Chapter 7: We're about to eat the most delicious food! Yay!

She was silent for a moment and then nodded. She looked at Aunt Lan and managed a weak smile. She couldn't smile; the pain from her illness prevented her from learning these things.

"Aunt Lan, thank you for your hard work. I'll be leaving tomorrow."

Aunt Lan sighed and left, and the ward returned to silence. Fortunately, Aunt Lan had taken out all her belongings. The backpack and suitcase that she had been looking for for a long time had been put into the cabinet next door by Aunt Lan.

There was a white leather suitcase containing several sets of clothes and some odds and ends. She saw a pink wallet, opened it, and found only a hundred yuan in cash inside; there were no bank cards.

I have my ID card and household registration book.

Yun Nuan's household registration was with Lin's mother. The Yun family took care of her purely because they wanted to use her to climb up the social ladder to the Qin family. Who knew that Qin Yan would have an accident?

The Yun family is probably angry that they wasted money on Yun Nuan.

"You're being discharged from the hospital tomorrow, aren't you happy?"

The one who spoke was Qin Yan, who had appeared at the door at some point. He was still sitting upright in his wheelchair, with a black blanket covering his legs, making it impossible to tell why he couldn't stand up.

She ignored the slightly sarcastic remark. From the other person's perspective, she guessed that their leg was still injured and painful.

She thought that if she met the little boy tomorrow, she would return the money to him, otherwise she might not come back.

She knew her situation very well; without money, she couldn't do anything and probably wouldn't even live to see tomorrow night.

With her large, clear eyes, she looked up at Qin Yan, the first person she had met since coming into this world.

Whatever his reason, he paid her medical bills, and even Aunt Lan was hired by him to take care of her. The book says that one should repay kindness, but she hasn't thanked him yet.

She stood up, looked at him, and smiled at him in the same way she had smiled at Aunt Lan earlier.

"Thank you." The voice was soft, just loud enough for both of them to hear.

Qin Yan's hand, which was resting on the wheelchair, twitched slightly at her thank you, and a strange, sudden pain shot through his heart.

Her smile was strange, a forced, artificial one, as if she were imitating a smile she had seen before, but she didn't have a mirror to look at herself, so it all seemed too unfamiliar on her face.

Those eyes, which often held a numb expression, now shone with a light, and her gaunt face made her look as if she might disappear at any moment.

Qin Yan forced a smile, but couldn't bring herself to say anything. Fortunately, she didn't mind. After tidying up her things, she sat there lost in thought again.

Qin Yan discovered that she was very different from the image in the file. The file said that she was unreasonable and had threatened Jiang Miao a lot in private, taking advantage of her illness. Even Lin Yu had been deceived by her many times.

But now, she can't stir up any ripples; she often stares blankly, lost in thought. When she's sick, she doesn't complain of pain; no matter how uncomfortable she is, she just grits her teeth and closes her eyes.

"Be careful tomorrow."

The pain spreading through his heart could not be relieved. After saying those words to her, he turned and left the ward.

After Qin Yan left, she stared out the window and softly murmured, "Tomorrow."

She never looked forward to tomorrow, nor did she have a tomorrow. Tomorrow is a reward for the lucky; death was her reward.

"Tomorrow has to be a good day," she thought.

The doctor prescribed some medicine and gave her a long list of instructions. She nodded perfunctorily and put all the medicine into her suitcase.

The doctors initially opposed her discharge, but they couldn't find the specific cause of her illness, and there were no suitable candidates for a heart transplant due to her heart condition. Moreover, she couldn't afford the exorbitant costs.

"Miss Yun, I hope you are safe."

These are the words the nurses said to her. These days, they have witnessed the once beautiful girl turn into a frail person who can no longer eat or drink medicine, and whose hands are covered with countless blue and purple needle marks.

It was heartbreaking to watch her leave. Miss Yun hadn't had anyone visit her since she was hospitalized, and now she was still alone even after being discharged.

The nurse couldn't help but turn away to wipe her eyes, say a few more words, and then watch her leave.

The hospital arranged a car to take her away; that was the only thing that could help her. The driver asked her where she was going, but she had no idea.

She ended by saying "city center." She knew from her phone that the busiest and most prosperous place was the city center, where she could find everything she needed.

Her stepmother wouldn't give her any chance to get her hands on the Yun family's assets. She had no pocket money, no bank card, no property in her name, and lived in the smallest attic in the Yun family home.

If she were in better health, she could have argued her case, but here she is in such a broken body, and she is exhausted.

She stood at the crossroads, where there was a large flow of people and vehicles that could engulf her in an instant, amidst the sounds of horns, wheels, music, and conversations.

All of this filled her ears, and her heart began to race involuntarily. After a moment of confusion, she started walking with the flow of people.

Dragging a suitcase, wearing a simple long dress, she was very pale, the kind of deathly pale that never sees the light of day. Her hair was long and black, and her princess-cut hairstyle, combined with her gloomy and empty eyes, made her seem somewhat unapproachable.

Many people walked up behind her and glanced back at her, exclaimed softly, and then walked away, glancing back every now and then. She didn't understand why these people were looking at her like that.

However, she was drawn to what the passersby were carrying, and she realized that they were all coming out of a store.

She stood at the entrance of the milk tea shop, gazing longingly. The milk tea looked delicious, as everyone was holding one and taking a sip with satisfied expressions on their faces.

A white leather suitcase lay at her feet; it was all she owned. She had no home, and the Yun family did not welcome her.

She spent all her money on medical treatment, and now she only has one hundred yuan left. She plans to spend all of that money and then find a place to wait for death.

After listening to a girl place her order and meet the clerk's gaze, she quickly spoke up.

"Just like her"

The shop assistant couldn't help but chuckle at her nervous expression, and then proceeded to introduce the product to her.

"Our shop's signature drink is 'Cloudy Snow Ridge,' a special blend. What you just ordered is our newly launched drink. If you haven't tried it before, you can try our signature drink first."

Yun Nuan was a little conflicted. She looked at the shop assistant and finally pointed to the one she was introducing.

"Then could you please suggest a signboard for me?"

After the clerk finished, she took out 100 yuan in cash. The clerk was stunned for a moment, but quickly took it and chatted with her for a while.

"It's been a long time since I've seen anyone use paper money. You look so cool, I thought you were going to take out your phone to pay."

Yun Nuan doesn't smile, so her face is always tense, which makes her seem extremely cold to outsiders. However, when the shop assistants see her stuttering a bit when ordering milk tea, they find her to be quite adorable.

"Take your change. You can go inside and sit for a while while I wait. I'll bring it to you when it's ready."

The staff were willing to move the food to the seat that this lovely young lady was sitting in.
