Wang Yanzhou said nothing, but turned away with his hands behind his back. Seeing this, Tang Chen quickly took off his bloodstained coat and handed it to Hei Ya: "You can go now, he's not angry anymore. Here, take this, the token you asked for."
After Hei Ya wrapped Tang Chen's clothes, he untied the purse from his waist and threw it to Tang Chen: "This is your half of the reward in advance. If you need something like this again next time, remember to come to me."
Before leaving, Hei Ya took out a small piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Tang Chen: "Before you leave, I'll give you a business card. If you have any work, please consider me and I'll give you a discount."
"Okay, okay!"
Tang Chen took the small piece of paper. When she saw the name, occupation and other familiar words on the paper, she looked up again, but Hei Ya had disappeared.
"Boss, did you hear what he just said? A business card. He said it was a business card. Look at the little piece of paper. Look at the information on it. Oh my God, I must be dreaming!"
Before Wang Yanzhou could even begin to complain, Tang Chen placed the small piece of paper in front of him. The glint of light in her eyes made it clear that what she was about to say wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment joke: "Boss, I want all the information about that man in one hour!"
Wang Yanzhou glanced at the contents on the paper and was about to smear it on Tang Chen's face with his hand, but Tang Chen suddenly dodged, leaving him empty-handed: "...Did you lose your brain from acting?"
Upon hearing this, Tang Chen quickly straightened his posture and repeated his previous words seriously: "That person is very likely from my hometown. Please, help me check it out!"
Wang Yanzhou didn't tease her. Since he had accepted her as a burden, it wasn't a big deal. He could help her out a bit. At worst, he could blame the person who sent Tang Chen to him. "Seeing your expression, I'll be merciful and accept this reluctantly. But there's no such thing as a free lunch. In exchange, I'll work for another year after returning to Qingliang Valley."
Tang Chen's teeth started itching when she heard this, but it didn't matter, she just endured it. After all, she still needed the support of the Valley Master. Living under someone else's roof, she still needed that little something. "...Deal, thank you, boss!"
Tang Chen was about to give Wang Yanzhou a big hug, but he blocked it with a branch: "Stay away from me, you're dirty."
Tang Chen looked down at the fishy pig blood stain on his chest, then looked at the dried blood on his mouth and hands, and shrugged: "Then why didn't you dislike me when you fooled me just now?"
Wang Yanzhou had already turned to leave, but he stopped after sighing. He looked at the blood stain on his clothes with disgust and said coldly, "Go back, and throw this clothes away."
"oh!"
Tang Chen's inner joy was clearly expressed: "I've made money, I've made money, this wave really didn't lose anything! I made money, got news about my "fellow countryman", and even got new clothes to wear. Ah, has God finally opened his eyes and looked after poor Tang Chen?"
After this hilarious blunder, Tang Chen's stomach started growling again. It's no wonder she's greedy; everyone has a few days a month when their appetite is stronger.
After changing into some old clothes he'd brought with him and washing up quickly, Tang Chen rushed to the inn's lobby, ordered a large table of food, and began to eat alone. He had only finished half of his meal when Wang Yanzhou returned. Without a word, he simply dropped a stack of stapled papers on the table.
Tang Chen picked up the food with one hand and pulled the pile of things on the corner of the table towards him with the other hand: "Wow, it's such a thick pile, what is it?"
Wang Yanzhou glanced at her, then turned and went to his guest room. Tang Chen watched him leave, smacked his lips and shrugged, "You look so indifferent. If you hadn't said anything, I would have eaten and watched."
Tang Chen was just curious and wanted to flip through it casually, but after catching a glimpse of the words "Black Crow", he quickly put down his chopsticks and started reading carefully from the beginning: "Oh my God, he actually found it for me, what a great guy!"
Written on this thick stack of paper was all the information that could be found about Black Crow since his birth, such as his birthplace and origin, and even the year, month, and day he became a killer, as well as the orders he received and the evaluations of his employers.
Black Crow's identity didn't seem unusual. Judging by his resume, he seemed to have decent skills in the industry and had good reviews from his employer. He seemed like a ruthless jerk who'd kill for money. He also didn't seem to have been involved in any life-threatening accidents before. This meant that Tang Chen's initial assessment of him might have been completely wrong.
Tang Chen threw the stack of things aside with a look of disappointment, his head drooping, as if he was unwilling to accept the situation. "This Black Crow doesn't seem to have anything wrong with him. Am I being overly suspicious? But how do I explain this business card? Could he be a strange person?"
Tang Chen, filled with thoughts, returned the things to Wang Yanzhou and returned to her room in a somewhat depressed mood. Despite her noisy nature of enjoying shopping and watching the excitement, she actually stayed in her room from the afternoon until noon the next day.
Unlike the disappointed Tang Chen, after completing the mission and receiving the reward, Hei Ya went to the street to buy a lot of things, including clothes, snacks, and medicinal herbs.
When Black Crow returned to his temporary residence, the lights in the room were already on and there was food on the table that had been reheated several times.
After seeing the food on the table, Black Crow smiled helplessly, took his things and went into the bedroom: "How do you feel today?"
But there was a woman in a fiery red wedding dress sitting beside the bed in the bedroom. She was lost in thought, staring at the candlelight before her. After Hei Ya spoke for a long time, she suddenly came to her senses, as if she had been startled by him: "Okay, much better."
Seeing that she looked much better than the day before yesterday, Hei Ya felt relieved and said, "That's good. Don't be so polite. I bought a lot of food today, but I don't know if it will suit your taste. Here are a few clothes, too. I bought them casually, but I don't know if they will fit you. Just wear them as they are. When you feel better, I'll take you home."
At the mention of home, the woman's expression suddenly grew serious. Black Crow, seeing how he'd rescued her that day, had a rough idea of what was going on. But with no fixed place to live, it was difficult for him to care for someone, especially a woman with a murky past. "Forgive me for being so abrupt, young lady. Could you please tell me about your family situation so I can go check it out for you?"
The woman pursed her lips and shook her head: "I can't remember..."
