Ba Mengmeng glared at Hua Ansu, "You must have taken it!"
Hua Ansu opened her eyes, looked at her, and gave her a half-smile.
Before she could speak, Babu stepped forward and said, "Minister, there must be some misunderstanding. Miss Hua would never take anything from the lab. Don't wrong Miss Hua!"
Ba Mengmeng was unhappy that her brother spoke up for Hua Ansu, "Brother!"
Babu glared at her fiercely.
She could only call out to him, feeling wronged, "Grandpa Ruan Geng..."
Ruan Geng was an elderly man who had previously referred to himself as an elder by Hua Ansu. He and another elderly man were both over seventy years old and were the oldest in the tribe. They were highly respected by the people, including Minister Duolunda, who was about ten years younger than them.
Ruan Geng was dissatisfied with Babu, saying, "Babu, stop protecting this woman!"
Zeng Lianggu also spoke up, "That's right, are you really willing to abandon your sister for this woman?"
Babu ignored him, remaining kneeling upright before the minister, awaiting his instructions.
Minister Torrenda then looked at Hua Ansu, the person at the center of the incident, and asked, "Ansu, what do you have to say?"
Hua Ansu propped his chin up as if he had no bones, "Are you talking about that half-finished dagger that's not even a beginner-level one?"
She asked, "Baboo, do you believe I would take it?"
"Babu doesn't believe it!"
She shrugged. "That's settled then."
Ruan Geng was so angry his hands trembled. "Is this a matter of belief or not?"
Hua Ansu nodded, "That's definitely not the case."
She added, "This is a matter of dignity."
"That's right, it's a matter of dignity!"
Suddenly, a person appeared at the door and echoed Hua Ansu's words.
The newcomer's expression was sharp, and his words were clearly protective of Hua Ansu, like a chick being shielded: "So many of you, pointing your finger at Ansu and calling her a thief, what gives you the right?!"
She was the minister's wife.
She stared at everyone's faces, finally fixing her gaze on Minister Torenda. "Your Excellency, where is the evidence?"
Minister Dorenda's expression had been somewhat off ever since his wife entered. When questioned, he tried to straighten his back and said, "Madam, I will naturally rely on the facts and will not wrong anyone."
The minister's wife scoffed, "That's for the best."
She said kindly to Hua Ansu, who was still somewhat dazed, "Ansu, don't be afraid, Grandma will support you."
Hua Ansu stood up, smiled politely, and shook her head slightly, "I'm not afraid."
"Grandma, please sit here and let me handle this myself, okay?"
The minister's wife was seated by her.
After that, she asked the people present, "So, you mean I took the dagger when it disappeared after I spent two days in the lab?"
"Who among you actually saw me take it?"
"Ba Mengmeng, is that you?"
Ba Mengmeng retorted angrily, "Only you have this opportunity!"
Hua Ansu smiled and said, "I really seized this opportunity well."
Anyone could hear the sarcasm in her words.
"Tell me, what do you plan to do with this thief who 'stole' the dagger?"
Ruan Geng: "Expel him from the tribe!"
Hua Ansu: "Oh."
Then she shook her head, "No, what if that person goes to join A-Gu? Wouldn't that be a loss?"
Ba Mengmeng's eyes lit up. Could she be with A-Yi-Gu?
Ruan Geng puffed out his beard, "Then what do you suggest we do?"
Hua Ansu stood with his hands behind his back, unhurriedly saying, "How about the punishment... being banned from leaving the tribe for life?"
Ruan Geng, "You wish!"
Is this punishment?!
Hua Ansu had her own plans. "The tribe I'm talking about is this place of several thousand square meters now. If the tribe expands in the future, that person will not be allowed to step into the expanded area."
