Chapter Sixty: The Battle of Taking Medicine

Early in the morning, Yin pulled Qingyan along as they walked towards the imperial tent, followed by servants carrying food. Every time, Yin wanted to warn Qingyan not to go to the imperial kitchen so often, as it was too crowded there, but the little girl never listened to his advice.

Consort Tong was satisfied with Qingyan's every move. The little girl was doing exactly what a commoner's wife should do, and she was very pleased with Qingyan's demeanor.

"Little darling, your father is back!" Fei Yanggu called out to Qingyan as he watched her walk into the tent. The little guy had always been cherished by them.

Qingyan flew straight into Fei Yanggu's arms like a little butterfly, a happy smile blooming on her face.

"Father, you're back?" Qingyan's face was rosy; with the help of the spatial system, her body had recovered.

Fei Yanggu affectionately stroked Qingyan's hair, his heart finally at ease. The person he had arranged to be near Qingyan mentioned that Qingyan had been framed and was not in good health.

She grabbed Fei Yanggu's purse with one hand and supported herself on his knees with the other as she climbed up.

"Little girl, have you been behaving well lately?" Fei Yanggu stared at Qingyan, whose face was becoming increasingly thin.

Qingyan nuzzled Feiyanggu's cheek, a moment of intimacy that Kangxi envied. Royal girls wouldn't act like Lanya, so affectionately with their fathers. In the eyes of his sons, Kangxi was first and foremost the Emperor, then their Father.

Fei Yanggu noticed Kangxi's gaze out of the corner of his eye, picked up Qingyan and put her on his lap, then kissed her forehead.

"Alright, stop acting all cute in public." Fei Yanggu scolded with a smile in his eyes.

Qingyan turned his head away haughtily, ignoring his rambling.

At this time, Su Peisheng and Su Lan had already had breakfast prepared, as there wasn't much good food to eat in this desolate wilderness.

"Father, let's eat quickly." Kangxi didn't mind Fei Yanggu and Qingyan's rudeness. In his opinion, such frank behavior was the best. At least they didn't worry too much like others.

Emperor Kangxi and Consort Tong were already seated at the dining table. Yinzhi sat on the lower right with a slightly dark expression, while Qingyan, contrary to his usual behavior, sat to the right of Fei Yanggu.

Immediately, Yin's face darkened even more; this little guy was going to cause him a lot of trouble.

"Fourth Prince, time to eat!" Kangxi saw Yin's dark face and gave up on his plan to tease Yin, making sure not to make Yin explode on the spot.

Kangxi had already given the order, so Yin had no choice but to sit obediently opposite him. He was already used to being fed Qingyan every day, and today's sudden change made him very uncomfortable.

After breakfast, Yin's face grew increasingly gloomy, while Fei Yanggu's mood became increasingly cheerful.

Qingyan's face fell, as if she had made a terrible mistake.

Inside the tent, Emperor Kangxi and Consort Tong unceremoniously sat in the superior positions, ready to watch the two little ones make a fool of themselves. Yin looked aggrieved, but they felt it was all worth it.

Ever since Yin secretly went to Yonghe Palace with a high fever, his face has rarely shown any extra expression.

"Xiao Si, bring Qingyan's medicine to the tent." Qingyan's health has improved, but she still needs to use traditional Chinese medicine to recuperate.

Even though Qingyan didn't like drinking it, she still had to take it. Kangxi asked Physician Liu to prescribe the medicine himself. She threw a tantrum and secretly poured out the medicine, but Yin discovered it.

In the end, her little bottom suffered.

Qingyan followed Yin slowly toward the tent; she genuinely didn't want to take her medicine.

"Little darling, hurry up, the medicine will get cold soon!" Yin had been confronting Qingyan for many days and had long understood the little guy's intentions.

He had someone brew the medicine inside the tent. Xiao Guai was wasting time, and there was extra medicine waiting for her.

"Hmph!" Qingyan shook off Yin's hand and strode back.

She kept stabbing the little straw man in her mind, wanting him to drink medicinal food too, humph!

"You should also take some medicinal food. You suffer from summer heat every year!" The imperial physician had mentioned that Yin should take tonics in winter so that he wouldn't suffer so much in the summer.

Yin's face darkened; this summer ailment had plagued him for a long time. Over the years, Kangxi and Lanya had had numerous imperial physicians examine him. The physicians' remedies were mostly the same old ones; few were effective, and the medicine made his mouth taste bitter.

"Little darling, we've tried all those medicines, but none of them have worked well," Yin said helplessly.

He held Qingyan's hand gently. The soft touch made him reluctant to let go. Fei Yanggu was back, and the distance between them was about to widen again.

"It's not that it's ineffective, it's that you're not following the doctor's orders." Qingyan wanted to help Yin treat his summer heat syndrome, but she didn't have a good method, so she could only use medicinal cuisine and food therapy to improve his condition.

"Please help me." Yin looked at Qingyan. When he was at the Ulanara residence, Yin Xiatian not only did not lose weight, but actually gained a few pounds, which made Kangxi and Consort Tong extremely happy.

They felt even more at ease entrusting Qingyan to Feiyanggu's care. Both Yinzhi and Yin were carefully looked after, yet they lost a lot of weight. Kangxi specially dispatched a physician to examine them and prescribed a diet suitable for the Ulanara residence to prevent heatstroke.

"You must eat more obediently and not be picky like before." Yin didn't like to eat meat, which gave him a headache. Shouldn't the strong men of Manchuria and Mongolia be carnivores?

Emperor Kangxi preferred heavily oiled and salty foods, and he especially enjoyed the Sichuan dishes served at the Qing banquet.

"It's better to have less meat." Yin Wufa had been so used to eating meat when he was a child that he didn't really like eating meat.

Qingyan entered the tent, and Su Lan felt as if she had been served a bowl of dark Chinese medicine. She frowned, the taste of which was simply unbearable.

"Tuyan!" Qingyan mumbled, pinching her nose as she swallowed the Chinese medicine. The bitterness filled her mouth, and tears welled up in her large, watery eyes.

"Come, have some candied fruit!" Yin had asked the imperial physician, and these candied fruits would not reduce the efficacy of the medicine and could suppress the bitterness in his mouth.

Qingyan's taste buds were immediately drawn to the sweet and sour candied fruit, and the bitterness from before was finally gone.

Her gaze shifted to the jade bowl in front of her, where some medicine dregs remained. She handed the bowl to Su Lan with a look of disdain.

"How long do I need to drink this?" Qingyan looked up at Yin. Every three days, a royal physician would come to examine her. Each time he took her pulse, he would adjust the prescription. Even the decoction was prepared by Physician Liu himself.

Previously, the Mongol princes in the imperial tent had tried to bribe the medicine boys to add some incompatible drugs. They were frightened by the martial prowess of Eshuo and Saito. With these two powerful assistants, it would be a disaster if they inherited the position.

"Sulan, you must personally bring the medicine to Qingyan. You absolutely cannot let anyone else do it." Kangxi entrusted the heavy responsibility of dealing with the Mongol heir to Yinzhen. Looking at the densely packed secret documents, he felt a sense of panic.

Qingyan was a threat to them. No! It should be said that Feiyanggu, Eshuo, and Saito were the threats to them.
