Chapter 53 Mental Hospital 5
The other person blended into the night, and you wouldn't know there was a person sitting there unless you looked closely.
The baseball bat reflected a silver light, its tip tapping the ground rhythmically, one tap after another.
Lu Cen's heart was gripped by the sound, and her breathing suddenly became rapid.
My fingers touched the doorknob and I turned it gently.
The other person moved so fast they were almost a blur; Lu Cen had barely opened the door when they were pushed back inside. Lu Cen was shrouded in shadow, and the other person's breath made Lu Cen's skin tremble: "Where do you think you're going?"
"without……"
"I've been waiting for you for so long."
Lu Cen's first thought was that he should bring Zhou Yang over as well. What Zhou Yang said during the day made sense. If he were here, at least he could compete with the other party. Now it's too late to say anything.
My second thought was, they've been keeping watch on 301 all day, which is closest to the elevator. How did this person get here without alerting anyone?
"What's this?"
The band-aid was touched, and the warm body heat disturbed Lu Cen's peace.
"Are you injured?"
When the band-aid was removed, Lu Cen felt a chill on his neck and covered it with his hand.
The man in the black hood paused. Although Lu Cen moved quickly, he still saw it: a clear teeth mark belonging to someone else.
Things were getting out of control. The other party chuckled softly, his voice filled with anger. He grabbed Lu Cen and pulled him over, causing the latter to stumble and fall to the ground.
Lu Cen stared at his opponent in horror as he saw him raise his baseball bat and bring it down hard. Lu Cen's heart stopped, and he closed his eyes tightly. A loud bang reached his ears, and his eyelids trembled. He almost cried out.
He was panting heavily when he noticed the stick had landed beside him, leaving a large hole in the floor.
"Don't rush, let me warm you up first."
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Lu Cen looked excitedly in that direction as if grasping at a straw. Perhaps because no one had opened the door for a long time, the person outside opened it on their own.
The baseball bat was swung outwards with force.
He Zhizhou felt a strong gust of wind on his face and dodged to the side. The two began to fight back and forth, and the noise startled the nurse at the nurses' station. Her hands were trembling as she made several phone calls.
Lu Cen was panting on the ground, knowing that he had escaped a disaster.
The hooded man acted decisively, alerting everyone before seizing the opportunity to escape down the stairs. He Zhizhou quickly followed, and the two soon disappeared from sight.
Lu Cen felt a little uneasy. Could He Zhizhou defeat him?
As dawn broke, a scream pierced the air above the hospital.
Lu Cen was startled: "What's wrong?"
The nurse pointed at the security guard, her voice trembling, "Dead...dead..."
The players all came out, and they were all stunned when they heard this.
The nurse sobbed, "I called him before, but he didn't respond. I thought he was sleeping too soundly and didn't pay attention. Who knew..."
Zhou Yang was very brave and went up to examine the body.
It was already cold, and there were still signs of rigor mortis on its face. The only wound was on its abdomen, and there was a pool of blood beneath it. The nurse ran to the side and dry heaved. Thinking about how she had spent the night with the corpse, she couldn't hold it in.
The players exchanged glances and understood.
The killer had been lurking inside the hospital for some time, just waiting for an opportunity to strike.
He was incredibly audacious; after killing someone, he didn't leave but instead stayed in room 306 for the night.
Early in the morning, a large number of people gathered in the corridor, and panic spread. Lu Cen hid to one side, still not in a daze, with the chattering of discussions around her.
"What about He Zhizhou?"
Lu Cen stared blankly over; it was Zhou Yang who had spoken.
"have no idea……"
Zhou Yang did not ask any further questions.
He Zhizhou returned half an hour later with a long, bloody wound on his hand, which startled the nurse.
While he was being bandaged, the players surrounded him, each with their own expression.
It wasn't until breakfast that Lu Tianhao couldn't help but ask, "What exactly happened this morning?"
The question was naturally directed at He Zhizhou.
The other person injured their right hand, making their eating posture awkward.
Everyone watched as he struggled with the glutinous rice balls, trying to scoop them up for ages without success.
"Am I obligated to tell you?"
One sentence infuriated Lu Tianhao, and the other players remained silent.
"Lu Cen, you speak."
"Huh?" He was a little confused: "What did you say?"
"You saw the murderer this morning, didn't you?"
Lu Cen nodded. This couldn't be hidden, since his door was open when they rushed out.
"Why don't you tell me?"
"say what?"
Lu Tianhao choked: "Tell me everything you saw, and we'll analyze it together."
Lu Cen hesitated about whether to say that the murderer was waiting for him in his room. It was obvious that the murderer had been inexplicably tolerant of him, and had repeatedly let him go even though he wanted to kill him.
Even if He Zhizhou didn't show up, he guessed that the other party wouldn't kill him.
“When I went back to my room today, he was waiting for me inside. He probably wanted to kill me.” Lu Cen organized his thoughts and said the first sentence. The rest was much easier to say: “He was wearing a black hood, so I couldn’t see his face. He was about the same height as He Zhizhou. Later, when He Zhizhou came to find me, he ran away.”
He Zhizhou added, "He's very skilled, and his weapon is a baseball bat."
Zhou Yang squinted, pondered for a while, and said, "I can see that, otherwise you wouldn't have gotten injured."
On the first day, Zhou Yang clearly felt that He Zhizhou's martial arts skills were comparable to his own, and anyone who could hurt him was certainly no small fry.
"By the way, the murderer had two small moles on his wrist."
Everyone was startled, then overjoyed: "Really? What does it look like?"
Lu Cen picked up a pen and hesitated on the paper for a long time before finally saying, "How about one of you draws a hand first?"
“Just draw whatever you want, nobody’s studied it,” Zhou Yang said.
Lu Cen drew a rough sketch and then placed two moles on the lower part of the wrist bone.
It's very small.
The players checked each other first, and no one had a mole, which meant that the murderer was not one of the players, which relieved all five of them.
"Should we gather the hospital staff and go over it again?" Lu Tianhao suggested a foolproof method, which, although time-consuming and laborious, was very effective.
"I think it's feasible," Qin Wei agreed.
And so, the matter was settled.
After breakfast, Lu Tianhao somehow convinced the doctor, and in any case, everyone in the hospital came. After the examination, no one had a mole in that location, and the murderer seemed to have vanished into thin air.
Lu Tianhao was incredulous and checked twice, but still nothing.
He stared at Lu Cen, his eyes filled with distrust.
Lu Cen was bewildered, but after realizing what was happening, she hurriedly said, "The murderer really did have a mole on his hand, I'm not lying to you..."
"Then tell me, how did you notice that spot?"
Lu Cen was speechless. What could he say?
He said he was being held by the murderer, and at that moment he was confused and infatuated. He glanced down and saw the fair and slender hand, including the two small moles.
Seeing that he couldn't say anything, Lu Tianhao, though he didn't say anything harsh, still felt a bit resentful.
Lu Cen couldn't understand it either. The hospital staff were all here, so why couldn't they find it?
"Lu Cen, come in, it's time." Xu Xi took out a notebook and a pen.
The form is different from yesterday's question.
Lu Cen was distracted and it took him a long time to fill out the form.
Xu Xi had a smooth shoulder line. He looked down at the answers, and after a while, he tucked the form into the middle of his notebook: "What's wrong? Didn't you sleep well last night?"
"ah?"
"Your eyes are bruised and purple. What did you do last night?" Xu Xi pointed at him vaguely.
Lu Cen touched her eyes; they were a little dry.
"Hallucinations have worsened?"
“No…” Lu Cen hesitated for a moment and said, “I was with them last night to catch the murderer, but we didn’t catch him.”
Xu Xi was taken aback by the answer and paused for a few seconds before raising his voice: "Nonsense! Who are they? Patients from the other wards?"
Lu Cen didn't know whether to nod or not, so he asked, "Why are you so angry?"
Xu Xi was stumped by his question, her expression faltering for a moment before she finally came up with a reason: "If a patient has a problem in the hospital, we doctors bear a great responsibility."
In reality, the murder was far more serious than the patient's problems, but Lu Cen was unaware of it.
"Don't go out at night anymore, it's too dangerous."
Lu Cen didn't dare to go out either.
"Alright, let's begin."
Unlike the first time when she stood, Xu Xi sat down next to Lu Cen.
When was the first time you had a seizure?
Lu Cen thought for a moment: "It should be nine years old."
"Could you please explain what happened in detail?"
“I come from a single-parent family and live with my mother. I was young then and often saw other people’s fathers picking up their classmates from school. I was envious. On the way home, I had my first hallucination.”
"Describe the characteristics of the fantasy object in detail."
"He was very tall and had broad shoulders. I had to look up to see him clearly. I thought of him as my dad, who would pick me up from school every day."
"Was it always the same person after that?"
"Yes, until I started junior high school."
Xu Xi suddenly asked, "Was yesterday's fantasy object the first time it appeared?"
"Um……"
Why would you fantasize about him touching you inappropriately?
Lu Cen stammered, "I...I don't know either."
Is there anything special about him?
"No."
"He's completely different from the people you've fantasized about before. Is he someone you've met in real life?" Xu Xi asked, looking up as she jotted down key information in her notebook.
Lu Cen hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
"You like him?"
Lu Cen was stunned.
"When you like someone, you subconsciously want to be close to them, especially through physical contact, which makes you feel happy, so you have this kind of fantasy."
"No...no, I don't like him."
He spoke with absolute certainty, and Xu Xi drew a long line on the paper with his pen. He asked bluntly, "If you don't like him, why would you fantasize about him touching you? Is it just because you like being touched?"
Lu Cen was drawn into his emotions, feeling both embarrassed and anxious, and it took her a long time to reply: "No."
Xu Xi was somewhat surprised and pressed for an answer: "Then what is the reason?"
"Because, because..."
Xu Xi stared at him, waiting for his answer.
Lu Cen lowered his head, nervously fidgeting with his fingers.
"You can completely trust me, don't be afraid."
Lu Cen's voice was barely audible: "Because in real life, he touched me..."
