Chapter 94 How can students be physically punished? An Uninvited Guest

After Xu Wenbing saw the police station staff off, Yan Zhengming also had something to do and said goodbye in a hurry. Xu Wenbing escorted Yan Zhengming to the school gate, but instead of going back to his office immediately, he decided to take a walk around the teaching building.

I happened to turn onto Shiqian's floor and saw two students standing at the back door of Class 1. Isn't this during class time? Why haven't they gone back to the classroom yet?

As he approached, he realized that he recognized both students. One was Meng Qing, a good student who had just returned from a physics competition a few days prior.

Xu Wenbing himself majored in physics from undergraduate to doctoral studies, so he naturally paid more attention to physics competitions. When he learned that Meng Qing had won first place and was going to Beijing to participate in the finals, he specially called Meng Qing to the principal's office, gave him some reference materials, and told him that he could ask him directly if he didn't understand anything.

The other one, unfortunately, was someone he had just met. It was Shi Qian, Yan Zhengming's newly accepted disciple. Before leaving, Yan Zhengming had entrusted him with taking good care of his good disciple.

Actually, even without Yan Zhengming's instructions, he would have taken good care of Shi Qian, after all, Shi Qian is the youngest son of the Shi family. However, only he himself knew about this matter. At the time, Madam Shi said that she wanted the two children to keep a low profile and asked the principal not to reveal their identities at school.

Why are the two of them standing at the door now? Xu Wenbing glanced into the classroom through the window; everyone was in class.

He walked over and asked, "Why are you all standing outside? Aren't you going inside to attend class?"

Meng Qing and Shi Qian both greeted Xu Wenbing, and Meng Qing replied, "I was kicked out by the teacher."

Xu Wenbing frowned. He never advocated that teachers punish students physically. Senior year of high school was a critical time, and every class was important. How could he let students not listen to the lessons?

He told Shi Qian and Meng Qing to go back to their seats. Sun Hongru saw Shi Qian and Meng Qing walk back to the classroom. He didn't care whether Meng Qing came back or not, but he couldn't let Shi Qian come back.

She specifically made him stand at the door so that all the students passing by could see him. The math class was two periods in a row, and she usually didn't let the students rest in between. If they wanted to go to the toilet, they could raise their hands to signal that they could go to the toilet.

She wanted everyone passing by in other classes to see that Shi Qian had been kicked out of the classroom for offending her. Ideally, the news would reach Shi Yan's ears, and then from Shi Yan to the Shi family, and finally to Shi's eldest brother. That way, she could stand up for her brother and surely gain a good impression.

He had heard Shi Yan mention that his family didn't really like Shi Qian, but for some reason they couldn't let Shi Qian leave. Now that he was punishing Shi Qian for them, wasn't that just right?

Just as Sun Hongru was about to yell at Shi Qian and ask him what he was doing in there, she saw the principal standing at the front door, knocking on the classroom door and signaling her to come out.

Sun Hongru immediately composed herself, telling the students to read their books first, and then she walked up to Principal Xu with great enthusiasm and asked, "Principal, what brings you here?"

"I'm just wandering around. What's up with those two students at your door?"

Sun Hongru didn't expect the principal to call him about Shi Qian and Meng Qing, so she quickly replied, "Those are all students who are disobedient. They didn't listen in class and were sleeping. Especially that Shi Qian, who even talked back to the teacher. I made him stand outside as punishment. Another student said he was a little sleepy and volunteered to stand at the door for a while."

Xu Wenbing was not satisfied with this answer. "If students are sleepy, remind them or let them go to the restroom to wash their faces. If that doesn't work, let them stay in the classroom so they can hear the lesson. If you kick them all out of the classroom, they won't be able to hear the lesson, they will fall behind and it will affect their learning. It's not worth it."

"Yes, yes, yes..." Sun Hongru broke out in a cold sweat. She only dared to show off her power and lose her temper in front of the students, but she would never dare to do this in front of the principal.

"The senior year of high school is very stressful now. Some students may stay up late to do exercises and not get enough sleep. It is normal to feel sleepy. Don't make a fuss about it or resort to corporal punishment or making them stand as punishment. Our school does not advocate such teaching practices."

“I think these two students are obedient children, so I let them go back to the classroom first. If they are really sleepy, let them take a 10-minute nap before waking them up. Don’t make them stand outside the classroom as punishment.”

“Children nowadays have strong self-esteem. They are all almost adults or just adults. Making them stand outside the classroom and be seen by other children of the same age will hurt their self-esteem.”

"Go back to class, don't delay the children's progress."

Xu Wenbing gave Sun Hongru a few words of advice, and only left after seeing that Shi Qian and Meng Qing had returned to their seats.

Sun Hongru was criticized several times, her face flushed red, but she didn't dare to argue back. She could only return to the podium with a belly full of anger and glare at Shi Qian's direction several times.

He's definitely not a good student; he's always unlucky when he gets involved with them. Now he's even gotten himself reprimanded by the principal. Qian will teach him a lesson sooner or later.

Sun Hongru swallowed her anger and didn't vent it in public, fearing that the principal might come back to hurl insults at any moment.

Not long after Shi Qian returned to the classroom, the bell rang. Surprisingly, Sun Hongru did not take up everyone's break time, and Shi Qian immediately fell asleep at his seat.

Shi Qian slept through the entire break between classes and a math class. Sun Hongru didn't bother him anymore; she just finished explaining the rules, assigned a lot of homework, and left.

The students in Class 1 breathed a sigh of relief. The atmosphere had been too tense. Everyone cooperated fully with Sun Hongru and actively responded in class, afraid of accidentally incurring her wrath and being scolded for no reason.

After everyone left, they turned to look at Shi Qian, who was fast asleep and didn't see the impressive and admiring looks they were getting.

When Shi Qian woke up after a good nap, it was already lunchtime. There was a physical education class in the afternoon, but Shi Qian didn't plan to participate. He already had the privilege of being exempt from physical education class, so he simply skipped it and went back to his dormitory to catch up on sleep.

He had just finished packing his things when he ran into Meng Qing, who had just returned. Meng Qing had been acting mysteriously these past few days, not even returning to the dormitory for lunch breaks. Shi Qian guessed that she was probably preparing for the competition.

When Meng Qing saw Shi Qian about to leave, she asked him if he was going to class in the afternoon. Shi Qian shook his head and said he was going back to his dorm to sleep.

Meng Qing touched the lunchbox in his hand; it was still warm. He handed the lunchbox to Shi Qian, telling him to eat before going to sleep. Then he looked down at his phone, not knowing who was calling, before shoving the lunchbox into Shi Qian's arms and leaving.

Shi Qian was already used to feeding Meng Qing, and given their harmonious classmate relationship, the lunchbox was definitely not poisoned.

Recalling how the two of them were constantly at odds in their previous life, Shi Qian shook her head in lingering fear, trying to shake off those unpleasant memories.

After Shi Qian returned to the dormitory, ate his meal, cleaned up the trash, rinsed his mouth in the toilet, and was about to go back to his room to catch up on sleep when a regular knocking sounded on the dormitory door.

Knock knock knock, knock knock knock, knock knock knock, three knocks make up a beat, with no intention of stopping.

Shi Qian knew who it was.

"Shi Qian, this is Fu Xiuhan. Are you in the dorm?"

Shi Qian didn't want to answer and wanted to go back to her room to sleep, pretending she hadn't heard anything. But the next second, Fu Xiuhan's voice rang out again.

"I know you're here. I just saw you take your food back to the dorm and eat it. Have you finished eating yet? Can I come in?"
