Chapter 2: Performing a Blood-Spitting Act for Her Fiancé

She didn't want to go downstairs, and didn't want to move an inch.

But after the nurse finished her work, she still took her downstairs.

There aren't many people in the sanatorium, but every patient is extraordinary; it's a private sanatorium. The nurses and doctors are all handpicked.

There aren't many people, but there are many things to be careful about.

Just as Yunnuan was brought to a park bench, the nurse received a message, apologized to her, and then went off to do her work.

Yun Nuan looked at the budding branches and green lawn in the garden and found them utterly boring. In her eyes, these things were all gray, and even the bright sunshine and gentle spring breeze could not stir her mood.

Her pair of glassy eyes were lifeless at this moment, and she looked at people with a blank expression, her beautiful face gloomy.

She just sat there slumped in the recliner, her eyes vacant.

The sunlight lingered on her face, and for a moment the air seemed to freeze; even the butterfly's wings fluttered more slowly.

Yun Nuan seemed to hear an electrical sound, like the endless hissing of a stuck cassette tape. She frowned, finding the sound extremely annoying.

"Loading plot..."

One second Yun Nuan was on a deck chair, the next she appeared in the school's pavilion.

A cacophony of voices came from the playground not far away, and the overwhelming youthful energy made her momentarily dazed.

Because of her illness, she was unable to attend classes normally like many others. While others were in class, she was doing her homework while receiving intravenous fluids in her hospital bed.

This cycle repeats throughout the year.

She felt as if she had been suddenly thrown into this place, but seeing that no one around her seemed surprised by her sudden appearance, Yun Nuan suspected that this was part of the plot where she would appear in the book.

Those periods that do not appear on the page are considered blank time and are not affected by the plot.

"Yun Nuan, what are you doing?"

A clear voice rang out behind her. She turned her head and saw a handsome face walking up from behind her.

With slightly wavy hair, handsome and well-defined features, and tall stature, she looks dashing even from this angle.

"Lin Yu, look at her true colors. Don't be fooled by her."

Jiang Miao, the male and female protagonists of this book, was placed next to them, her eyes darting around.

She turned her gaze to Jiang Miao, whose long, slightly wavy chestnut hair and striking features made her a very attractive woman. She and the male lead certainly looked well-matched.

In just a moment, she felt her soul enter, as if she had broken free from the storyline.

She saw her hand raised high, a gesture meant to slap the female lead, but seeing Lin Yu approaching, her patience wore thin and she didn't want to listen anymore. She decisively slapped Lin Yu across the face.

"Lin Yu, Yun Nuan isn't sick at all; she even planned to hit me."

No sooner had Jiang Miao finished speaking than Yun Nuan slapped Lin Yu across the face.

For a moment, the entire pavilion was eerily quiet.

Yun Nuan rubbed her hands, which were numb from hitting them, and when she opened them, they were red all over.

She glanced at Jiang Miao and Lin Yu with annoyance; this was the price for making her appear. There were bugs in transmigrating into a book, and she hadn't expected to appear here directly when she was needed.

The only advantage is that she can move freely without being restricted by the plot after she appears.

"Trash," she muttered under her breath, so angry she almost laughed. This transmigration story with bugs was just ridiculous.

Lin Yu's face showed some redness and swelling, clearly indicating that the slap was not light and that Yun Nuan had used all her strength.

He glared angrily at Yun Nuan, "Yun Nuan, you—"

Yun Nuan looked at him with lifeless eyes, her voice hoarse.

"Shut up." His words were stuck between his lips, neither coming out nor leaving his mouth.

Jiang Miao's face turned ugly and she was about to speak when she turned around and looked at her directly, saying, "You shut up too."

The three people present had different expressions, but Yun Nuan didn't care what they were thinking. She just felt extremely tired. This broken body was exactly the same as her previous life. She wondered if they even looked the same. If they did, she would have just transmigrated here.

She walked slowly towards the water's edge, causing the fish to scatter in panic and creating ripples. She saw that face, a small face no bigger than a palm, pale, and so thin from illness that only a pair of bright, clear eyes remained.

At this moment, there was no trace of human life in those eyes; they were empty and lifeless.

This face is exactly the same as before she transmigrated into the book, even the small red mole under her eye is still there.

Her long hair was draped over her shoulders, but she had cut her cheeks in a princess cut, which, combined with her current gloomy appearance, made her look extremely gloomy.

Neither of them dared to disturb her, and they were shocked by her sudden change.

Especially Jiang Miao. Yun Nuan always acted like a weak and manipulative girl in front of Lin Yu, which made Lin Yu always tell her to give way to Yun Nuan because she wasn't in good health.

But behind her back, this person was ruthless in insulting and suppressing her.

Now she even directly attacked Lin Yu, which left Yun Nuan completely confused about what she was trying to do.

When Yun Nuan came to her senses and saw that the two of them were staring at her, she walked past them expressionlessly and left.

She simply found a place to sit down nearby. She didn't know where the sanatorium was or how to get out of the campus. Her head started to hurt again, and her stomach was cramping.

She clutched her stomach, head bowed, penniless and without her phone. Even though she didn't have the urge to call for help, she comforted herself, "It's okay, as long as the pain kills me, I don't want to live anymore."

But the airflow slowed down again in the next second, and the sounds from the playground stopped. Then the static started again.

A familiar feeling washed over her, and the pain began to lessen. She returned to the sanatorium, but this time she stood on a path surrounded by blooming flowers, their fragrance filling the air.

She turned around and met the eyes of the man sitting in the wheelchair behind her, who was lounging lazily in the wheelchair.

He had a blanket covering his legs and was dressed casually. He propped his head up with his hand, his eyes were long and narrow, and his captivating peach blossom eyes seemed to be smiling but not smiling. His features were exquisitely delicate.

He's even more handsome than Lin Yu, the male lead I just met.

Despite being in a wheelchair, his aura was so imposing that people dared not look him in the eye. Some people are born knowing they are different from ordinary people, and he was just such a person, a born king, capable of strategizing and manipulating people's hearts with ease.

"Who are you?" A deep, magnetic voice rang out, his eyes as black as the night, impossible to fathom.

The vibrant spring air carried the fragrance of flowers. Qin Yan looked at the woman who had suddenly appeared. She was dressed alone in a simple white dress, with long, flowing hair that reached her waist. She was very beautiful, but she looked too thin now.

Her exposed wrists were fair and slender, so delicate that they seemed as if they could break with a gust of wind.

Others dared not look at him, but the person in front of him had no such concerns; she even walked forward and stood in front of his wheelchair.

Yun Nuan felt a surge of bloodlust in her heart. Looking at the man sitting upright in his wheelchair, she only wanted to kick him off.

A gust of wind blew by, tickling her throat. She clutched her stomach and coughed, when suddenly, a surge of blood welled up inside her, and she coughed up blood.

The man in front of her frowned and looked at her with displeasure, as if he were blaming her for making the place dirty.

She actually felt a little happy; the man's furrowed brows and helpless expression gave her a sense of satisfaction.

The surrounding scenery spun and blurred. She fell directly toward the man, and only after smelling a reassuring scent did she feel relieved and pass out.
