home.

Consort Tong remained silent, her gaze icy as she looked at Princess Dong'e.

"Is that so?" Consort Tong looked at Princess Dong'e and took a sip of her tea.

"This servant should persuade Father." When Dong'e Gege returned, she only spoke to her mother and did not speak to her father at all.

"Go outside and kneel down!" Consort Tong ordered directly.

Qingyan was somewhat surprised. It was rare for Consort Tong to be so irritable with the women. She had already admitted her mistake, yet she was still being punished.

"Yes!" Dong E Gege felt deeply wronged.

"Alright, Third Prince's wife, you should also learn some manners." Consort Tong, disliking Princess Dong'e, directly reprimanded the Third Prince's wife.

"Yes!" The Third Princess Consort was inwardly bitter. If she dared to say anything to Princess Dong'e, her father would definitely nag her.

When Dong E Chunpeng told her that she should be taken good care of Dong E Gege while she was at the mansion.

“It won’t do to just talk the talk but walk the walk,” Consort Tong said directly.
