Chapter 9: School

Although Sun Ye has been to this school many times, today he officially stepped in as a student, and everything felt different.

The school is dilapidated, with only one floor, like a large courtyard, with two rows of rooms facing each other, a total of six rooms, and a playground in the middle. In the middle of the playground is a square staircase with a wooden pole standing upright with a pull rope.

Sun Ye was pulled by Sun Miao into the first-grade classroom. The classroom was made of wood, leaky in winter and stuffy in summer. The desks were peeling and bumpy. The conditions were not good. There were new students and some who had failed the previous year.

Sun Ye took a closer look and couldn't help but frown. This is the environment? The importance of the next generation's strength is self-evident, so why is it so perfunctory?

Thinking about the current situation of the country, Sun Ye felt powerless for the first time.

Sun Ye sat quietly in her seat. She always believed that knowledge was sacred and that one must be serious and solemn when accepting knowledge, otherwise it would be disrespectful to knowledge.

In the Elf Forest, no matter how mischievous the elves were, they would be energetic and solemn when imparting knowledge.

Therefore, seeing his future classmates making a mess and talking and laughing in the classroom, Sun Ye was very angry.

Even Sun Miao, who usually laughed and laughed, sat in her seat obediently and did not act crazy. She noticed that her little cousin was very angry. She knew best that her cousin, who was two days younger than her, was very scary when she got angry. She would just stare at you and not dare to breathe.

Sun Ye frowned more and more, stood up suddenly, walked to the podium, climbed onto the teacher's stool, picked up the blackboard eraser and knocked hard on the table.

The noise in the classroom stopped and all the students turned to look at Sun Ye.

Such a small person, with a delicate little face looking at them with a very bad expression. Sun Ye suppressed his anger and looked at the students one by one.

"I'm only saying this once: keep quiet in the classroom. Everyone, find your seat. No whispering allowed. If you want to talk, go outside. Do you understand?"

"If you must say anything, first look at the chalk in my hand."

Sun Ye picked up a piece of chalk, rubbed it in his palm, spread it out, and the dust fell off.

This scene made those who were about to argue with Sun Ye sit back quietly. They had tried the hardness of chalk before, but they didn't expect that such a tough guy would show up at the beginning of this school year.

The people in the classroom didn't dare to look Sun Ye in the eye, thinking that Sun Ye was even more fierce than their own grandfather. Some of the older people were still not convinced, but they still didn't dare to act rashly. They found a seat and sat down obediently. Their subconscious told them that if they didn't do so, something terrible would happen.

Sun Ye was quite satisfied with the sensibleness of these kids. He clapped his hands, jumped off the chair, took out a handkerchief to wipe the footprints. This was also the handkerchief that Sun's mother used to wipe Sun Ye's nose, but she had never used it before.

Step by step, I returned to my seat, sat upright, and waited for the teacher to arrive.

The entire classroom was silent and quiet, in stark contrast to the noisy other classrooms. Sun Ye had no control over the other classrooms, as long as they didn't appear in front of her.

Everyone glanced at Sun Ye secretly out of the corner of their eyes. Perhaps they were frightened by this. When they saw Sun Ye looking at them, they felt as if they had been caught for a moment and immediately sat up straight.

Teacher Li Qingqing came hurriedly from outside, wondering why the classroom, which was always noisy at the beginning of the school year in previous years, was so quiet. It was too unusual. Could there be a fight or something?

There are three teachers in the school, and Teacher Li is in charge of students in grades one and two.

The beginning of the first grade every year is the most troublesome time. They are difficult to manage, young and unpredictable.

Surprisingly, this year the students are particularly well behaved.

Sun Ye saw a young woman walking into the school. He saw her taking out books from the cabinet under the podium and distributing them to everyone.

Passing the book from the front to the back, the little girl in the front lowered her head when she gave it to Sun Ye, and immediately retracted her head after putting it away, not daring to even look at Sun Ye.

Sun Ye was holding the book in front of him, while Sun Miao next to him was still looking for a newer one. He obeyed Sun Ye's orders after he forced him to pick one.

The process of passing the book was quick and efficient, and the whole process was unusually quiet. Teacher Li was a little uncomfortable with it. After all, she had been teaching for so many years, and usually at this time of year, there would be a lot of quarrels over a book.

No matter why, it's good to be quiet. She just shouted herself hoarse in the second grade and it's time to take a break.

"Hello, students. I am your teacher: Li Qingqing."

He picked up the chalk and wrote the three words "Li Qingqing" on the blackboard, then said, "I believe some students in the class already know me, so I hope that you will study hard in the next semester."

"Now, please introduce yourselves to the teacher."

"Okay. Start from this side."

Teacher Li pointed to the row near the classroom door. A little girl, her clothes washed pale and patched, stood up and said with a shy smile, "My name is Wang Chunhua, and I'm from the Red Flag Brigade."

Wang Chunhua didn't know what to say next, so Teacher Li asked her to sit down.

"My name is Wang Xiaoni, and I'm also from the Red Flag Brigade."

"I'm Li Xiaobao, from the Lotus Brigade. I love robbing bird nests and shooting slingshots. I also have a lot of glass balls, which my uncle bought for me. My uncle is really awesome, he..."

"Okay, teacher got it. Please take a seat, Li Xiaobao!"

It can be seen that this is a lively student.

“…”

When it was Sun Ye's turn, facing the attention of the whole class, Sun Ye lowered his head slightly, his eyes stopping at Teacher Li's mouth:

"I'm Sun Ye, from the Qianjin Brigade. I hope to study hard."

I added in my mind, I am Dibo, the high priest of the elves from the Elf Forest.

After a round of introductions, Teacher Li began the class. He asked everyone to count first, writing "1, 2, 3" on the blackboard, and then writing the Chinese characters "壹, 贰, 叁" under each corresponding number.

"Classmates, this is a... Come on, let's read it together with the teacher..."

Sun Ye is studying very seriously. The writing in each world is different, and she doesn't want to become illiterate.

However, she was familiar with this simple kind of question. After all, her two brothers had already learned it. She also helped them with their homework, but she would not tell them the answer.

Every contribution is valuable, not to mention the spread of knowledge is even greater.

That serious attitude infected Sun Miao, and her thoughts of slacking off disappeared unconsciously.

"Well, students, take out your pens and notebooks and practice. The teacher will go next door."

The noise from next door was getting louder and louder, so Teacher Li hurriedly assigned homework to the first graders and rushed to the second grade classroom.

The students first looked around and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the teacher had indeed entered the second grade classroom. But then they remembered that there was a big devil sitting in the class, so they sat firmly on the benches.

Sun Ye took out a notebook from his schoolbag. The paper was yellowed and of poor quality.

He took out the pencil that Grandma had sharpened and started writing stroke by stroke. His little hands were not very strong and the handwriting was all over the place, as if he was drunk.

Sun Ye was very angry. He concentrated and held his breath, looking at the words on the teacher's blackboard, and started to write again. It was better than the previous one. This was progress.

The bell finally rang and get out of class was over!

This sound is like the sound of nature to first-grade students, and it is here to save their lives.

Teacher Li hurried into the classroom and announced that the get out of class was over and students could move around freely.

But everyone looked at Sun Ye and felt that they didn't dare to move unless she gave the order.

"Why are you looking at me? Didn't the teacher tell you to have free time? Don't make noise in the classroom."

Sun Ye said this without even raising his head, and everyone went out quietly, feeling that the air outside smelled so good.

Seeing Sun Ye still writing, Sun Miao had no choice but to follow along, painstakingly writing. They were sisters, sharing happiness and hardship. She couldn't leave Ye Zi to be happy alone. She was truly a wonderful sister.

Sun Ye looked at Sun Miao's dazed eyes and knew that he was imagining something extraordinary.

There were only a few kittens left in the huge classroom, each writing and drawing at their seat.

Those intellectuals from the capital knew that school started today, so they came to see what the situation was like. They had been in this countryside for many years. The capital was in chaos back then, and when they saw that the situation was not right, they found an excuse to escape.

Senior intellectuals were demoted and paraded through the streets, being shouted at as "stinking ninths" (stinking ninths). No one could understand the torment in their hearts.

The fate of their friends is heartbreaking, and they don't know how to change the situation. They can only waste time year after year, hoping for the moment of revival, and there will definitely be that moment.

When I passed by the first grade, I saw some people who did not go out to play but were studying hard to write. The fire in their hearts had not been extinguished, and knowledge was useful.

People with outstanding looks tend to attract attention wherever they go. Look, an older man, elegantly dressed, is watching Sun Ye writing from behind.

Sun Ye's handwriting was becoming more and more decent, with every stroke being more and more accurate, and the progress was visible to the naked eye.

It is said that one can tell a person's character by his handwriting. Sun Ye's handwriting is clear and lively, with a distinct style. One can tell at a glance that he is an upright person.

"The handwriting of this little classmate is really good!"

Sun Ye had already noticed that there was someone behind her, but she pretended not to know. She expected that the other person would lose interest and leave quietly after seeing her.

Sun Ye put down her pen, turned around, and saw an old man. She had seen this man walking with the team leader before, and the team leader was behind him. He must have a very high status.

Sun Ye took two steps back and said to the old man with a level gaze: "Teacher, this is a school, a place to learn knowledge. If you want to talk, please go outside."

"Oh, okay, little classmate, can I ask you to come outside and talk?"

Sun Ye also wanted to go out and exercise, so he nodded in agreement.

The old man, Professor Liu Chaobo, heard such interesting childish words and wanted to know why she said that.

Seeing Sun Ye was about to go out with the old man, Sun Miao grabbed Sun Ye's hand and whispered in Sun Ye's ear, "Ye Zi, didn't grandma say not to go out with people you don't know? They might be beggars. If you go, you won't be able to see your parents, grandparents, or dad."

Sun Ye patted Sun Miao's hand and said, "Don't worry, this is a school. The beggars wouldn't dare come in. I've seen this man before. He went to the fields with the team leader, and the team leader knows him."

"Oh well."

"I want to go out with you too."

"OK."

Professor Liu looked at the students on the playground, feeling a surge of emotion. Teaching and educating, teaching and educating!

"Little classmate, what's your name?"

"I'm Sun Ye!"

Professor Liu couldn't help but take a look at this answer, and then asked, "Student Sun Ye, why can't we talk inside?"

When Sun Ye heard him ask this question, he thought that this man was mentally ill. He looked at him doubtfully before answering:
