Chapter 6 Chapter 6
The clown was not unfamiliar with being in complete control of a person's destiny, but the difference was that those people were seeking survival, while the child in front of him was eager to die. They were completely different, and therefore he had the patience and interest to keep her, just for some fun, for example...
Anyway, she was a wooden doll at anyone's mercy, and he could shape and modify her as he pleased and make her 'his'.
He was very satisfied with the child. After teasing her, he suddenly realized something and said to his men standing behind him, "Drag her away and put her anywhere to let her finish crying. Is that okay?" He was used to using questions to increase interaction with others. Usually, this was more interesting than giving direct orders and would arouse more complex emotions in others.
But his men were a little too rigid and boring. They just replied, "Yes, sir," and picked up the child on the ground and walked downstairs.
The clown shrugged, stood up with his cane, and said to the clown gang members around him with a smile: "A boring guy is gone, now it's time for the real game, let me think -"
Just then, a subordinate came over with a laptop and showed him the message on the screen. The Joker curled his lips, but his expression clearly showed no surprise. "Our dear Mr. Bat is a step late again. He's still immersed in the game on the other side, but a little kid has already come over."
"I'm well aware of your incompetence, just like the drama between me and the Bat is always repeated. So, actors, you should take your positions."
As he gave the order, the clown gang members present went to their designated areas. As minor characters in the play, they had more or less some screen time and needed to do what they could, and they could not break the limitations of the role at will. But sometimes someone would be chosen and given a mission, good or bad, who knows, anyway, it was all for the performance effect.
…
The person who brought the child downstairs probably often followed the clown and was familiar with her personality. He took her to a secluded corner and put her down. Not only that, he also used other things to cover her, but he did not leave immediately.
The confused child was still sobbing and breathing rapidly. She had not moved at all since she was carried down. She blinked when her eyes felt uncomfortable and opened her mouth when she had difficulty breathing through her nose. However, she was not aware that she was crying, and there was no sadness in her expression. Only confusion and death were revealed in her eyes.
He was tall, his face hidden behind a mask. The boss's order was only to take her down, but perhaps out of a desire to comfort the child he had held, he said, "You'll be lucky tonight, kid. The boss won't give away his things. You're his."
So let death take her? Impossible, the Joker hasn't had the fun he truly wanted.
She was in a daze and would not give any response at all. With a rotten door panel placed in the corner, she was completely blocked.
When he returned, the Joker didn't ask him what he had wasted time on. The man who had brought countless disasters to Gotham stood in front of the broken French window. The wind that blew in made the tails of his suit flutter, and the flower-shaped brooch on his chest was also deformed.
After a gunshot shattered the silence of the night, he turned around with a surprised expression, "The game has started? I've been waiting for this for a long time!"
Perhaps he really has waited a long time, but isn't this all part of his plan? He stirs up chaos on behalf of Gotham's evil side, and the Dark Knight who guards Gotham always comes to defeat him. Together, they support this recurring drama, bringing "surprises" to the people of Gotham and bringing them their own insights -
A new understanding of Gotham, life, and myself. No one fully understands themselves from the beginning. One must go through various things to discover oneself and to see the deepest hidden self through the fog.
He is like this, and so is Batman, so despite appearing to be enemies, they are actually good friends who help each other.
Look, with this explanation, the game seems to have been given a different meaning, just like what a writer once wrote sharply in a tabloid:
"Gotham is nothing more than a playground for so-called vigilantes and criminals. They manipulate the facilities and bring in new tricks, like roller coaster derailments, bungee jumping ropes breaking, carousels strangling people, etc. Everyone knows that this is murder, but all the audiences and tourists are amazed by it. They like such shows more than the law and justice. What's more, this amusement park has an operating license and it is not violating any regulations."
The Joker agreed with this, but what he should pay most attention to is the present. When he heard the gunshot, he knew that Robin had come, or had broken in.
Bats and birds always have their extraordinary abilities, and the Joker never underestimates them. He reaches back and his men put the walkie-talkie in his hand. A laptop is also brought in, and a simple model of the office building can be clearly seen on the screen, followed by many small red dots symbolizing the members of the Joker Gang.
A lot of situations can be analyzed from the movement trajectory of the red dot on the screen and the sound of gunfire. The Joker watched Robin rush in from the first floor, and knocked down most of his men in just a few minutes. Then he disappeared for a short while, and then he had passed through a long passage and knocked down a group of Joker gang members who were chasing him.
The Joker knew that was another of his little tricks. The acrobatic boy loved these things, but Batman also had a lot of props. The Joker once defeated Batman and got his universal belt, confirming that it was a treasure chest that was no less than Doraemon's other-dimensional pocket, filled with many things he had never thought of, such as shark repellent.
...Is Batman forced to jump into the sea frequently by some criminal?
He thought back to Batman's battles of wits and courage with Gotham criminals. He even made Batman jump off helicopters and into the sea several times, blow up dams and sewers - causing seawater backflow, and blow up cruise ships on the sea, leaving everyone drifting in the sea. There were really many such things, so he confirmed that shark repellent did have its effect.
No longer thinking about irrelevant things, the Joker turned on the walkie-talkie and directed the teams to where they should be, and then Robin took action again and appeared in front of the Joker gang members.
A member of the Joker Gang handed him a walkie-talkie with the speaker turned on. Robin looked at them warily and heard a voice that was clearly that of the Joker.
He said, "Why are you here alone? Aren't the birds protected by that dark monster anymore? Oh my God, you're so lively, it reminds the bats of something, so they don't want to..."
The expression on Robin's face, which was wearing a domino mask, fell and became fierce. He was taught by Batman not to pay attention to this madman and not to let him succeed, so he just threw a Robin Dart and smashed the walkie-talkie into pieces, but he was also enraged.
The Joker didn't care about the cold treatment he received, and transferred the people guarding the second floor to the first floor to watch them being fooled. Then at some point, the elusive Robin broke into the room through the window on his floor. It was obvious that he wanted to defeat the Joker with his own hands, and he rushed straight towards him, but the Joker hadn't started playing his game yet.
He pulled the remote from his suit's inner pocket and was about to press it, but a flying Robin Dart shattered it. This sudden change startled the Joker, who cried out in panic, "Quick! Stop him!"
All the members of the Joker Gang guarding the office lobby fired at Robin's position, firing dense bullets from their machine guns, but he rolled over and bounced with incredible agility, and also threw out smoke bombs.
Thick smoke obscured Robin's figure, and the irritating gas made the Joker cough, but he said loudly while coughing: "Oh! Child, did you see those hostages I kidnapped?"
"I'm very unhappy that you're not playing by my rules. If you want to save them, then you should know—the remote control? Maybe it's just a toy used for show, and the real danger is the dangerous object itself."
The wind blew in and dispersed the smoke. The Joker held his cane in one hand and covered his mouth and nose with the other, squinting his eyes at Robin who was standing alone opposite them and confronting them. He looked completely prepared and ready to react at any time. You could see his ferocious expression with gritting his teeth. On the contrary, the Joker was still at ease.
When the smoke cleared and the air was no longer pungent, the Joker smiled and said, "Come on, Robin, you know we were all just 'joking'. This is just a little game."
Robin ignored him and asked in a deep voice, "Joker, tell me clearly what's going on with your bomb, otherwise I can't guarantee that your teeth won't fall to the ground in a moment."
"Why are you so hostile towards me? I set up the game, but you and the bat are the players, right?"
Robin sneered, "Stop your sophistry, this is not what I want to hear." He wanted to take something out from behind him, but the alert members of the Joker Gang poured bullets at him without hesitation.
But just like the minor characters in film and television scripts who cannot cause any harm to the protagonist, Robin was hit by a bullet and then flew out of the window he broke open when he broke in. The people on the first floor discovered his whereabouts, there was another burst of gunfire, and then everything returned to silence.
The Joker waved his hand impatiently, "You don't have the patience of a bat at all. How rude."
He took out his pocket watch and checked the time. It was almost time. Turning around, he saw the Batman he had just been talking about standing in the shadow of the supporting column in the room.
Batman arrived silently, and when the Joker saw him, a bigger smile appeared on his face, "Good man, we were just talking about you." Many gun barrels were turned towards Batman, but no one moved until the Joker said to shoot.
In fact, Batman was the more impolite one. He said bluntly: "Bomb." He was stingy and refused to say a few more words.
The Joker smiled and took a few steps closer to him. Under Batman's scrutinizing and wary gaze, he answered: "Mercury rod device? Pressure sensor? Contact trigger structure? Maybe there's a timing system?"
"You know, Bat, sometimes I get so many things done, so complicated, that I lose track of them myself."
He sighed pretentiously, "But unfortunately, the anesthetic I injected into the hostages is about to wear off. Maybe when they wake up, they will go to hell..."
Watching Batman step forward and out of the shadows, which brought a stronger sense of oppression, the Joker spread his hands helplessly and said, "Okay, I'm the bad guy and they're the good guys. They'll go to heaven. Are you satisfied with this?"
The author has something to say:
My story is developing so slowly (makes a sound of being shocked by myself) Please comment, comment, comment from all directions (method)
And one more thing, I don't like same-sex CPs. Except for Harley and Poison Ivy, who have a relationship that goes a little beyond friendship, I don't like anything else. I haven't written any ambiguous same-sex romances, so don't like same-sex CPs in my writing. Also, my Jason is definitely not White-haired Jason.
White hair highlighted Jason, my lifelong enemy (hateful eyes)
