Chapter 7 Chapter 7

Chapter 7 Chapter 7

The Joker walked in front of Batman, with the hostages behind him. As he said, those people were unconscious because they were injected with anesthetics. Now the time is almost up, the effect of the anesthetic has worn off, and some of them are about to wake up.

Batman's sharp eyesight saw the fingers of someone tied behind their back move slightly, and the wires under them were connected to the bombs next to them. After so many years of hostility with the Joker, he knew very well that the Joker would not lie about his game. Even if he sometimes concealed something or used sophistry to divert his attention, he was absolutely confident in his game.

The Joker followed his gaze to the hostage, but tilted his head and asked him, "Okay, what are you going to do now?"

"Besides those questions, how are the bombs connected? Bat, do you have any idea?"

It would be easy to blow all the hostages into fireworks. He could just detonate the bomb when Batman was lured to the other side and Robin hadn't arrived yet, or he could sneak out of Arkham Asylum and quietly blow up a bunch of people to announce his escape and let Batman arrest him, but that's not interesting enough.

To have enough fun, the Joker always waits for Batman to arrive before officially starting the game. In this matter, he unexpectedly has a kind of "gentlemanly" or "sportsmanlike" character? After all, Batman is his only recognized enemy.

So when the Joker announced that he was going to create another big incident, Batman chose to rush to another more important place - the Joker's game was a game, but the attack he caused was also real, and if left unchecked it would only lead to a bigger mistake.

Their "understanding" just proves the view that Gotham is the playground of the Joker and Batman.

The clown's smile was twisted and ferocious. He raised his cane and pointed it at the hostage who was about to wake up. "You better hurry up."

Batman's choice was to throw a batarang that scratched the man's arm. The batarang carried a powerful anesthetic that could make him sleep a little longer, but other people might wake up at any time, and any movement might detonate the bomb, so he had to be quick.

He thought soberly and rationally that the first thing to deal with was the Joker. If he didn't control him, he would bring greater trouble and create a complicated situation that no one could have expected. He swung his cloak and turned around to rush towards the Joker. The sturdy armor and Kevlar fiber woven layer on his body made it impossible for bullets to penetrate.

What's more, those bullets also avoided the Joker, causing him to rush in front of the Joker. His pale face was grinning, and of course he was also a good martial artist. He dodged Batman's fist by moving sideways and fought back with his cane.

His stick strikes carried the shadow of swordsmanship. Of course, he knew a lot and had also practiced martial arts. He had almost never lost in the previous three confrontations. However, the clown preferred to use his wonderful little props rather than this kind of back and forth. With his other hand, he had already taken off the flower-shaped brooch on his chest.

Batman had noticed his movements, of course, and he was ready, but as they intertwined and dodged each other's attacks, the Joker's venom flower throw at him was just a feint, and he slammed his cane into the hostage—

Batman's mouth was almost pursed into a line, but Robin, who had disappeared before, came back. He swung the rope and swept away the cane in the air, then threw it aside in disgust. He was about to raise his eyebrows at Batman triumphantly when he saw the Joker took advantage of Batman's distraction and pressed the button of the venom flower.

The highly acidic venom spurted out, and the fully armed Batman felt a strong irritation after inhaling just a little bit of the gas at close range. He did not underestimate its effect at all and tried his best to twist his body to avoid it, but his arm wrapped in Kevlar fiber only touched a little bit of the venom and was corroded to his flesh.

He put some distance between himself and the Joker. Under his sharp gaze, the Joker laughed wildly with satisfaction. "How's it going? Hurt by my venom? I improved it a bit. Thank you for letting me know it works well."

He really thinks that venom is effective. Even though the Joker pays attention to "copyright" and keeps the best venom for himself, he sometimes sells his low-level formula or prepared acid. Many people are interested in it.

Batman and the Joker were facing each other, and he took out a special emergency solvent from his belt and poured it on the wound. Robin saw that his injury was not serious, and the situation on the scene required a quick resolution, so he took the initiative to deal with the members of the Joker Gang. When they wanted to shoot at him, he would deliberately hide in the direction of the Joker, which gave him many opportunities and reduced a lot of trouble.

The Joker was distracted to see the commotion they were making, and Batman seized this moment. He shot out a grappling hook from his arm armor and wrapped it around one of the Joker's arms, pulling him towards himself. When the Joker tried to react, he punched him hard in the abdomen and then elbowed him in the head - which would cause the other party to be concussed.

He picked up the Joker who was lying limp on the ground and tied him up tightly. The Joker had amazing recovery ability and he was almost awake when he was thrown aside by Batman.

The madman first chuckled, then burst into loud laughter.

"You ruined my game, but what did you gain?"

In his eyes, Batman is passive and helpless. He rescues those people again and again, but what does he get?

The Joker and other criminals dragged Gotham into chaos, and Batman got involved on his own initiative. He could have ignored all these things and not cared so much. Look at how valuable his equipment is, look at how much it costs him to stop them from committing crimes, look at how much he runs around and works for Gotham day and night.

But he just wants to step into this mess again and again, even though it has disrupted his life and made him miserable. But he seems unable to see his own efforts and always feels that what he has done is not enough.

Honestly, what's the big deal about a few insignificant, ordinary people dying at the hands of criminals? Gotham, as a port city, has a thriving economy and trade, spawning countless underground industries. But it's the combination of good and bad that makes Gotham such a prosperous city.

Here, evil can never be eradicated. Batman's actions are doomed to be in vain. He cannot possibly change this city...

Just like how the Joker is always forgiven for his crimes.

Batman turned a deaf ear to his words, used micro-anesthetic needles to re-anesthetize each hostage to ensure that they would not wake up in the middle of the process, and then helped Robin take down the remaining members of the Joker Gang.

After finishing these things, he walked to a bomb, but did not touch it. Instead, he squatted down and studied it carefully. He raised his hand and scanned it with the function on his arm armor, and also scanned the internal structure of another bomb.

He transmitted the data back to the Batcave, where Pennywise, who had come to their aid, would use the powerful computing power of the Batcomputer to analyze and deconstruct it.

Robin didn't interrupt him and spoke during this free time, "B, can I punch that guy?" He was obviously eager to try, and there was also a slight hatred and anger expressed in his expression.

Batman stared at him, "No, Robin."

Now that the prisoner has been subdued, no further violence can be inflicted.

But Robin was unconvinced, "But he did that! And he—"

"He hasn't repented and still treats destroying other people's lives as a game. He has hurt many people, but why? Why do you never take him seriously? You let him escape from Arkham again and again! Just because he's a madman doesn't mean he doesn't need to atone for his sins?"

In fact, they argued about this issue many times, but each time to no avail. However, Robin could not suppress his emotions when he saw the Joker's face. He knew Batman's words and was aware of his persistence and choices, but he still left angrily, swinging his cloak.

Batman: "Robin."

Robin: "Fu*k Batman!"

The Joker laughed, "There is a disagreement between you, what is it, Bat?" His expression was strange, so did he know the answer? Yes, of course he knew, and what's more, this was caused by him.

Batman ignored his trash talk, and the Joker curled his lips in boredom when he got no response. But when he saw Batman pull out tools from his well-known utility belt and start to defuse the bomb with great professionalism, he couldn't help but say, "Wow! You did it again!"

"Dark Knight, the guardian of Gotham, her greatest hero, you have once again rescued innocent hostages. Do you need flowers or some fireworks?"

"If you let me go now, I will definitely tell the whole of Gotham about your great deeds. God, you should be aware that some people regard you as a protector."

"Do I need to establish a sect for you? Honestly, this is a good idea. My clown gang will take care of all these mundane matters for you, and you just need to stay high above and be your god."

Batman received the information sent back by the Batcomputer, carefully looked at the structural diagram of the bomb, turned on the signal blocker, first removed the pressure sensor and cut off the line. The mercury rod device can use a quick coolant to solidify the mercury and freeze the battery at the same time, so that the bomb can be dismantled safely.

He dealt with one group of bombs and carried away the still unconscious hostage. When he walked towards another similarly frozen bomb, he suddenly heard the sound of a timer. He had realized something and rushed straight to the group of hostages. From under the first person he had captured, he saw the third bomb, which had entered the countdown.

Batman threw all the hostages away. The bomb was located in the middle of the office building lobby, and the distance was not enough to throw it out. So in the last second of the countdown, he took off his cloak and covered the bomb with it, and ran towards the support column.

The Joker was still laughing. "I wanted to tell you this little secret, but you're too quiet. That's not good, Bat. You'll miss a lot of important information—"

“Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!”

The bomb exploded under the Batcape. Even though the cape had excellent bulletproof properties, it was still shattered by the explosion at close range. Batman lost his cape, which was bad news. The good news was that no one at the scene was seriously injured.

Batman squatted in front of the Joker with his fists clenched tightly, and the Joker's face was cut by several stones or shrapnel. Blood was flowing down his pale face, blending with his scarlet lips.

The Joker remained fearless. He stared at Batman with his mad, strange green eyes, and asked with a twitch of his lips, "Anything else you want to ask? But I'm not hiding anything anymore."

"The grand prize has been redeemed by you, hahahahaha!"

The author has something to say:

This is terrible. I just told my friends today that I will apply to be on the list for next week, and I will take a break during the May Day holiday. And then... I can't apply today (idiot, I feel wronged). So I can only control the number of words in the next two weeks, so that I can stock up on manuscripts and update during the May Day holiday.

I also heard a new song yesterday! Liu Yewei's "Bao Lian" seems to be more suitable for Jason.

lyrics

—I traverse the world in search of precious lotuses, fearless of the blizzards. Scarred as I am, I cling desperately to my cares, preventing myself from falling off the cliff. When the long night arrives, I remain blind, already numb with pain, unconcerned that the sun and moon don't shine above my head.

I tried to write a short story in my spare time → when I didn't feel like writing the main text. I had written a paragraph before and showed it to my 2 friends. One of them gave me some constructive suggestions. The title of the article is "Gotham Hell Jokes Collection", which is very good, so I adopted it.

(Because it's hell)
