Chapter 106 It turns out they deliberately didn't save him.

When Shi Wang asked, he couldn't get any information. He thought that Shi Qian was in poor health and had forgotten, and that it wasn't that he deliberately didn't tell his family.

But so many things happened afterward that he had to change his mind.

Shi Qian always bullied Shi Yan because of his status as the young master. He would hide his own things and frame Shi Yan as a thief; he tore up Shi Yan's report card because Shi Yan's grades were better than his; he smashed Shi Yan's piano because he was jealous of the praise Shi Yan received; Shi Yan was always covered in bruises and would not say what happened when asked. It wasn't until Shi Wang saw Shi Qian push Shi Yan down the stairs that he realized Shi Qian had been bullying Shi Yan all along.

During this period, Shi Qian's personality changed drastically, and his temper became increasingly worse. Shi Wang attributed this to his rebellious phase, but there is always a limit to how rebellious people can go, but Shi Qian did not.

Because Shi Yan played the qin well and achieved good results, and even participated in some competitions, Su Kaiyue became increasingly fond of Shi Yan, almost treating him like her own son.

Because Shi Yan saved him when he was a child, Shi Wang has been more concerned about Shi Yan than before. Occasionally when he goes home to bring gifts for Shi Qian, he will also bring one for Shi Yan.

It was only later that I learned that Shi Qian had either thrown away or burned the gifts she had given to Shi Yan.

When Shi Wang first found out, he frowned. He quietly went to Shi Qian's room, intending to teach Shi Qian a lesson. When he arrived at Shi Qian's room, the door was not closed, but only slightly ajar. He overheard the conversation between the two.

"Shi Qian, don't be like this. This is a gift from my brother. Please give it back to me."

"No! I won't give it to you! You're a bad person! You're a bad person!"

"I'm not..."

"You are! You're the bad guy! You stole my brother! You..."

Shi Qian seemed to want to say something, but suddenly fell silent.

"But you were the one who didn't go to save your brother back then, weren't you?"

Shi Wang, who was about to push the door open to stop him, paused and stopped at the doorway.

"You saw your brother that night, right?"

"You saw your brother being tied up, why didn't you save him?"

"You told the nanny you were tired and wanted to go home to sleep, and then you went home, right?"

"Are you jealous of your brother because your uncle and aunt dote on him, because he's healthy, because he gets good grades? You just don't want to save him, and you want to be the only one in the family, right?"

"Now that you see how nice my uncle, aunt, and brother are to me, you're angry and want to kick me out, right?"

...

There was a moment of silence afterward. Shi Wang neither heard Shi Qian's reply nor offered any rebuttal.

The truth is now quite clear. Shi Qian has admitted that he deliberately kept it a secret when Shi Qian asked him to go back and seek help.

Shi Wang didn't understand why Shi Qian did this. Was it just to gain his parents' exclusive favor?

Is that why you want him to die?

He can't help but understand now.

Shi Qian's behavior during this period has made it very clear that his personality is just like that. Back then, he didn't forget because he was sick; he just didn't want to save him.

Shi Wang laughed self-deprecatingly, seemingly mocking himself for valuing this so-called younger brother too much, while this younger brother wished him dead.

He didn't go back in; he simply turned and left.

Shi Yan turned slightly to the side and saw the shadow by the door dissipate, knowing that Shi Wang had heard and that Shi Wang was now gone.

He looked at Shi Qian, who was sitting on the edge of the bed and had fainted again, and gave her a victorious smile.

Not long after, Shi Wang moved out of the Shi family home and moved to a house he had bought elsewhere, saying that he wanted a quiet environment where it would be more convenient for his internship and work.

Shi Wang would occasionally return to the Shi family villa, where he would see Shi Qian bullying Shi Yan. Every time, he would stand up for Shi Yan and criticize Shi Qian for being too spoiled and willful.

This time was no different. As soon as he returned, he saw Shi Qian bullying someone again, and even Su Kaiyue and Shi Jingguo were unable to stop him.

But before he could even reprimand her, Shi Qian left without looking back.

Unlike before, Shi Qian used to cover up his wrongdoing and say that he didn't do it. Even though everyone saw him bullying people, he would still lie through his teeth and say that he didn't do anything.

Shi Wang sighed inwardly at how good his younger brother was at lying. He spoke as if it were the truth. One second he was saying that Shi Yan was the best to him and his best friend, and the next second he was hitting Shi Yan and saying that Shi Yan was a bad person.

Shi Wang could only attribute Shi Qian's behavior to a personality distortion caused by his illness.

Shi Wang felt uneasy recalling the cold expression on Shi Qian's face when he left; it was an expression he had never seen on Shi Qian's face before.

Then he thought of the scratches on his face, which seemed quite serious, with blood dripping onto the floor. He wanted to remind Shi Qian to treat them first, but Shi Qian left without even giving him a glance.

Shi Wang rubbed his temples, feeling a headache. He recalled the strange voice that had echoed in his mind when he entered the room, but it seemed to have disappeared.

Is it because I've been working too hard lately that I'm experiencing auditory hallucinations?

Su Kaiyue was still cursing Shi Qian for being vicious. Shi Wang, who rarely came home, didn't want to listen to Su Kaiyue's endless complaints and insults, so he changed the subject and asked, "Didn't we say we'd have dinner together today?"

Su Kaiyue finally remembered why she had called Shi Wang back today, and hurriedly called out to Aunt Chen, who was still busy in the backyard, to tell them to prepare dinner quickly.

Su Kaiyue went upstairs to change her clothes. Seeing that there was nothing for him to do, Shi Jingguo strolled upstairs as well. Not long after, Su Kaiyue kicked him out of the room. For a moment, Shi Jingguo forgot that Su Kaiyue hated him smoking. He shrugged indifferently, put a cigarette in his mouth, and went outside to smoke in the yard.
